25.01.2022 An attitude of gratitude is the first thing I work on every day . . Before I even open my eyes I think with three things I am grateful for . . When I started this many years ago , it was often hard to come up with three, and now I could end up late for work as it tends to spiral out of control ... . Gratitude makes what we have enough . It's a reminder that all the things we now have, were once longed and dreamed for . It sets us up to look for the good things in our day . . 24.01.2022 Life gets busy and often we get stuck in cycles of action . Creating habits that often don't serve us . . Today why not create a new habit of noticing ? .... Notice . *What lifts you up and energizes you (And make those things a priority ) *What things in life you are grateful for (This brings us contentment and joy) . *What isn't working and why ? (Perhaps these old habits don't align with you any more , as we grow our needs change .If it doesn't serve you, how can you change it so that it becomes something that does lift you up , something you are grateful for ?) . Self study is one that is never finished , it really is a great journey to look at oneself

18.01.2022 I have been thinking a lot lately about how we advertise yoga by posting pictures of someone doing what seems like impossible postures in even more unbelievable places . For most normal , mortal humans this is not realistic or fathom able, and why would we take time out of our busy day to wrap our legs over our head , stick our tush in the air and try not to look like a injured giraffe for a portion our day ? . . What most of us are looking for when we venture to our first ...yoga class is for the aching in our lower back or the tightness in our shoulders to go away , maybe the constant loop of worries running through our head to Nick off for a small portion of the day .It's all pretty simple stuff . . . We pretty much just want to feel better one way or another . . What I'm thinking is that a picture of someone free or pain and discomfort is actually a far better representation of what yoga can do and why we continue to squeeze into stretchy pants when it's 32 and you break a sweat simply getting dressed to go to class . . . So here is a picture of me sitting , NOTHING HURTS ! And believe me , it used to . I've had injuries and accidents that at some points in my life has made simply getting out of bed hard . . The movements on the mat make me feel better in my body and in my mind ,and I've seen it true for others . . If you've been thinking of giving yoga a go and your sitting reading this with something sore and want to try something different come see me . Move in ways that make you feel amazing and enlivened . . Why not start living in a way that you would wish for the people you cared most about and just see how that feels . . 11.01.2022 I had a conversation today about the meaning of joy and it really made me stop and think about the sheer loveliness of what it is to be ... Joyful Even just stopping for a moment to really listen to the word begins to invoke a feeling of contentment and brings a smile to the face .... It's something I strive for each day .A feeling of joy , and to be so Joy-full that it spills out and over to everyone I am so lucky to spend time with during my day . We need nothing to be Joy-full Just gratitude for what we already have Have a beautiful , Joy-full day

08.01.2022 So simple but so powerful Change the breath and change the way you feel . Feeling a little stressed or overwhelmed ? Try this little breathing technique .... . Our aim is to lengthen our exhalations (that simple ).. So you might breathe in for the count of four and exhale for the count of six . Do this for a few rounds you might be able to extend the exhalation to eight . Make sure the breath isn't forced and it feels comfortable . . Take as long as you have to close your eyes and just focus on your breath ,slow things down and remember how strong you are and how you have made it through every hurdle until now and you can do it again . . You can move mountains

If you find yourself feeling a little overwhelmed or rushed ,you may notice the breath is short or shallow or worse it's held .... . Slow steady breaths are like little love notes to yourself . . 01.01.2022 Hello lovely ones This year has been one of great changes for us all . I have taken a break from social media in the past few months to take time for my family and well-being.... What I have reaffirmed to myself is the work that I do is so connected to my heart . I truly do what I do because I wish to bring a little peace and joy into each and everybody that I connect with day . I am deeply grateful for the connections I make and the time people share with me . It is most precious . A great big thank you to all that continued to practice with me via zoom during our times at home and thank you to everyone that has come to practice with me in person . Mountains of gratitude for this beautiful community .

This ability to jump off that Hampster wheel of doing and see how your body , how your energy feels right now .... . To give yourself permission to feel what you're feeling and then to begin to move in ways to bring balance and alignment back . . In beginning to act on the little cues the body sends us during our time on the mat, we can begin to act on the cues our body sends us as often as possible . . If your feeling tired ....REST . If your feeling energised use it . When we ignore the innate intelligence of the body it will end up bringing us down with a great big screaming holt. .
