25.01.2022 Im excited to announce Finally we get the green light to get back to training starting on Saturday June 13th. Class sizes are restricted to 10/class so Im working on a 1hr class schedule with a break in between to Covid-clean. I will release a timetable schedule and will take bookings to confirm your places.

23.01.2022 Congratulations to my BJJ white belt students who graded up last night, from 1 stripe to 4th stripe, a really terrific group of people. To my new Blue Belts Vinny Farhart, Nathan Shomar and Kristapob Sujivarodom on an outstanding technique and performance in your hellfire Grappling matches to receive the belt. Sadly Kris will be leaving us with study commitments in WA and I’d like to wish him great success in his studies and life and look forward to catching up with you again in the future.

23.01.2022 I would like to congratulate my good friend and long time student Malcolm Wilbow who I had the privilege of grading him with his first degree on his Black belt recently. Mal is a true gentleman on and off the Mat. His dedication, training/work ethic and good nature and sense of humour are the reason why he is held in high regards.

These ...are the times to work on your weaknesses while you help build their game and confidence. Passing someones guard in training and holding them for 8 minutes no one gets better. 15.01.2022 Hello to all Lions Den members, so glad to be able to let you know that classes will resume from this Saturday 13-6-2020 from this post-Covid break. I hope you are all ready to get back into training and your bodies are well rested and ready. As we are all aware, we are allowed to begin training with some changes. Due to the class restrictions of 10 people in a class I have had to come up with more classes to cater for everyone, this means the class times will be slightly ...shorter so we can all get back into the gym. Parents please note: The restrictions also mean you will need to drop off your children. Please ensure you are on time for pick up to allow for the next class to begin. Further instructions will be given upon confirmation of class booking. As part of the new regulations I will have to record all details and to make the transition smoother I will pre-book class numbers so I dont have to turn people away. I will of course give preference to existing/long time students, this means if you are booking - youre paying (people not turning up will be replaced by others more dedicated). I would be most comfortable to book students to regular weekly day/time sessions not random sessions. Once you are confirmed and payment established, your session/s are permanent (anyone cancelling out of a session wont get a refund). Class fees will remain unchanged however I will be reviewing this over the next fortnight. I am taking bookings as of now today by txt message only on 0416002120, please include your full name, mobile number, class/es day/time you would like to participate in. You will receive a confirmation text message in return. Below is the new timetable from which the classes will run.

10.01.2022 Hi Everyone Gym sanitisation will be priority in light of the effects of Covid-19, please note that all students must wash prior to training and wash hands again upon arrival. All students must have their own boxing gloves and hand wraps (wraps must be washed daily) and shin pads. We will no longer be supplying/loaning equipment. Please wear only clothes that have been washed (single use wear) and have fresh clean towel at each session. Together we can make a difference.

10.01.2022 To all my wonderful students - This is a challenge that we are all in together. It seems that the federal and state authorities are closing all non-essential services; and so with heavy heart, we are going to have to temporarily suspend training for the immediate future. This is a first in 25 years of teaching. I admit feeling a little heartbroken.... We understand that Lions Den Academy is an important part of your life; and in a way helps define who you are. Many of you have assured us of your continued support - as of today, we have placed all membership payments on hold until further notice. As is the case with everyone effected by Social Distancing measures as mandated by the government, we cannot guarantee when we will be able to resume training. We are hoping to be re-opening in 7 weeks time! Earlier if we get the go-ahead. Well keep you informed though. I am looking into creating a Lions Den Training Group on Facebook where I will post videos to include BJJ, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and MMA focusing on skills, drills, footwork technique breakdown etc over the coming weeks. This is an invite only for our members, please contact us if you are interested. Please stay safe, keep healthy and be a positive force within the community. 07.01.2022 Today I had the great pleasure to receive a grading from my Coach John Will for my 3rd dan along side my good friends and long time students Kian Pham and Mark Christie who both received their 2nd dan at Kians academy Cabra Kai. It was nice to catch up and attend the seminar which was a gi seminar for which I had to dig out the old gi and dust it off. Thanks to Michael Stanoff and Jordon Gamble for coming along for the occasion. For me Im a low key guy and Im humbled in such Occasions. Im proud to have heard Kian talk of having 3 generations of coaches and the 4th are really the guys and girls we coach now. The journey continues........
