Flickering is immediately visible, but the so-called stroboscopic effect is more difficult to observe if you dont know what to look for. Unbeknowns to me, this bulb was no longer made, it had been replaced by a smaller one, so I bought one to try it, and fortunately it fits. So now I know where and which bulbs to buy.
