21.01.2022 'Mina's Scottish Rose' - Sold The client took a photo of this rose in her backyard during lockdown (in Scotland) and i used acrylic paint to recreate it on 20cm x 30cm canvas.
15.01.2022 'Simone's Magnolias' - Sold This was a commission piece for a client in Sydney. The client took a photo of this autumn Magnolia in her garden and I recreated it with acrylic paint on 60cmx80cm canvas.
11.01.2022 In 2019, when I was 62, I was bored one day and my wife suggested I pick up one of her paint brushes and have a go at painting. For the first time since I was a boy at school, I picked up a brush, gathered some acrylic paints and started by painting a couple of tomatoes. My wife was mildly surprised, as was I, that they seemed to resemble the bright red fruit I had on the table in front of me. I moved on to butterflies, figs, pears, even a house, and began to really enjoy ...the experience. With each piece, I received a little more praise and encouragement from family and friends. Covid-19 ironically provided me with much more time than I would normally have had, and I threw myself into this new passion, which for me, is like a form of meditation. I have been amazed and delighted, a year down the track, that I am now being commissioned to create artwork for people, which I hope to be doing for the rest of my days.
