It may have been a difficult year but thanks to the hard work of the entire club we made the most of it and it was a successful shortened year for Lindfield Rugby. The head committee this year were crucial and did an outstanding job navigating these challenging times which is why they have all been reelected for the 2021 season. 18.01.2022 Lindfield Rugby Club are seeking expressions of interest for Coaches, Assistants and Managers to join our ranks for 2021. We currently field 4 Senior Grade teams as well as a Colts team with a history of success and plans underway to add additional sides. Our club seeks motivated, and passionate individuals whom are driven to succeed. The covid-19 interrupted 2020 season saw 3 of our 5 teams contesting finals and we aspire for further success in 2021 and beyond. Jock is Lindfield’s resident Snack Man and has been known to enjoy a Maxibon or 2, while Marshall has enjoyed a few too many Clubby corner beers and isn’t the 70kg lean athlete he once was when he first rocked up to Lindfield. 11.01.2022 We are extremely pleased to advise that Mark Fargas was rewarded for his decades of involvement with Rugby Union on Monday evening at the NSW Subbies AGM. Mark was honoured with the 2020 Peter Kelly Medal for service to rugby. The Union’s service to Rugby Award was named in memory of Peter Kelly A true rugby gentleman who gave so much of his time and passion to Rugby. As a former St Aloysius old boy, Mark has chalked up an impressive resume over four decades of involvement... with Rugby Union. Mark, who is a level 3 coach, has during this time won numerous premierships within NSW Premier Rugby and Subbies Rugby across a number of clubs, served as an assistant to Fiji for the 1987 Rugby World Cup, worked as a coaching director for the NSW Suburban Rugby Union and is widely respected in rugby circles. During the time of his involvement with Lindfield he has been instrumental in our overall game management/tactics and set piece work across all grades. Most recently Mark was head coach of our 2020 Colts side whom lost narrowly in their semi final to eventual premiers, St Patricks. Mark’s commitment to Lindfield is truly appreciated as is his love of rugby and we are lucky to have him part of our coaching group. #OldSoldier
