12.01.2022 Today 14 Lions and 2 members of the Dragon Boat Club met at the Pavilion for Lap the Map for Diabetes. Across Australia over 280 people are diagnosed with diabetes every day so today was to encourage Australians to get outside and stay active. Across Australia Lap the Map Day aimed to move a combined distance that exceeds Australia's circumference of 25760km. There are 1200 Lions Clubs across Australia so if each Club completed 22km this distance would be reached. Today our club walked 53km. Proud of you all.
12.01.2022 The furry ears for the deaf and hard of hearing Lions Hearing Dogs not only increase the quality of day-to-day living, they also help alleviate many of the conditions often associated with deafness and hard of hearing, these being depression, anxiety and communication withdrawal. You can assist this wonderful service by buying a Hearing Dog calendar and other merchandise at Gateway Plaza this week. Lions Christmas Cakes and Pudding also available.
