22.01.2022 For all the Locals, and all the other Lions Club Members that know of our project, "The Mt Lyell Disaster Memorial Park", We have not slowed on the Idea. Work has been going on behind the scenes, both in the Park and with the building ot the Sculpture Center-Piece. The Sculpture has been recently moved to another Shed for the finishing touchs which will be ongoing for an month or two till completion. The final section of the Rock Wall will also be completed soon, with Painti...ng and other required works on the Fountain structure. Work will also be completed on and off on the surrounding garden section. I will put a description on some of the photos as well. Watch this space,..... we are nearing the end. We have also Nominated this project as a Lions Centennial Community Legacy Project. We would love to hear feedback on what people think of this project etc. See more

21.01.2022 Some of our Photos showing the work on the Garden areas that have 42 King Billy Pines planted in them. There will be a Pine with a Plaque mounted on a cement block for each of the Miners killed in the North Lyell Disaster. (We Now have the Plaques with have the names of each Miner on them) The wide Concrete section on the outside will have a wall built around the outside of the Park Display. ... (This will be started soon). Photos of the Building of the Sculpture to come shortly.

18.01.2022 Fundraising BBQ at Queenstown Market;..... Very successful day given the terrible conditions. A big thank you to first of all; Queenstown Market Committee for their $400 Donation, and to Members of the Public that also gave donations, and of course, those that came down to purchase a Lions Burger and or Snag...... We will be forwarding onto the Australian Lions Foundation Drought Relief Campaign, the Grand total of,...... $1050 to go direct to Australian Farmers. See more

18.01.2022 A couple of Photos showing part of what Our Club has bee working on for around 2 years now North Lyell Memorial Park A Project that is basically being built from the start by Club Members, who originally were only to have a Administrative part, along with minor works etc.... We are now doing the Lot, Including,.. "Building the Rest of the Centerpiece,..The Sculpture". Not a bad effort for a small Club... More Pics to Come,.....Keep checking Back.

15.01.2022 Two members of our Club turned up to Help out a local Pensioner who needed some wood split and stacked. We also noticed that sections of his side fence were falling down. Because of his age and disabilities, we offered to come back and repair the fence for him. Job completed today. He now has a nice neat fence with no bits of string and rope holding it together.....

13.01.2022 Three of our Members attended the District Convention In Scottsdale recently. The first photo is looking towards the stage area with the Convention about to start. The other photo is one taken at the Formal Dinner held at the Scottsdale RSL Club.

13.01.2022 2018 Combined Lions Xmas Get together Held at the Lions Den in Queenstown this year. Thanks to Those from Lions Club of Zeehan for there fellowship. Unfortunately, Rosebery Lions were not able to make it this year. Great spread prepared by Lion Jim. Forgot to get a pick of the Desert Menu, There was heaps.... Followed up with some entertaining games of pool. See more

11.01.2022 One of the Big Fundraisers we do Each Year All funds raised go to Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation. Come along and buy an extra one of our Famous Lions Burger or Snag and support a worthy cause. ... As it will be "Mothers Day",....Buy her one as well....

10.01.2022 One of our Latest Projects; A local needed a Ramp and Pathway installed so as to allow Wheelchair access to his house following a Leg amputation. Our club was approached to help out. We got the ramp constructed, and Paths boxed up in one weekend, and this weekend, Poured the concrete paths, (in the rain)..... Our thanks go out to Lion Strop, (Redimix driver), and Mine Crete for the cement.... Thanks to our members efforts, The resident will now be allowed home on Wednesday. We still have a few bits to finish off, but at least he has access to his house. See more

05.01.2022 The Queenstown Lions were also Busy through-out the Recent Queenstown Heritage & Arts Festival. We worked in the main Food and Drinks Marque set-up in the Mall.as well as supplying members to work at the Gala Ball and various other places throughout the Festival.

04.01.2022 Well the BBQ at the Queenstown Community Market Yesterday was a Hit. Sold out of everything,...Burgers...Snags..& Cordial. Sold a few Christmas Cakes as well. Still plenty left if anyone would like to grab one.

03.01.2022 The Sculpture is now in place in the Mt Lyell Disaster Memorial Park. We have still got a lot of work to do there still, including weed removal, Lots of painting to the Fountain Structure, Wall to be completed and the design and mounting of a large Plague with all the details of sponsors etc of the Park. Keep an eye on this page for updates.

02.01.2022 Another big day at the Community Market day at The Memorial Hall. Had quite a few Tourists flocking for our Famous "Lions Burgers", and a lot of them were very complementary of our food. One overseas Tourist Had a "Double Burger", and then came back for more twice. With only 5 of us there this week, the customers had us on the hop right through to 2pm close. We had Al & Sandra working the the sales, Ross Making the Burgers, and Whit & Strop trying to keep up with the cooking. Thanks to Vicki Nankivell for the Photo.

01.01.2022 To all attending the Queenstown Market this Sunday. The Lions Club members will be Fundraising for The Lions National Drought Relief Appeal. All profits from this BBQ will go directly to The National Appeal. Drop in and help out by Buying a Burger or Snag or Just making a Donation.... If you dont normally drop in to the Market, Then this is a Good reason to this time. See you all There,!!!!!!!

01.01.2022 The Lions Club of Queenstown recently responded to a Fundraiser of the Queenstown Scouts and Cubs Group Our Club donated a Cheque for $1000 towards new equipment which is needed for the thriving Group. 1st Photo is of some of the Scouts and Cubs prior to our members Presenting the Cheque. 2nd Photo is a Group photo with Lions Shane Pitt, (Back 2nd Left in Scout Uniform) and Incoming Lions President Terry Shea, Treasurer Geoff Steele & Secretary Greg Whittington 5th, 4th & 3rd from Right, after the presentation. 3rd Photo shows Incoming President Terry Shea presenting the Cheque.
