15.01.2022 WE ARE MOVING-The packing has started! Linea Casas new home will be Unit 11/50 Camp Rd. Broadmeadows, 200 metres from the Sydney and Camp Rd intersection and 300 metres from the Western/Metropolitan Ring Road. We will start moving in on the 23 March, 2017 and should be fully settled in and ready to re-start manufacturing our fine linen products by the end of April We will keep everybody informed of our moving-in progress. It is going to be a big job after 27 wonderful years in Lygon Street, Brunswick!

14.01.2022 Why linen sheets instead of cotton sheets? Literally the oldest luxury fiber, linen textiles have been used in households for more than ten thousand years. Today, a special secret shared by discerning people around the world is: pure linen sheets not only become softer and more lustrous with every use, but wicks away moisture from the body keeping you cool and dry. Due to the biological makeup of linen, it is often more desirable than cotton in hot and humid climates. Linen sheets are also a wonderful suggestion for people with special skin concerns.

13.01.2022 What is thread count? Thread count is a term used to measure the quality of cotton fabrics for bed linen. Thread count is the number of thread between the horizontal and vertical (warp and the weft) threads in a square inch. A magnifying pick glass, which measures one square inch is used to count the number of threads. Nowadays, when a 1000 thread count is advertised, it is in most cases a 1000 threads into an area of 8 to 10 centimeters square instead of a square inch. There... are just over 15 square inches in10 centimetres square. Generally speaking, the higher the thread count, the smoother and finer the fabric. However, in addition to thread count the base fiber and the size and quality of the yarn are just as important. For instance, percalle fabric is only 220 thread count but feels smoother than mill brands with the same or higher thread count.

09.01.2022 Welcome to Linea Casa Spring Edition newsletter. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for your customer referrals. As the old saying goes The finest compliment we can receive is a referral from our clients and friends". We would like to say a big thank you to all of you. Lately we have been flat out keeping up with the demand for linen sheets. With the summer season fast approaching, a lot of customers are preparing to endure that hot humid nights by s...leeping in pure linen sheets. Since the times of Cleopatra linen sheets have been used as a luxurious way to keep cool at night. It also seems that we are going straight from making extra big table cloths for the recent Jewish New Year to the next Christmas season. Our white damask table cloths (up to 7.5 mt. long) are popular all year round but at this time of the year in a special way. They can be dressed with red napkins and runner to celebrate the season and at the same time they can be used any other time of the year with matching white napkins. A lot of customers tell us that they did not just buy a tablecloth from us, they bought one of their family heirlooms. The planned demolition and re-building of our premises is proceeding in time and we will cease trading from Lygon Street early next year. We will be available on line and by telephone. We will not have a showroom for a couple of years but will still be available to visit our local customers with samples or send swatches to our interstate clients. 03.01.2022 Why Italian and not Egyptian cotton? When you buy Italian cotton sheets you actually buy the best of both worlds as Italian mills buy most of their cotton from Egypt. It is a well known fact that the Egyptians grow the best quality cotton in the world. Add to that, the Italians experience of thousands of years in weaving textiles and you end up having the best cotton fabrics in the world.

01.01.2022 How do I care for my linens? Proper care of linens will ensure that you will get many years of use from them. In order to assure their long life, alternate your sheets on a regular basis. Three sets are normally enough. One set on the bed, one set in the wash and one set in the linen cabinet. Always wash your linens with a non-chlorine liquid detergent. Wash in gentle cycle with warm water. TIP - to minimise your ironing, rewash the sheets in a delicate cycle without detergent. Always line dry.Tumble drying reduces the life span of your linens.
