Third grade carried the club on Saturday as the boys came away with the treats against the Roodogs. Reserve grade came so close to completing a fairytale comeback but were pipped at the end of the game. Our Prems showed flashes of brilliance but were outplayed by a classy Wanneroo outfit.... A former Scotland international, PRO14 player, NRL player and Australian 7s consultant coach, Ben will be an outstanding addition to Southern Lions. Ben brings a wealth of international and professional experience with him. ... Ben has the experience, desire and ambition to get Southern Lions into finals rugby year in year out. A big welcome to Ben. We're also delighted to announce that Sisa Waqa, ex NRL Grand Final winner, French Top14 player and Fiji international will join the coaching team as Backs Coach. Sisa joined the club for the 2020 season and will transition into the role of Coach/Player for 2021. He will be a massive playing and guiding professional influence on our players and we’re excited to see how he takes on this new challenge. A big welcome to the coaching team, Sisa. The combination of Ben and Sisa promises exciting times ahead. Ben will arrive in January. Sisa is working with Ben now on our preseason training program. In combination, with our new S&C trainer Jonny Vincenti at V-Athletic, the coaches will bring a stronger and fitter squad in 2021. We're also in talks with an ex Super Rugby player to be our Forwards coach. More to be announced at the earliest. Exciting times are ahead for Southern Lions and 2021 promises much.
