23.01.2022 We’re at Bunnings Sunbury today selling sausages in bread and drinks to raise money for Bush Fire Relief. Come and support a good cause!
23.01.2022 Good news for Kangaroo Island farmers, with the Australian Lions Foundation, again stepping up to help. Today, Lions MD 201 C2 received a $30,000 grant to assis...t the Mount Gambier Hay Run to get almost 600 round bales of hay to Cape Jervis and then over to the Island. This has been a great team effort. Adam Smith from the Hay Run requested assistance on Saturday. After discussions with DGE Norm Somerville and PDG Dave Thomas, the situation started to look promising yesterday. With great cooperation from national transport company K & S Group at one end, and Livestock SA at the other, about 15 loads of hay will help relieve the burden of farmers by helping to get their animals fed. It is hoped that some drivers might get going this weekend and the rest the following when they return from hay deliveries in NSW. Since Christmas, ALF has contributed almost $140,000 to District 201C2 to help in the recovery process, following the Cudlee Creek and Kangaroo Island fires. Remember that 100% of ALL money raised by Lions throughout Australia and the world is used to serve our community - this is indeed a very satisfying feeling. #YouCanToo #C2Lions Australian Lions Foundation PHOTOS TO FOLLOW NEXT WEEK. 20.01.2022 We've begun 2020 and much of eastern Australia is burning, it's an understatement to say that it is quite a traumatic time for residents, fire fighters and their families. The Lions Club of Diggers Rest would like to thank Animal Land Diggers Rest, Laurie Pincini and the extended Pincini family, their employees and all of the wonderful people who gave their time, effort and money to help raise funds for Fire Aid victims. A total of $4117.45 was raised on the day, the Lions h...ave voted to increase the amount donated to $5000.00. 100% of the money raised has been forwarded to local Lions Clubs in badly effected areas where you can be sure that the funds will be used wisely and no administration costs taken from the amount. Efforts like this remind us of how important it is to care for others, whether we are directly or indirectly effected. Thank you everyone for your support. See more

12.01.2022 The Lions Club of Diggers Rest notes with deep sadness the passing of Brad Radclyffe the key organiser and driving force behind Kruz 4 Kids. Brad is held in high esteem by all of our Lions as someone who chose not to dwell upon his health problems but instead to focus on the positive and put his energies into raising money for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Deepest condolences to his family, Vanessa, Tahlia, Alan and Vera.

03.01.2022 Are you looking for something to do to pass the time during Stage 4 restrictions? The Lions Club of Diggers Rest invites you to contribute towards the Diggers Rest Spoonville village at 16 Explorer Crescent, Diggers Rest. So why not join in with the activity that is gaining momentum all around the world, have some fun and help us to create a strong sense of community. If you aren’t able to source wooden spoons or glue we have a limited number of wooden spoons and glue availa...ble in a box at the door, we ask that you only take what you need please. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to create your spoon, craft materials, recycled materials, sticks for arms and legs or even the body are great options. If anyone would like to donate spoons or craft materials, please knock on the door and let Jessica know what you’ve left so that she can keep track of everything. Jessica will bring the spoons inside when the weather is bad and place them in her front windows for everyone to see. Many thanks to Jessica for suggesting Spoonville and offering her yard, Diggers Rest is lucky to have such great residents! See more
