If you had a drawer full of unsorted socks, consisting of 10 Blue, 8 Black, and 6 Gray, and the room is pitch black, so you can not see the socks, how many socks do you need to grab from your drawer, to make sure you have at least one matching set of socks before you leave the room ? 22.01.2022 Its December time, with Christmas quickly approaching , BUT Mudgeeraba Lions have not finished our work for the year, not just yet. We want to be able to deliver some Christmas Care packages, to some of our local Aged care homes, the first lot a few months ago were very very thankfully received. We would love your help, even a $5 item coming from a few people really adds up. What do we need ?... Sorry we still can not accept used items, we are after craft and creative items, IE the wool last time was greatly apricated, books, colouring-in items, ie colour by number sets, puzzle books etc, were also very popular, some festive stuff would be lovely. The aim of the packages is to help the aged care residents, while they are still living with forms of isolation, and to let them know that our wider community have them in our thoughts. Where can you drop off ? Mudgeeraba optical in Mudgeeraba Village shopping centre, almost opposite the Post office. David and his wonderful staff said they will be delighted to be our official drop off point for donations, David and Mudgeeraba Optical have been, and continue to be fantastic supporters of our community efforts, thank you again for all your support. Mudgeeraba Optical are going to kick off our Care Packages, with their own donation of goods. . Of course the team at Mudgee Optical are no strangers to creative, if you have seen there window displays, you know what I mean. . 19.01.2022 While i have been looking for puzzles, I found one, that can perfectly adapted for Easter. This could be a great one to play with the kids, or partner, friends etc, you start off with 11 Easter eggs, only 2 players play, you each take turns to take some eggs,(from the 11), the person left with the last egg, LOSES ALL the eggs, you are each allowed to choose either 1, 2, or 3 eggs each turn, you need to have the FIRST pick, and IF you pick a particular number, you can beat t...he other person NO matter what amount they pick each turn. REMEMBER the person that is LEFT with the last egg loses. I was going to wait to do this one tomorrow, but thought might be best to play while there are the most eggs still available 2 levels to this one, can you workout what the answer is (unbeatable first pick) ? 16.01.2022 SORRY TOO SHOUT BUT IT NEEDS TO BE HEARD. MUDGEERABA/ GC HINTERLAND COMMUNITY YOU ARE AWESOME. It's not quite closed off yet, final pickup 10am tomorrow (Dec 23rd). Picked up the already donated items from Mudgeeraba Optical,(thank you to Mudgeeraba optical for both YOUR very generous donation, and agreeing to be our collection drop off) this morning so we can start to box items up ready to be passed on tomorrow to the Aged care homes.

14.01.2022 Our Lions club members have decided to make up some care packs for a couple of the aged care homes in our area. our members had a discussion about how hard it is to be isolated for so long, so we have put care packages together, with both bought goods, and items donated by our members, we have, many many items including ; Large print Crossword, and Sodoko books, Knitting needles and wool, Playing cards, ... Domino packs, Colouring in Books Notepads Pencils, Pens Bingo items, Make yourself Windchimes, Books, etc, etc etc We are hoping that these items help the residents in their isolation, we also hope it reminds them that people in this community have them in our thoughts. Another project chosen BY OUR members, another local community project that we thought needed OUR support. 14.01.2022 Mudgeeraba Lions are here to serve our local community, a lot of our fund raising has stopped at the moment, BBQ's, Meat raffles etc, what hasn't stopped is our determination to continue to support those that need our help. To help us raise the funds, that we need, to be able to keep showing our support to others, we will be relying on a bumper Christmas raffle this year. Last year (our first year of doing this) we had a mixture of bought goods, (using our funds) and items do...nated directly from our members themselves, this year we thought we would ask you the members of our community for your help. Every $ we spend on raffle prizes is a $ less we raise to donate. Do you have a local business that could help us out, as thanks for your support we will be posting and listing the business name, and the prize donated, (ie a service voucher, or a straight out prize) on our facebook page and sharing it around other local facebook sites, depending on the response any donation of larger prizes, can be (with your approval), be written on the actual raffle tickets as well. Also looking for any businesses that could hold a few books of our tickets so we can direct people to go and buy their tickets from your location, very important as we have NO BBQS to sell the tickets this year. Please note all our Lions members are volunteers, and WE pay a fee to be members to cover things like admin etc, so ALL of the money raised WILL BE DONATED, we do our best to spread our support as much as we can, we try to support as many as we can, including local schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Hinterland band, Aged care Homes, Redbacks, local families in particular times of need IE House fire, we support story dogs , people with disability etc etc etc. To help us help all these and others, we are asking two things can you or your company make a prize donation, or help us sell some tickets. 14.01.2022 Slowly things starting to open up again, of course when they do they tend to happen together , club members were stretched a bit this weekend, we had car parking at the Titans to do, same night as car parking at the Mudgeeraba show grounds, for the very successful drive in concert, run by the Wallaby hotel, to help support locals in the music Industry great to be able to get out and help out, in our local community and support 2 big supporters of our Lions club (Wallaby hotel and the Gold Coast Titans), without both of their support we would not be able to do as much as we currently do in our community . Thank you to all our members that were able to help out this weekend.

13.01.2022 Up and out early this morning,to Volunteer at the GC50 run, helping out the amazing Gold Coast Tallebudgera Lions, fun feel good day, it's always uplifting to be around positive people, doing positive things. It really is a day for all people that want to push themselves, from Elite Athlete's looking for a best time to people that don't really know if they will be able to finish at all. Having such a beautiful spot for such a run certainly helps. 13.01.2022 Mudgeeraba Lions club up early this morning, Mudgeeraba show grounds, cooking up breakie for our amazing Rural fire service, Qld fire and Emergency services, GREAT to be able to give back to those that do so much. If you have anyone in your family that likes seeing emergency vehicles, a mix of about 60 utes, fire trucks and a helicopter down at Mudgeeraba. 08.01.2022 Driving back from a Lions meeting in Warwick, got about 20 minutes from Beaudesert and had ambulance race past us, drove up the rd a little, found rd blocked, due to car crash. Waited in q a little was then told to turn around, only have very small amount of details, but looks and sounds very serious, think counted at 6-7 Ambulances. We were told CPR being done on 3 people. Right now as I write this these amazing people, are fighting hard to save these lives, feel like I need to be doing something, so I am asking anyone that believes in any higher power of any sort. Please send your best wishes and prayers to these people currently fighting for life.

But Liz and Richard are very adaptable, IE they normally do high teas, but for us they put on a beautiful pulled meat buffet, with a selection of delicious desserts. 05.01.2022 Recently we posted asking for help with our Christmas raffle, thank you to all of you who offered us help, after discussion at this week's board meeting, it has been reluctantly decided that will will not be holding a Christmas raffle this year, as we rely so much on selling our tickets at both Mudgeeraba village and Bunnings BBQ, and both of these will be heavily affected by Covid restrictions. We are still hoping to sell some of the famous Lions Christmas cakes to raise some funds. Thanks again for all your ongoing support.

02.01.2022 This message is directed to the MANY MANY, fantastic locals who contributed to our Aged Care home Care/Support packages, with the great response we had we were able to share and support 3 local aged care homes. Huge thank you from the Residents and staff at the Aged Care homes, thank you also from all the members of Mudgeeraba Lions for supporting our project All the Care/Support packages, have now been dropped off in time for Christmas, they were all VERY well recei...ved. Talking to a couple of the lifestyle Co-Ordinator's they told me they will certainly make a difference. Didnt get all the photos i would of liked due to Covid retrictions, but one is attached, also attached is a A4 flyer i made up to go on each care package. When we did our first club only, care packages we received some thank you letters, (personally written by residents), I have been told to expect some more, please check and like our Mudgeeraba Lions facebook page, as I will be posting these as I get them, as the residents want to thank everyone that donated. 01.01.2022 Lions district 201Q1 cabinet meeting in Warwick this weekend, spending some time and money, in one of our district areas doing it particularly tuff this year. Still living with drought conditions, as well as covid reduced tourist numbers. As i was not required at the cabinet meeting myself, did a walk and drive around Warwick, found some great old buildings, love a town with a connection to history. 01.01.2022 As our home base the Wallaby hotel, is still under going renovations, we have been taking our monthly meetings out and about. Last nights meeting was held at Krish indian restaurant at Robina, http://www.krishindian.com/, wow did we get looked after, we were all definitely full when we left. A couple of our members said they had never, been to a Indian restaurant b4, and said they will definitely be coming back for more. Thank you for looking after our members so well. Not a... lot of business discussed at this months meeting, due to being held in a shared restaurant, main points, looking at doing Christmas care packages for a couple of our local aged care homes.
