08.01.2022 I grew up in gyms. . When I was 15 my mum dropped me at my first gym to attend an aerobic class. .... Until then I played netball and I danced. And some local aerobics classes. . You see aerobics was hot right then. And so much fun. . Though I was good at dance, and sport, Mum said these activities got boring for me, super bitchy at times perhaps, so I walked away. . I don’t deal well with petty and butchy. . I still loved to exercise and I was athletic, so I started attending an aerobic class in a large gym hall led by a local Canadian sports lecturer with his beat box and a colourful head band. . It was so much fun I’d often do two classes in a row. . This moved onto the gym environment... this is really where I grew up. . In this gym after an aerobics class one day I decided to venture into the weight lifting area. . I just started ‘playing around’ with the weights. An older gentleman, weight lifter gave me a few pointers. He was boisterous, but polite and helpful and really had a passion for, well ‘lifting correctly’. . This time he spent with me started my life long passion for lifting weights and weight training. . I still lift almost daily today ... . You see the weights never lie even though some days they ‘feel’ heavier. They give you feedback. They tell you if you are fit ! And really fit! In charge Tired Clear Consistent Disciplined Awake They tell you if you have been honest... with your body (self)... and your commitment to it. . They have taught me how to work hard. . It carries over to every area of my life. I am thank Ful for that man that day, I’m thank Ful for the opportunities I got in that gym to start working and teaching aerobics at 16 years of age and this has lead me to teach 1000s and 1000s to have a strong healthy and abundant life decades later. . So my intention now is to stay stronger than my kids (18/20) getting harder !!! . And stay right in body and mind as you cannot seperate them ... .
