23.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Lest we forget

22.01.2022 Recently we undertook Lions Eye Health Project training with Bryan and Kay Hearn. Our plan is to screen young students in schools and preschools for potential s...ight issues. Parents must give their permission for the screening to take place. We aim to help families identify potential sight problems, which may interfere with learning progress. There are four tests conducted. The Spot Vision Screening Camera analyses whether there are any abnormalities with the child’s eyes and produces a printout that details findings and recommends whether an optometrist should be consulted. The LEHP Children’s Screening Program also tests a child’s visual acuity, using a Lea Vision Chart, to see how sharp their vision is at longer distances. Special charts are used to test colour perception, to ensure that colours are being perceived normally. Depth Perception is observed using a 3D image device that checks that a child’s stereo vision is suitable for conducting tasks at close range. When an issue is detected, parents are informed and advised to have their child's eyes tested by an optometrist. See more

11.01.2022 Tuesday, our President Lion Julie Pickles had the pleasure to welcome Natalie, Brayden and their families to our Paralowie Lions Club Dinner meeting. These two students represented our club at the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Competition on the 7th November. Both students did a fantastic job and made us all proud; with Natalie receiving an Honourable Mention and Brayden receiving an acknowledgment for being in the finals! As a club we gave them one of our n...ew Bannerette, a voucher and framed their Peace Posters. Both students, their families and our club were excited and rightfully proud to have been a part of this competition. #WeServe #Community #Lions
