09.01.2022 May 30th is World MS Day. It is a day to recognise and spread awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is a commonly occurring neurological disease and is one of the leading causes of disability in younger adults. Symptoms can include blurred vision, weak limbs, unsteadiness, memory problems, fatigue and tingling sensations. MS is characterised by periods of relapse and remission and progressively worsens over time. Currently there are 2.3 million people diagnosed ...with MS worldwide and it is likely that there are hundreds of thousands that have not been diagnosed. Age of diagnosis is common between the ages of 25 and 31, with women twice as likely to be affected. What causes MS is still unknown, however there are many ways that symptoms can be managed. This years theme for World MS day is #bringinguscloser referring to a research focus and to raise awareness for the funding still needed to make a cure for MS a possibility.
