25.01.2022 Facebook, it’s been awhile since I shared some updates here on my Lisa Berney Fitness page! Here’s one thing that’s been happening My very first job as a trainer in the fitness industry back in 2016 was at @f45training_morningside ... I went on to work as Head Trainer within the F45 world for well over a year before I went into running my own PT biz and investing more of my time into one to one clients and online clients. Now, here we are... Fast forward a few years, still coaching clients online but also now 100% owners of @f45training_morningside Thanks to the mega babes who surprised me with this sweet congrats balloon the other day So grateful for the community at our studio And so grateful and appreciative of my other half, Ross He helps make everything possible

Let’s talk about eliminating / banning food / food groups and why it’s not the answer to you achieving your body composition goals. Cutting out and / or banning certain foods or food groups can set you up for a poor relationship with food while categorising foods into a good v bad category and potentially create disordered eating habits.... Rather than eliminate, incorporate! Incorporating some of your favourite foods and / or treats will mainly assist with adherence to your ‘diet’ and make it all the more sustainable What’s life without some chocolate and a glass of wine or two on occasion?! www.lisaberneyfitness.com

You also underestimate the effort that goes into achieving a fat loss / body composition goal. You get overwhelmed. You give up.... Sound in anyway familiar? The reality is that slow and steady does indeed work. Chipping away. Making steady progress. Not starving yourself. Not over training. Not self loathing. Trusting the process. Trusting your coach. Being honest with yourself, your adherence and your consistency. Owning it when you have an off day or week, recognising that you are human and we’re chasing progress, not perfection. 09.01.2022 Last week, I released my FIRST EVER PODCAST This has been something that I had a niggling urge to do for quite some time so I grabbed the bull by the horns and just went for it I was asked, 'what will you talk about?!' ... My response, 'A bit of this, a bit of that....!' Apple kindly approved my Podcast TODAY so my first episode is LIVE right now! I got my partner, Ross, in on this first podcast - it was great, he was great! We really enjoyed doing this podcast together. It's very casual, cruisey chat between the both of us. 05.01.2022 Are you setting out to pursue a fitness / health / personal goal? I often hear how others are afraid of being judged or embarrassed about sharing their pursuit. Being judged by those closest to them, friends, family etc. ... A piece of simple advice I often share is, if you continue to allow the opinion of others hold you back, you will never get too far on your pursuit. When I set out on my own personals goals many years ago, I was so afraid and embarrassed about what others would think of me. I’ve got many smart and snide comments passed over the years. It took awhile for me to understand that anytime someone passed such remarks, it was always more a reflection on them and not me! Sharing my journey on social media at the start was scary. ‘What would they think?’ ‘Will they laugh at me?’ ‘Will they think I’m up myself for sharing selfies?’ People can think what they want! You are your most important person. Go after whatever it is that you want to achieve! Share your goals! Create that Instagram page to share your journey. You never know who you might inspire and motivate! ‘Doubt kills more dream than failure ever will’

While over consumption of anything won’t be favourable should you be pursuing body composition goals, alcohol in moderation can fit into your life but it’s important that you do understand the word ‘moderation’ and the caloric content of your alcohol choices Cocktails are always going to be the least favourable, most ranging from approx 200 / 250 calories upwards (per drink). ... How good is a @missmoneypennysnoosa limoncello though?!
