25.01.2022 A total fire ban has been declared from midnight tonight for many areas of the state including the Greater Sydney area which includes the Blue Mountains local government area

25.01.2022 Fact: There will never be as many fire trucks as there are houses. Do not depend on a fire truck being available at your home. But if you and your home are well prepared, you stand a better chance of surviving a bush fire. There are simple things you can do around your home to prepare it for a bush fire, like keeping the grass low and having a cleared area around your home. Learn more and get ready at rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare #getreadyweekend #grw2020 #lindenrfs

Schools in the area have been contacted and parents will be advised of any actions they may need to take. 22.01.2022 Fire Weather Warning | Sunday 29 November 2020 Severe Fire Danger is forecast to occur for of most of Sunday across much of the Greater Sydney Area. A Total Fire Ban is in place for the Greater Sydney Area which includes the Blue Mountains Local Government Area. A total fire ban means no fires may be lit in the open air from midnight tonight until midnight Sunday night, this includes solid fuel BBQ and outdoor stoves. Significant penalties apply for persons who breach T...otal Fire Ban regulations. In Severe Fire Danger conditions, leaving early is the safest option for your survival. Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety but only stay if you are physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions. If you’re not prepared, leave early in the day. #nswrfs #prepared #capable

21.01.2022 The best Christmas present we could ask for This holiday break is the perfect time to make sure your home and property is prepared for the hotter weather in January and February, trim overhanging branches, clean your gutters, rake and dispose of leaf litter in your council green bin, and revisit your fire plan. 21.01.2022 Fact: Lots of rain means lots of fuel for bush and grass fires. It only takes a few days of hot, dry and windy weather to cure grass and make it flammable. Make a bush fire survival plan so you know what you will do if there’s a bush or grass fire near you. Visit www.myfireplan.com.au #getreadyweekend #grw2020 #lindenrfb

21.01.2022 Today is Police Remembrance Day. We thank and recognise those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and serving our community.

19.01.2022 On this day last year, NSW experienced some of its worst fire danger ever recorded at the time with Catastrophic fire danger forecast across the Sydney, Greater Hunter and Illawarra/Shoalhaven areas, leading to widespread school closures. Fire danger ratings are an important tool to help you make decisions about what to do and under these conditions, your only safe option is to leave early. You can learn more about the fire danger ratings, and check the rating for your area each day, at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fdr

15.01.2022 Fact: Your safest option is to leave early. A bush fire can be a terrifying situation, intense heat and flames will make you tire quickly, it will be difficult to see and breathe. You may become confused or disorientated. Powerlines and fallen trees can block... roads and make driving dangerous. It’s always better to leave early, before the fire arrives. Visit myfireplan. com.au and make a bush fire survival plan, it will help you make important decisions like when to leave or what you need to be prepared to stay. #getreadyweekend #lindenrfs #grw2020 #nswrfs See more

03.01.2022 Linden RFB had a very busy day yesterday! A crew was on standby during the morning due to the Total Fire Ban; we undertook training on search and rescue (including map reading) over the afternoon; and shortly after training finished the crew were responded to a fire on Sassafras Ridge in Faulconbridge to fight a fast moving grass and bush fire. The fire was brought under control and today's crew is mopping up and ensuring all the stumps and logs that are smouldering are fully extinguished. Have you done your fire plan?
