17.01.2022 As National Bird Week 2020 winds up tomorrow, we wanted to share a few pics with you of the @landcare_nsw "Breakfast with the Birds" event hosted at the Lindner family farm last Saturday as part of Landcare’s "Saving our Superb Parrot" Habitat Restoration Project. Our guide for the morning was the knowledgeable and passionate Dr Tony Saunders, an expert in bird-friendly landscaping; otherwise known as #birdscaping An enthusiastic group of local Landcarers joined us for a w...alk around the property, ears tuned to the sounds of bird-calls and binoculars at the ready. A total of 31 species were observed and recorded, and the group was fortunate to spot a superb parrot by the creek! There was a huge amount of shared knowledge amongst participants, and thanks to a few native grassland experts, it was also exciting to spot some species of native forbs flowering amongst the trees, including hundreds of chocolate lillies, named for their chocolatey scent. Finished off with a delicious breakfast and a chat, we certainly had a fantastic morning and learned so much.
