16.01.2022 Whitsunday Lions Youth of the Year Club judging for 2020: Last night ( even though the weather was appalling ) we had the absolute pleasure of being addressed b...y 4 VERY inspiring and very thought-provoking young students from the Whitsunday Christian College. Having already completed their interviews during the day, last night they addressed an enthusiastic and appreciative audience of 38. All 4 contestants spoke well and must be congratulated on their prepared speeches & chosen topics. The public speaking and the overall winner on the night went to contestant Thomas Boyd who will go on to represent the club at the Zone level in Collinsville on Sunday 15th March. We would also like to thank the judges for giving up precious time, a big thank you to Pam Harrison, Sgt Billy Li & chair Sian Walker. See more

08.01.2022 The Whitsunday Lions Club will be restarting the Lions Airlie Beach Community Markets on Sat 27th June. After discussions with Whitsunday Regional Council & Qld Health, we have been advised of the required conditions to operate the markets, and will be following these guidelines. There has been good response to this announcement, but we need to clarify that we are moving tentatively with this restart. Until we have seen how this is all going to work, and also bearing in mind ...that this is still uncharted territory for all of us, we are not able to accept any new stall applications. The restart will be strictly limited to existing regular stall holders who have been attending for the months preceding the Covid close. We will have strictly limited room, as stall spacing has increased due to the Qld Health requirements. We are sorry to disappoint any prospective stall holders who wished to take part in the restart of the Markets, and there are quite a few of those. Please be patient, WE WILL GET YOU IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Also please remember that we are all volunteers, and we are doing our best, the phone & emails are running hot, so please give us a bit of space. See more
