25.01.2022 History of Tahmoor Lions. Our club was sponsored by the Campbelltown with the formation meeting held at the Tahmoor Inn on Friday 3rd March 1972. Our club was presented with its Charter by the then District Governor Norm Jarvis, at the Shire Hall in Picton. Our Major Projects have been :- 2013 BUSH FIRES - where we set out to raise money to help volunteer fire brigade buy necessary equipment to fight the fires and to help and support our community that had lost property.... 2015 SPECIAL NEED KIDS - Building a vegetable garden and sandpit at Tahmoor Public School. 2016 FLOODS - June 2016 Picton and parts of Tahmoor were flooded causing substantial damage to both private dwelling and businesses. Organized volunteers to help with the clean up and raise much needed funds to help the community recover. 2017 - 2019 WOLLONDILLY DROUGHT We sponsored the Dilly Drought Drive and helped raise much needed funds to obtain feed, water and other items to help the farmers stay on their farms. PRESENT - We support Breast cancer patience's by sponsoring and supplying materials to volunteers to enable them to sew items like "Breast Care Support Cushions" Chemo Caps/Turbans and surgical drainage bag holders. Which are a vital part of the recovery process and provide much needed support after surgery for women and men recovering from breast cancer. We supply four local hospitals. We are also have supporters for this project including - Picton Patchwork, McGrath Foundation, Mother Hubbard Company.
