25.01.2022 At our recent Dinner Meeting the Lions Club of Murwillumbah welcomed guests form our local RFS. Our appreciation of the tireless and hard work of the RFS was demonstrated with the presentation of a donation to Troy Hodges and Don Bentley by Lion Bill Rowe. Our club will endeavour to support our local RFS whenever possible.

21.01.2022 Thursday 25 April is Anzac Day. After the March why not spend the afternoon at the Murwillumbah Races. Lions will be on hand helping out, and there’s a huge seafood platter to be raffled.

18.01.2022 Lions sausage sizzle held at IGA supermarket Saturday 7 March to promote Lions Awareness Day. Many thanks to all those Lions who helped on the day and a special thank you to IGA Murwillumbah for their on going support each year for this event.

16.01.2022 Tonight our guest was Bob Kearsey, President of the Uki Pythons Soccer Club. He told us about their activities with the juniors. In turn we were pleased To present him with a donation cheque.
16.01.2022 Christmas in July is always a highlight of our year. We welcomed members of Kingscliff Lions and Apex who joined a good turnout of Murwillumbah Lions for a great night of merriment. Once again Emogen entertained us following her successful trip to USA including a recording session in Nashville.

15.01.2022 Today is Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday therefore it’s also Lions Line of Coins Day. Look at all these lovely Lions shepherding the coins and notes tossed by the generous people of Murwillumbah. This year it’s all in support of Palliative Care and Wedgetail Retreat. Many thanks as always to the staff of Dinki Di who provide the Easter eggs.

Our final Christmas Dinner Meeting for the year was held at Brothers Leagues Club where a good time was had by all Lions members and guests. Lara Parsons (Junior President) and Leigh Shackell told us about this awesome club. Cathie Dowling presents cheque to Murwillumbah Netball Association, Gloria Ryder told us about the efforts for the juniors.

10.01.2022 Tonight we were treated to a return visit from Charlie Priest. Charlie has recently returned from her trip to Glasgow for training and performance with Scottish Youth Orchestra for which we assisted with funding. Tonight she played the Concertino by Cecile Chaminade which will be part of her audition for Brisbane Conservatorium where she hopes to undertake a B.Mus.(Performance). Attached is a 30s snippet which attests to her skill. We wish Charlie all the best in her future career.

06.01.2022 Welcome to our 71st Changeover Dinner. Attended by members and partners, representatives of other service clubs, representatives of local community organisations who receive support from Lions, and other guests. A great time was had by all.
05.01.2022 Last night we welcomed 1st Vice District Governor Narelle Parkins . Narelle has a very impressive CV spanning many years in Lions. Presently the Youth Exchange Chair for Q1. Thank you Narelle for your insights into the future of Lions.
05.01.2022 Charlie Priest spoilt us tonight with her beautiful flute. Good luck in your future endeavours. So glad we could help, it was a privilege listening to Charlie play. Charlie is off to Scotland to play with the International Ensemble Program of Scotland.

03.01.2022 At our last Dinner Meeting our guests were Lauren Kirkby and her mother Sandi. Lauren has received sponsorship from the Lions Club of Murwillumbah to try out for a college football ( soccer ) scholarship in the United States. Lauren recently traveled to the U.S. with a team of other hopeful scholarship seekers for a series of friendly matches and as a result she was offered several placements with U.S. colleges. Lauren has yet to decide which offer to accept. Our club wishes her all the best for her future career. Lion John Woodward received a tab for 27 years attendance. Thank you John for your continued work with Lions as our club Treasurer.
