02.01.2022 Hestra Riley (Bundaberg Nth Lions) is a recently appointed Director of Lions Camp Duckadang. Her message is - why not come and see for yourself the camp facili...ties. Our Q 1,3 & 4 Board members extends an invitation for you (Lions) to consider bringing a few of your children/grandchildren with you. They could road test our many facilities - basketball, climbing tower, low ropes, jumping castle, ping pong, putt putt, see saw, swimming pool, tennis and water sports. Yes we have a large body of water allowing canoeing/swimming and even catch some fish. We’ve even seen people panning for gold. At night observe the heavens using our telescope. Bookings essential - due to COVID restrictions Event booking form located at - https://201q3.lions.org.au/news#nid09172020013237PM Somerset Regional Council - attractions https://www.somerset.qld.gov.au//business-and-/category/29 Look forward to seeing you at Camp Duckang in the future or you can take a peak http://campduckadang.com.au/

02.01.2022 Lions Clubs International Foundation- fundraising 1. Money envelopes -raise funds by collecting members/anyone's loose change. At your next dinner meeting/whene...ver, hand this envelope to the Club Treasurer. They are a distinct envelope with our Logo and is easily recognised. Please contact me for supplies. 2. Australian Lions Council of Governors are supporting the concept for Clubs clubs be asked to donate a percentage of their Christmas Cake sales this year to LCIF. A three sided desk poster has been created. This was a suggestion because of the pandemic and the lack of fund raising happening in Australia Lions Clubs at present. Personally I wonder about this method but as the District Chairman I am obliged to pass this information on. My Club has already donated $12,000 to LCIF and I am loathe to go back and ask for some of their Christmas cake profits. I guess it is up to us to advise our Club members and remind them not to shot the messenger (Goldie). 3. Campaign 100 has been extended another year because of the pandemic. We have an extra 12 months to make our donations of US$100 per member for 3 years, i.e., US$300 over 4 years instead of 3 years. Thank you to those Lions that are contributing to Campaign 100. Carmel & I are due to make my next yearly installment soon. I once again can only ask that as members of our great organisation we donate to this worthy cause. My Club donated the US$100 per member for 3 years (28 members) in one donation. This would be an ideal way to donate if you are a smaller Club and a great way to recognise your members work in the Community. As always I am available to speak at your Club meeting if you wish and with a little notice I can be there at your meeting. Carmel will accompany me generally so you get 2 for 1, and an insight into Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation and Lions Quest. I have sent a moderated version of this document out to the Clubs. You may see this email appear in your club. It's because I have only a small percentage of Clubs who have appointed an LCIF Chairman. Thank you PDG Robert ( Bob) Goldsworthy 201Q3 L.C.I.F. Chairman
