20.01.2022 MINI ITALIAN GRAMMAR LESSON In Italian, if you want to form the passato prossimo (perfect tense) of a reflexive verb, you always have to use essere as the auxiliary verb. Therefore, the participio passato (past participle) of a reflexive verb has to agree in gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural) with the subject of the sentence. Moreover, reflexive verbs are always accompanied by pronomi riflessivi (reflexive pronouns) that are mi, ti, si, ci, v...i and si.
