01.01.2022 Q 3 Convention teaser - Week 5 (20-25 Sept) - sorry for the poor audio- still a gale blowing " Darling Downs Zoo Well were nearly there Lions the countdown is on Have you registered for Convention yet Saturday 3rd October... Were back here at the Darling Downs Zoo and we need to say a special thanks to Stephanie and the guys here especially Qanza and his sister. Did you know a Lion * can run up to a maximum speed of 80 kilometres per hour * could live up to 15 years in the wild * second biggest cat in the world behind Tigers * active during day and at night, but they prefer hunting at night * male Lion can be heard from a distance up to eight kilometres * heaviest Lion on record weighed about 375 kg. The average male Lion weighs is 180 kg, the average female Lion weighs up to 130 kg. * Unlike other cats domesticated included Lions group together in prides. This makes them somewhat similar to canines, who group together in packs ! * Like domesticated cats and dogs, a Lion will mark its territory with urine. This means that it will often urinate to create its own borders. That means other Lions need to stay away! * Ever heard of the term king of the jungle? Its misleading. Lions dont live in jungle environments. They live in deserts, savanna rasslands, green plains and fields. * Lions are also very fast but arent great at running for long periods of time. Remember a Lion can reach a top speed of up to 80 kph. You cant outrun them but those that have a chance just need to count on the cats losing their breath mid-pace! * Female Lions do most of the hard work. (hmmmmmmmmm) They go out and hunt and forage, while males keep guard and protect the pride. We hope youre enjoying our little promos for the Q 3 Convention. It going to be different, but its also going to fun and informative. Dont forget to quickly get registered, once this Zoom booking is release Saturday 3rd October. Humour - knock knock- Why did the Lion spit out the clown ? Because he tasted funny" #Q3Convention2020 #weserve #Q3letsZoom
