05.01.2022 Lindfield Tennis Club asks that all people who play tennis on our courts observe the following to protect the health and well-being of our members and guests, and their extended family and friends during this pandemic: 1. If you feel unwell, or are experiencing any symptoms of a cold or a flu, including but not limited to any of following, please stay at home: Cough Sniffles Sneezing... Runny nose Headaches Nausea Upset stomach 2. Upon arrival at the courts, please sanitise your hands. We provide hand sanitiser as well as wash basins and liquid soap. 3. After sanitising your hands, please sign in to register your attendance, including a contact phone number, to enable contact tracing if required. 4. At the conclusion of your game, please replace the traditional handshake with a racquet tap. 5. Each time you come off court, please sanitise your hands. 6. When not playing tennis, please be seated on one of the seats provided, maintaining social distancing. 7. Afternoon tea is provided. Designated servers for the day’s play will pour the tea and serve the sandwiches and cake to minimise touch points, reducing contamination risks. All crockery, cutlery and surfaces will have been cleaned and sanitised. We thank you in advance for complying with these guidelines to enable us to continue playing in a safe environment.

01.01.2022 Last Saturday, one of our players hit a great backspin drop-shot that bounced on the opposition's side, then bounced back to his side before the opposition could get a racquet to it! (Just like this video ) As luck would have it, we had been having a chat about this scenario (and others) the previous week. Who wins the point? If the spin or wind brings the ball back over the net, then you must hit the ball in order to win the point even if that means reaching over the net t...o put the shot away. If you fail to touch the ball, then the player who hit the spin shot wins the point. Just be careful not to touch the net or your opponent's side of the court or you lose the point! https://youtu.be/UipggZDRFSk
