25.01.2022 Coalition of Aboriginal Peaks: Government must act immediately to transform the justice system for Aboriginal people. Link-Up NSW chief executive Janelle Clarke says past government policies including separation of families and forced child removals had led to long-lasting impacts on Aboriginal people and communities. "Greater investment into supporting our people through culturally appropriate reunification programs, counselling services and the use of circle sentencing suc...h as Walama Court would serve our people better than the harsh and unjust treatment they receive from the justice system," Ms Clarke said. https://www.canberratimes.com.au//aboriginal-groups-deman/

24.01.2022 Link-Up (NSW) Aboriginal Corporations Board of Directors, Staff and Members would like to extend their condolences to the family and friends of Uncle Victor Morgan. It fills us all with great sadness to lose such a respected man in our community. Uncle Victor joined the Board of Directors with Link-Up (NSW) in 2011 and was appointed Chair up until 2017. It was with his wisdom, and guidance that lead Link-Up (NSW) to where it is today. Prior to Uncle Vics time on the Board, he was a dedicated member of Link-Up (NSW) staff working with our community who were incarcerated. The community has lost a hero, a true gentleman and family, a husband, brother, uncle and cousin. You will be sorely missed Uncle Victor with your big beautiful smile that, no matter what the circumstances were, you would make us all feel happy.

Now is the time to start having age appropriate conversations with your children about personal safety and what to do if they find themselves in an uncomfortable situation. Make children aware that unwanted touching by anyone (family, friends or strangers) is not OK and they have the right to say NO. The campaign aims to engage and educate all Australians to understand they have a part to play in keeping our children and young people safe from violence, abuse and neglect. #aboriginalchildren #aboriginalaustralia #childrenprotection #lookafterourchildren #nationalchildprotectionweek2020 #puttingchildrenfirst #playyourpart

02.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart that we let our members, clients and friends know of John Westburys passing on Monday night after a battle with cancer. John was a long time employee with Link-Up who last year celebrated 15 years with us. He was very popular with staff and clients alike, touching many lives throughout his career. Johns easy going, quiet and thoughtful demeanour made him an asset to the organisation and the many families he reunited. He will be missed by all. A ...memorial to celebrate Johns life will be held in Wentworth Falls on Thursday, 16th of July from 11am to 1.30pm. Due to COVID, there are restrictions on the number of people able to attend. With this in mind, if you would like to attend, please call Dianne on 0477 033 566 and she will provide the details of the venue. In lieu of flowers, Johns family have asked for a donation to any foundation that supports cancer patients and research towards finding a cure.
