24.01.2022 Oh was it on Sunday with everything sizzling!! I’m a little worried that our Captain cannot keep up with us - sitting down!!!!!?

23.01.2022 Another BBQ last Sunday kept everyone busy.

23.01.2022 Even though we are all self isolating and unable to be with family and friends this Easter, we are all finding various ways to connect. Whether through live-streams, especially for those who participate in all the services in the lead up to Easter Sunday, multi-media hook ups with family via eg Zoom, which allows more than one hook up at a time and many other means. All this vital for our continued wellbeing. So I say, thank you for all the support we have around us (Care army eg and others), for our health frontline workers and many businesses who have become creative in survival. Lastly, keep safe, keep smiling!

22.01.2022 A very special birthday for Elaine at last Sundays social. Hope you had a great weekend of celebrations. With family and friends.

22.01.2022 5 days ago we saw the poles and trusses erected, now it’s in readiness to pour the slab. Excellent work to the crew of Bantan Nau School.

22.01.2022 Showing the new urn and 2 new hotwater containers we purchased for Rosies, Friends on the Street. The old ones looked terrible inside so these will be put to good use.

22.01.2022 Might be a little bit windy and chilly but we are out there in Moss St. at Repco, cooking up the works: bacon eggs sausages and onions! Come and get it! Have a chat too.

22.01.2022 We remember them. https://m.youtube.com/watch Continue to take care over this coming weekend. We are together as one - we are Australian . Enjoy the special song.

22.01.2022 Great work!! The slab has been done. Now ready for the pottery wheel etc to be placed by the teachers. Good to see the students have found a use for the area meanwhile. Next stage will be to connect water, power and electricity, all essential to making lovely pottery pieces. Look forward to sharing more of this story in due course.

21.01.2022 The strength of our club are the great people who join us in friendship and to uphold the Lions ‘we serve’ Welcome to Becky and Kate. They were inducted by Narelle our District Governor. Congratulations!! We are one, but we are many, And from all the lands on earth we come.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to Greg Nothling for reaching 50 years membership with Lions Club International!Congratulations to Greg Nothling for reaching 50 years membership with Lions Club International!

21.01.2022 Further to our September Spring gathering today, I share this with all our members, supporters and wider community.

21.01.2022 Some more creations.

20.01.2022 Our first social meeting for 2021 started off with a bang with a presentation of a Diamond centenary pin. Congratulations VP1. Our raffles were all handmade prizes by member Lynda. Thank you. A great feast snd wonderful to meet up with everyone again.

20.01.2022 Time to acknowledge all volunteers currently supporting those in need during Covid-19. Also those who are going the extra mile to make our busy health workers lives easier. To all fellow Lions and volunteers the world over: To be a volunteer, it takes...... Generosity, a willingness to give your time to others Understanding, because their lives might be very different from your own Empathy, an ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes and feel what they must feel Compassion, to truly care about making someone else's life better Patience, because the process doesn't always go as smoothly as it might Dedication, to stick with the project and see it through. Well always be there. HAPPY VOLUNTEERS WEEK

19.01.2022 A glorious Saturday at Meadowbrook Golf Club and a lovely way to celebrate and share stories with our Club members. Mindful of our current COVIDSafe restrictions, we had our September social here today. Once again the club did us proud with the selection of platters selected by our enterprising VP2. We shared the day with a presentation, acknowledging 39 and 49 years anniversaries, a milestone birthday, a wonderful welcome to 2 guests and a returning member after a little break. This is the strength of our club.

18.01.2022 CPR Awareness Leader of Metro South LASN,Logan and Districts LAC has announced their new arrival. A girl, named Little Baby QCPR. Our club were delighted to support this great initiative. She says ma when she wakes, and if she chokes after 5 back blows and chest thrust, she cries, as long as her head is in the correct position not to far back, or to far forward, then when the object is out she cries, ah! time for cuddle. She is longer than baby Anne. ... When doing CPR on her, the iPad will tell you if your hand is in the correct place or not, if her head is tilted to far back or to far forward so no air can go into her lungs. This is going to be very popular in teaching the Community.

18.01.2022 Boxes posted in July have finally arrived.. items will be allocated to Paddaya, Dodan and Tallungan Primary School..on Calayan island.

18.01.2022 Our November social was a wonderful gathering of most members in a very relaxed environment, of the Springwood Park. We had a demonstration by Yumiko, Marcia and Warren from Beenleigh Ambulance of the very special baby purchased by our club last year, all the way from America!

16.01.2022 Yes this was a great night. So special and wonderful to catch up with everyone.

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Tony Firman on 50 years of dedicated service to Lions, from the Lions Club of Logan Underwood.

16.01.2022 Hello to all our supporters. Our tasty BBQ was very popular today with long social distancing lines and sanitisation in place. Where theres a will there a way, they say and indeed here we are again much to patrons delight.

15.01.2022 A Fantastic Changeover dinner last night at the Meadowbrook Golf Club the food was beautifully presented with a thinly sliced watermelon radich and target beetroot adorning the plate. A perfect evening.

15.01.2022 For the past 2 weeks 2 of our wonderful members volunteered to do the Repco (NAPA) BBQs. Social distancing measures in place did not stop the customers enjoying the best sausages bacon and eggs around!!

15.01.2022 I saw this recently and forgive me for pasting it in, thought yes, that is true.

14.01.2022 Preparing to bag 80 kg of sausages today!!

12.01.2022 With all the excitement of starting our BBQs seems that our first social back together was missed. The August social brought a happy occasion for members to get back together after many COVIDSafe months in lockdown.

12.01.2022 Yesterday we had an extra full members meeting. Vote taken meeting closed. We then tried our hand at Ikebana style flower arrangements under the guidance and skills of Yumiko. She brought along some low shaped bowls and the base prongs to help us stand up the arrangements. It was a beautiful relaxing afternoon tea. The gentlemen were chatting in the background, more than happy to watch!

12.01.2022 And to add to another great social event yesterday, Angel recognised for her special charity in a remote part of the Phillipines.

12.01.2022 At last we have come out of hibernation with a trial run BBQ at Bunnings yesterday. We all had to adapt to new regulations and different conditions. Our Captain for the day said that everyone handled the change very well. International Lionss President, Dr. Jung-Yul Choi, says places around the world, where there is need, there are Lions. That is our strength and the inspiration for my presidential theme, United in Kindness and Diversity.... So with new challenges ahead, our club will continue to serve in the spirit of Lions and in fellowship of all members and friends within our Community and further afield.

11.01.2022 The Lions Club of Logan Underwood might be inactive but are we? I think not ! Our focus is on family, friends, the elderly, the community and what isolation is to them. Our life is over run by Covid19 but lately Ive noticed a change - one of encouragement, of hope and love - thats what we are about. So - have a listen to the link of the four candles found at the end of this STORY INSPIRATION - The Four Candles - A Powerful Story of Hope! Have you ever felt despair...? Perhaps some things were going wrong in your life, or you had been under intense pressure and felt overwhelmed? Can you remember what helped you out of that situation? For many, it starts with a feeling of hope, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Here's a wonderful story about the power of hope, and how it can ignite us when we feel low! The Four Candles burned slowly. Their Ambiance was so soft you could hear them speak... The First Candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit." Then Peace's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely. The Second Candle said, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer indispensable." Then Faith's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely. Sadly The Third Candle Speaks, "I Am Love and I haven't the strength to stay lit any longer. People put me aside and don't understand my importance. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them." Waiting no longer, Love goes out completely. Suddenly...A child enters the room and sees the three candles no longer burning. The child begins to cry, "Why are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the end!" Then The Fourth Candle speaks gently to the little child, "Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we can re-light the other candles." With Shining Eyes the child took the Candle Of Hope and lit the other three candles. Never let the Flame Of Hope go out of your life. With Hope, no matter how bad things look and are...Peace, Faith and Love can Shine Brightly in our lives https://www.google.com/url

08.01.2022 News Flash! Good news is few and far between these days. However, good news about the many boxes sent to the Calayan island have arrived safely before the COViD 19 lockdown. Our member has said that they are definitely not travelling anymore but all the school items are ready to be distributed before school opening in June. Parts of her hometown she says, are in lockdown including the island that we are going to.Keep safe all!!

08.01.2022 Face masks being made by a member for the club.

07.01.2022 A long walk through the town of Tin Csn Bay and around the foreshore back to our caravan and passed the Lions Park of the bay. When you start travelling around the various states of Australia you will always come across many wonderful Lions parks especially out west. We serve.

07.01.2022 Watching the news tonight had made me feel a little emotional, a little strange, a little different but one we will not forget. What ever we did in our streets, wherever we were, it was special! Above all, we are proud Australians and Lion members. https://www.google.com/url

03.01.2022 With permission: YouTube from the Beenleigh Achord choir in 2015 in commemoration of the ANZACs. We were singing it currently but like all things, are in isolation! But I would like to share this from a relatively local group in Logan City. https://youtu.be/GoSe-aL8sdk

03.01.2022 And the party rolls on!

01.01.2022 One tends to forget the aftermath clean up. I know repeated photos from last post, but where would we be without this special man!!
