24.01.2022 We were very pleased to hand over the 1st prize in our lions club raffle to the successful winner on Sunday. Kevin and his young family drove up for the weekend from Karratha to collect the boat. I think the boat is going to get a lot of use. Congratulations ... The club can now purchase the 2 cancer therapy chairs for Broome hospital.

23.01.2022 As part of the Shinju Matsuri Festival the Rotary Club of Broome Dragon Boat Regatta is on this Saturday at Town Beach Broome. 8am onwards. The Broome Lions will be selling hot dogs and toasted sandwiches to feed the multitudes. All proceeds will be donated to the Lions Clubs Need for Feed program helping our Australian farmers through the severe drought being experienced. The program buys and trucks hay to assist those farmers with feeding their stock. Come on down an...d support a very worthy cause. Thanks to whoever took the dragon boat photos.

22.01.2022 Boat raffle results. Firstly thank you to everyone that supported this very worthwhile cause. We raised sufficient funds to be able to purchase two cancer therapy chairs for the Broome hospital. This will have a significant benefit to those living in the Kimberley and possibly Pilbara region that require certain cancer treatments. ... 16.01.2022 The Lions Club of Broome have hosted their last meeting for 2019 and presented several awards to members. Brian Pernich was awarded Life Membership for his remarkable 31 years (and counting) of service to the Broome community through Lions, while Allan Batt, Phil Telfer and Simon Penn were presented James D Richardson Honour Awards for outstanding community service. Congratulations!

12.01.2022 Sammy the Dragon is soaring over Male Oval once again! A feature of Shinju Matsuri for more than 30 years has been the sight of Sammy the Dragon up in lights and flying over Male Oval, thanks to the Lions Club of Broome. But unfortunately this feature has been missing from Shinju for the past few years after the old Sammy lights became unserviceable. Since then the Lions Club of Broome has been hard at work in the community and has raised $10,000, as well as securing a furth...er $10,000 from the Commonwealth Government Stronger Communities Fund which allowed us to buy brand new 18m-wide, state-of-the-art LED Sammy the Dragon lights. Were pleased to announce that Member for Durack Melissa Price MP has flicked the switch and Sammy should be back up in lights tonight! Thanks to those who have helped get Sammy back flying including BK Signs & Promotions, North West Trim & Shade, Cable Beach Electrical Service and H&M Tracey - we cant wait for the sun to go down!

12.01.2022 While the Lions Club of Broome Broome Mango Festival is unfortunately not happening this year, the Lioness Club of Broome will still host the Mango Jams, Cakes and Chutneys competition this Saturday, 28 November, at Primewest Broome Boulevard shopping centre!

07.01.2022 WHO WANTS TO WIN A BOAT?! Lions Club of Broome kick off their boat raffle on Saturday 22 June to raise funds to help fit out the Broome Hospitals new Cancer Care Treatment ( Tele Chemo / Tele Oncology) Facility. This new facility will enable people living in the region to have specialist treatment in Broome rather than flying to Perth. Funds raised by the raffle over the next three months will be used to buy two Bionic Therapy Chairs and other much-needed equipment for patients undergoing treatment. Look for the Lions Boat at the Broome Races this Saturday and around town in coming months, with tickets just $10 and the winner drawn in September. Come on down and support this great cause!
