22.01.2022 For many years now Ararat Lions have proudly worn their yellow colors but like everything it’s time for a change. Hope you like them?

22.01.2022 Moving forward with Convention

21.01.2022 Get ready Lions Zoomers, 2020 Convention coming soon. Filming day tomorrow. Fingers cross the day goes smoothly. 3days jammed into one day. We can do it #lionsdistict201v2 #araratlions

21.01.2022 The 2020 Convention planned for this year has been on a roller coaster ride. With COVID-19 Restrictions still in place the Committee have decide to proceed as a Zoom Convention. As disappointed as we are that the Lions community can not visit our area this year we hope that we can still present to members of the 201V2 District a wonderful Convention. #WeServe

15.01.2022 We continue with our Member profile and next is Mary Schwencke. Mary joined Lions back in 2009 as a Lions lady and later in 2013 became a Lion. Mary loves being a Lion Member, she says it’s rewarding and she gets to meet some wonderful people. You will regularly see Mary at our Saturday BBQ in Barkly St working hard and keeping us all in line. Mary has been our cheeky Lions Twister for several years and loves to get some tales on members for our social nights. Mary has also enjoyed taking on Membership roles and inviting people to join Lions. Mary is also our Welfare Chairman and looks after the well-being of our Members. ********* If you think that Lions Club is for you or would like some more info please contact Rosi here or call 0409542560 for more Info.

13.01.2022 Lions V District Cancer Foundation are looking for volunteers The ever-growing team of dermoscopists are busy undertaking their certificated training, with ...the first qualified trainees completing the course. BUTthey need more! This project is far-reaching and it is important that they have a large team of trained skin-checkers to call on. Whilst some will be willing to volunteer regularly, as with any volunteering, they don’t wish to stretch people beyond their willing service. Go to the web site for further information and to express interest: http://lionsvdcf.org.au #V2DistrictCancerFoundation #LionsCancer #District201V2 See more

10.01.2022 Xmas is nearly here and Lions Cakes are ready for your celebrations. Cake or pudding they make a perfect gift for that someone who has everything or just to say Thank you! #araratruralcitycouncil

10.01.2022 Next Member Profile I would like to introduce our Secretary for 20-21 Annette METCALFE. Annette has the important job of administration, gathering and distributing information for our Club members. Annette was also Secretary for the year 14-15 & 15-16 and has help organize our social functions. *********** I joined Ararat Lions Club 9 years ago, after my youngest child left for university. Ararat had been a great place for us to raise our family, and with more time on my ...hands I was ready to give back to my community. I enjoy being part of a club and working with people towards common goals. I enjoy the new friendships I have made within the Lions club. The most satisfying aspect of being a Lions member is giving away the money we raise. We work tirelessly providing community bbqs and we earn a good amount of money which we happily put back into our local community. Our support is quite wide and varied from supporting other clubs, health services or individual families going through tough times. We also support disasters and research projects both in Australia and overseas. Lions clubs go quietly about their work, but they do a great job for their local and broader communities. #WeServe See more

08.01.2022 This Wednesday night Ararat Club had the pleasure of hosting a dinner for DG Delwyn Seebeck along with members from Willaura and Stawell Club at the Ararat RSL. It was great to meet together again after a long year of COVID Restrictions. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Ararat CEO Dr Tim Harrison with his Wife Jane as well. Unfortunately I was not able to attend this night where Delwyn presented me with a James D Richardson Award on behalf of our Club. It was a shock and honor to receive this, Thank you

07.01.2022 Been a big quiet lately lots going on with Convention next week but I thought I’d better do another Profile. Me! Lions has been a very big part of my life now for nearly 20 years. I love what we do for our community wether it’s raising funds cooking snags on the BBQ or helping some one or families that have a need. Over the years I’ve taken on Officer roles as Treasurer, Membership and Secretary. My role now as well as Membership is keeping the Community informed through the social network. With this year being somewhat different the Lions have been staying home but now are very keen to get out there again face to face! We are always looking for new members to help support this wonderful Club. If you think Lions can fit your lifestyle please contact us here or ph 0409542560. We would love to see you.

01.01.2022 With our Zoom Convention now completed and life starting to get back to normal. Ararat Lions will be out and about stocking our Lion’s Mints, getting ready to sell our yummy Xmas cakes & puddings , also working on getting our Sat BBQ happening again. Fundraising is an all year round event and we are always looking for new members to inspire new ideas. Have you got an interest in your community, are you wanting to help others but not sure where to start? Lions can help! One little step can lead to big footprints. Become a Lion We Serve
