Join us to connect with other guys in our community, participate in a walk on the foreshore, hear a presentation by psychologist Wayne McIntosh then hang around for something tasty from the BBQ supported by Rio Tinto, Dardanup Butchering Company - South West, Rise&Co and Rok Kombucha. Connecting meaningfully with dads and other significant men in their lives can be incredibly valuable. Effective communication doesn’t always come easily for all concerned with negative implications on relationships, life skills and mental wellbeing. We are inviting all interested young and older men to come and walk plus listen to local Counselling Psychologist, Wayne McIntosh, discuss communication challenges and opportunities at this time of life. Wayne works with boys, men and families every day and has some great insights on strategies to help reset patterns for more effective dialogue, create more quality times and build stronger relationships.

11.01.2022 A few months ago we were approached by two nursing homes with dementia units for some assistance with the purchase of a Tovertafel "magic table" https://leef.com.au//files/Tovertafel_Overview_INFO_PDF.pdf Based on scientific research, Tovertafel is an interactive ‘projector’ that uses light, colour and music to stimulate, physical, social, and cognitive activity. You don’t need to understand the technology to engage with it it’s completely intuitive and can be shared with ...families and friends of all ages even children. The cost of these wonderful machines are $15000 inclusive of GST. We have had a third verbal conversation with another nursing home in our Vasse / Busselton community. This is a project undertaking of $45, 000. We have no doubt with the communities backing we will get this done. We have broken the project down to one machine at a time, therefore making the project more manageable. We have applied for Australian Lions Foundation funding for $6818. This has been approved in principle and will be paid down on us reaching the final amount needed for the machine. We currently have around $1000 left to raise for the first machine to come to fruition. Our Mega Wood Raffle is a major way you can assist us, the tickets are $2 each and the wood has been purchased from Bill's Firewood the prize being good quality jarrah. Bill's have offered us a discount. This is drawn on the 20th of April, 2021 and you will see us at various locations around the community selling tickets. You can also purchase on line by contacting the page. We also have our fruit cakes and mints with us at every ticket selling venue. This month we have a lucky number board with the prize being a $100 note. Guess the last two digits of the note correctly and it is yours. Lastly we have a fundraising event with Barefoot Books Busselton on the 24th of April, 2021. I apologise for the long post, if you have got this far, I sincerely hope that you can find a way to assist us in our quest.

We got to sit back on the lawn and listen to the lovely Laine Wolfe, on a beaut...iful Saturday afternoon, with Beer or wine, browsing the markets and find those treasures. Our wine was donated by Driftwood Estate Margaret River, Sandleford Winery, Credaro Wines and Woody Nook Wines The Vasse Lions providing the Bar, Burgers and those wonderful Strawberry Icecreams. Many volunteers bought this together. Then we found some time for a social meet up with Lion members and their families at The Quill Collective.
