19.01.2022 It’s good to know what to look for and self checking is an important habit to adopt.

19.01.2022 Mornings with Virginia Trioli Have you had your skin checked? Today is Check4Spots Day, created in honour of Morgan Mansell who passed away from melanoma in 20...18 at just 25 years old. Her dying wish was for people to get regular skin checks to keep themselves safe. Her parents Peter and Julie Mansell join us today to talk about their experience and how important it is to check for spots.

16.01.2022 'Save your child's life', that's the message from grieving parents Peter and Julie Mansell who lost their daughter to melanoma. Today on January 30, Morgan Mans...ell would have celebrated her 27th birthday if a small spot on her ear had not turned into a deadly melanoma. She passed away in 2018 at just 25 years old. Her father Peter told mourners at her funeral of Morgan's dying wish for people to get regular skin checks. "Since then, two people who were at the funeral have told us Morgan's wish prompted them to have checks, which resulted in skin cancers being removed," he said. Peter and Julie Mansell will be joining Virginia Trioli on Mornings for our 9am livestream to tell us about Check4Spots Day created in honour of Morgan.

16.01.2022 THE VAN TAKES SHAPE Progress! Our Skin Check and Awareness Unit begins to take shape. Here are some of the recent photos.

16.01.2022 SUCCESSFUL SHAKEDOWN A highly successful shakedown day was held today, hosted by Haddon Lions Club. Eight of our trained volunteers were very excited to have their first chance to work in the van, with the support of professional Learning Coordinator, Pat and Roster Coordinator, Wendy. It was also a chance for some further driver familiarisation and van and truck checks. A few minor faults and improvements were identified and will be addressed immediately. Many thanks to Ha...ddon Lions Club for their perfect Lions hospitality and for being the "guinea pigs" for the van hosting and operation. Stay tuned for announcements about host club bookings soon. Once we devise and create the processes and communicate them, expressions of interest will be called for. This may be on a District by District basis. See more
