The most successful eCommerce founders choose to invest their time and money into 1-2 marketing or growth strategies *before* moving onto the next thing. Upskill > consistency > optimise > scale. ... A common trap I see small to medium eCommerce founders fall into is putting a lot of time and energy into doing a little bit of everything yet seeing only moderate results. I find business owners feel its safer or easier to hedge their bets across multiple channels and spread out their efforts vs getting laser-focused on just one or two strategies. 15.01.2022 What is your message? Here's a truth bomb for you: Faceless eCommerce brands don't work. Today's consumers want to see and connect with the person behind the brand. It's time to embrace your story and sing it from the rooftops! Here are some questions to start pondering:... what is the message you're trying to communicate? how are your brand and products different? who you want to attract? (get specific!) what emotional response are you trying to create? what can your customers really rally behind? We are so close to our brands and businesses, it's hard to see our own story or appreciate it's beauty, value, and worthiness! I see this all the time. Women down-play just how interesting and important their story is - and don't get me started on putting their face to their brand! I get a real buzz helping women define their story and then embody it in every piece of marketing they do. This is often a real turning point for a growing eCommerce brand. One of the greatest barriers to this is how women view their worthiness of financial, time, and emotional investment into themselves and therefore their own success. ... No one can change this but ourselves. No amount of marketing or avoidance is going to shift a mindset of "I'm not important enough" or "I'm happy with mediocre" or "my husband's career is more important" or "I'll just keep going and see what happens". 08.01.2022 A CV-19 story with a happy ending? Yes! When things went pear-shaped a few weeks ago, I started to meet with my clients over Zoom and chat through how they were feeling. We looked at possible short-term and long-term scenarios and in some cases, we came up with solutions to help soften the bumps ahead. For one client, that was broadening her product range. Why? Because we knew the needs of her ideal customer were about to change given isolation. So adding products that help...ed her customers with their new pain points, meant her brand remained relevant and in need even during a crisis. Diversifying her range was something she had thought about before, but this was the push she needed to take that leap. How did it work out? Well, this was the message she posted in my private group last night! In just one day she hit 50% of Aprils revenue target we set back in Jan. Yassss Queen! Because theyve tried the back-to-front way and thats cost them a lot of time, energy and $$. Growing a strong and sustainable online business does take order and focus. Especially if youre also juggling family, home, and taking care of yourself. There is only so much you can do well at once. ... Jumping all in is thrilling, fast, and furious. But that level of steam can only take you so far. You either collapse in a heap from doing too much, or your business collapses because you havent built those strong foundations first. Which way appeals to you right now? Steady or fast?
