16.01.2022 Notice to market patrons and stall holders The Lions Portarlington Market scheduled for 29th March at the W.G. Little Reserve in Newcombe Street Portarlington has been cancelled. We have made this decision in line with Covid-19 public policy advice and our concern for the public health risk involved.... We apologise to everyone on behalf of the Lions Club of Portarlington-Drysdale and hope that future markets will not be similarly affected. Our Market Coordinator will contact all stallholders by email. Thank you for supporting our market.
13.01.2022 Hello Everyone Trevor Hirth from our Lions Club has been collecting donated tools to help farmers and communities rebuild after the devastating bushfires. He has delivered four ute & trailer loads to towns in affected areas of so far. I think his work is inspiring and on behalf of our Club, II want to thank everyone in the greater Geelong region who has donated tools or supported this worthy cause.... Regards Angelo
03.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Sorry to have to post this serious comment. A small, recently started, commercially run market is operating out of Parkes Hall. They are using the words Portarlington and market in their promotion and marketing. This has caused confusion and disappointment with some market goers and visitors to Portarlington who assumed that they are were attending the Lions Portarlington Market.... The Lions Club of Portarlington-Drysdale is in no way connected to, or involved with, the commercial endeavour in Parks Hall. Our volunteer run community market raises funds for charity and local causes and is held on the last Sunday of the month between September and April. Could I please ask any disgruntled patrons or visitors to contact the organiser of the market held in Parkes Hall rather than myself or our Club. Sorry again for having to post this. Regards Angelo
