25.01.2022 WHY CONNECTION TO ANCESTORS MATTERS When I started my business 3.5 years ago, I built it on the foundation of connection to 5 pillars, 5 key relationships - Self, Others, Source, Earth & Ancestors. I've often been asked 'why ancestors?'. ... Why does it matter to connect to ancestors? Connection to ancestors is a pillar in my business, art and daily life because it informs where I've come from and what I'm leaving behind when I pass. Each of us carry memories, traumas, intelligence and skills in our DNA that been passed onto us from our ancestors. We have the power to influence and change our DNA in order to stop perpetuating the traumas and pain of our ancestors. We also have the power to cultivate the skills and intelligence passed down to us. But how can we if we aren't forming connection to those who've come before us?! How can you intentionally leave a legacy if you aren't making efforts to release the subtle patterns that are playing out through you? It takes time, commitment and a whole lot of self-awareness to be able to address the trauma and pain, and to consciously transform it. There's many methods and practices that can be developed to create this intentional change and leave the legacy you desire. But it first starts with discovering and acknowledging where you've come from, who's come before you, and the kind of experiences that they went through, and memories they passed down. Connecting to ancestors offers a place of belonging, an opportunity to powerfully engage your lineage and legacy, and freedom to express the skills and intelligence they've passed to you. <3 <3 <3 Painting by RIshi Raj
24.01.2022 DECOLONISING BUSIN3SS & PARENTING "Whatever you consider to be the fullness of your self-actualisation, you will undoubtably need a vehicle to get there." My friend, business partner and mentor Anna B Feldman shared these words a few weeks ago and they landed with strong resonance. So much so, I quickly wrote them down, and as I was in my daily ritual this morning, I came across the page in my journal where they landed.... In order for your fullness to be expressed and received in the world, regardless of what industry you're in or what work you bring the world, you will need a viable vehicle to support your vision. For a long time, I thought I could do it alone. That I could build my legacy by myself, be the 'self-made millionaire' or 'philanthropic visionary' that seems to be on trend at the moment. But the truth is, this idea of being 'self-made' or 'solo-entrepreneur' goes against our very human nature. We are pack animals. We are designed for tribal living and collaborative visioning. As I've journey even further into the decolonisation of my mind, my lifestyle and my business, I am seeing more and more the perpetuation of subtle colonisation and the good ol' American dream of independence. We are not meant for independence, but for inter-dependence. (Strong distinction from co-dependence). I won't do business another way now. I won't live my life another way. I might be single, but I won't raise my child alone. We can survive in isolation, but we thrive in connection. (just look at the non-covid-related death tolls, violence, and mental ill-health as a result of social distancing). That is why the vehicle I've chosen for full self-actualisation is a collaborative business model and a community of co-parents. In order to bring my fullness to the world, I can't and I won't do it alone. This doesn't mean I'm 'settling' or 'selling my soul' to something other than my truth and alignment, it means that I'm backing myself so much in order to see myself living the embodiment of all that I envision. I see a world where prosperity and health is restored and regenerative in First Nations & Indigenous Communities. I see a world where storytelling becomes an avenue for empowerment. I see a world where my child knows in every cell of their being that they are Love, that they are supported and that they are given every opportunity for their own self-actualisation. It's simple. Choose love. Choose prosperity. Choose unity. Let every decision I make go through these filters, from business development, to child-rearing, to relationships, to self-empowerment. 20.01.2022 Everything is my fault. And I don't say that from a place of victimhood, but from self-responsibility. Because I create my reality.... I know, i know... nobody asks to be deceived, abused or betrayed. We can't control anyone else. But we have a choice in how we engage with the circumstances and experiences presented to us in life. I chose to remain in a relationship I knew at a gut level was not healthy and not what I wanted. I chose to neglect my needs and desires. I'd gotten to the stage where I was asking myself 'how did i get here?', 'what has my life become?'. And then things changed. I took responsibility for the way I had chosen to remain, for the way I had neglected myself, and took radical action to change my life. My commitment to myself was re-activated and I was determined to create the life that I desired. I'd been creating Pleasure Rites behind the scenes and was wanting to launch this rite of passage experience, but was betraying myself in it because I wasn't living in connection to holistic pleasure. I had become entrenched in a life of obligation and 'rescuing', prioritising the needs of others even when it betrayed my intuition and self-care. Becoming pregnant brought me into a new rite of passage. This initiation has brought up so much for me and deepened my connection to myself and my commitment to change. And now I am living and embodying Pleasure Rites on a daily basis. I choose what feels good on a holistic level in body, spirit and my broader ecosystem. I take responsibility for my choices and how I show up to my life's circumstances. And I take great pleasure in how I am creating my world, bringing my ideal reality into this 3D reality, and living in alignment with my integrity and joy. It's easy to blame others or the world or the government for your relationship to money, love, emotions and power (or any other area of your life). Regardless of what's happening in the world or how people are showing up in relationship to you, you have a choice in how you feel, how you respond, and how you move forward. Your money situation? Your fault. Your emotional baggage? Your fault. Your business growth? Your fault. Your relationships? Your fault. It may have been a number of things that lead you to where you are, but you get to choose what you make of it. How committed are you to creating the reality you most desire? . . . 12.01.2022 I spent years going through the same motions, repeating the same techniques and strategies I was being taught by my business coaches... but I wasn't reaching my financial goals or creating the freedom that I truly desired. 07.01.2022 I tried to fit in to the coaching and therapeutic model of business for several years, but it didn't work for me. As a trained therapist I thought 1:1 sessions would work for me, but I never got to a place of being sustainable in offering them longterm. As I've entered into pregnancy and the broader world moved into physical distancing and a pandemic mentality, I started to get clear in what i actually wanted to create in my life.... Okay, so I chose to bring this baby in... now how was I going to sustain myself and provide for this baby AND continue to be self-expressed in the world...? I let go of the online mentorship program, Pleasure Rites, I'd been creating behind the scenes and started to embody it more deeply in my personal life. I asked myself, 'what brings my heart and soul the most pleasure?' and allowed my spirit to ask for those desires to be met in my reality. Of all the 'jobs' and positions I've held, the titles I've given myself permission to embody, what kept coming up for me was 'tell your story'.. and in a lifetime of performing arts, that's what I do - I tell stories. So now I've committed to creating a global legacy of empowered storytellers; bringing my stories to life and creating platforms for others to speak up too. I continue to surrender to the 'how' this will happen, and ask for guidance every day for my next step toward this vision becoming a manifest reality. I've stepped into leadership and a way of collaborative business like never before - feeling supported and clear in my vision to create abundance for my baby and myself. And then I began to see my desires being met.... I have been connecting to others in seemingly random and spontaneous ways, and have been invited to speak as part of global initiatives, national storytelling organisations, and online forums. In the past month I've been invited to share stories at: - The Decolonised Body, an online forum created by @Queen Mode Collective - Unify, a 21-day global immersion for leaders, healers, artists and change-makers to collectively come together for unity in collaboration with Limitless Love and Leadership and @The Create Community on 15th July - YARN Australia's monthly stroytelling workshop on 26th July Additionally, I've been involved with the growth of Love Out Loud Movement, and invited to collaborate in this year's creation of National Women's Day. 02.01.2022 HOW YOU FEEL DOESN'T DEFINE WHO YOU ARE The truth is... today I feel anger and self-rejection and doubt. The truth is... tears just keep welling up and spilling over.... The truth is... i feel uncomfortable in my body and am questioning why i chose to allow another humxn to grow in my body and bring me into parenthood. The truth is... none of these feelings define reality or who I am. As I feel tears dry on my face and small kicks in my right ribs, I acknowledge that these feelings are small in comparison to the greatness of my Being. I tried several ways of alchemising these feelings, but ultimately it came down to being present with myself fully and acknowledging that IT'S OKAY. It's okay to feel unworthy. It's okay to question why we chose certain circumstances. It's okay to feel uncomfortable in your body. The truth is... it's okay to be humxn. To have humxn thoughts, feelings and desires. Just know that your humxn field of feeling and perception is not the totality of who you are. You are so much more. I say this to myself.... you are so much more than what you currently feel. Feel the feels in order to liberate yourself from the meaning your mind wants to make about these feelings. In fullness, Lindsey
