25.01.2022 How nice was the weather this weekend, it certainly made for a great kids day at the funny farm on Saturday ponies , pig, and donkeys with lots of fun learning confidence, trust and kindness

25.01.2022 What makes you, you? I had a beautiful equine coaching session today with a very special lady. I never know where these sessions are going to lead as I allow my horses to show us what wants to be addressed. Today what showed up was beautiful , because as mothers we quite often get in the habit of supporting partners, children and our households and careers, that before we know it we have forgotten the things that make us who we are. We very soon put our own needs aside to fu...lfil the needs of family and work commitments. The conversation is usually about how we find work/ family balance but what about us. There are things that we need to keep our hearts and our energy full enough to hold all the things that require our attention. That thing that is just ours, that place we can go to to recharge or be held in our pain and exhaustion on the tough days, that thing that opens up our hearts and makes us smile when we are angry and frustrated, that thing that brings us back to our centre. Today my horses took my client back to a painful memory of loosing her dog some 13 years ago. She was reminded of her need for a connection to animals as her place to land when life gets tough. But sometimes when we loose these furry family members it is so painful to open our hearts again and to risk loving at that depth again, so we go without. But a part of our soul suffers as it seeks that connection everywhere but never finds it. Now this doesnt mean that we are not filled with love and joy from our partners, children and friends. But for some people they cannot live without the devoted companionship of animals. I am one of these people, my heart is refuelled and I am filled with satisfaction when I connect with my animals and could not do the things I do without them. My horses, dog and cat have co-parented my children, they have sat on beds of broken hearted children, they have listened when no one else would, they have made us all smile when times got heated. But most of all, they always greet me with a smile, a galloping neigh, a piggy grunt and smile, a chicken cluck. I can be tired and frustrated with the weight of the world but as soon as I enter their presence the weight lifts. If you are one of these people and its been awhile since you opened your heart to a furry friend, then I urge you to take the risk. Yes it may come with some pain when we outlive them but what I know for sure is that the benefits of the years they devote to us are well worth it. Animals teach me every day how to be a better version of myself, they love unconditionally and are happy to tell you when you fall out of alignment with yourself without holding a grudge. They are truly a gift to the human race...x

25.01.2022 With a very heavy heart I will be closing my massage practice as of 12pm tonight. As the governments restrictions around social distancing grow stronger I can no longer operate within the framework on offer and provide you with a worthwhile or safe treatment. I said I would stay open until I couldnt and unfortunately that time is now. I will however be opening up a space online for Life and Leadership Coaching to help get any of my clients through these terribly tough times ...so watch this space as I plan for that in the very near future.. My Equine Leadership Academy is still open and maybe this is a great time to try something new. If you are booked in for one of these sessions there is no changes it will be business as normal as we are outdoors one on one. We can still have contact via messages so please let me know how you are all going. I will miss you all but I will be back when this finishes. Be safe, make smart choices and love one another x

24.01.2022 Its business as usual for us here under stage three restrictions. Please remember your mask and cancel if you have any Ill symptoms. Stay safe stay smart x

23.01.2022 One of the things that I am really passionate about in my work is the encouragement of healthy relationships in all ages and between species and of course the relationship with ourselves. I personally love this chart as it really outlines some of the things that I work with here in not only my coaching spaces but also in my massage spaces. In caring for our own body it is important to follow all the same guidelines as we do for a healthy relationship with others. ... We must be accountable to ourselves and accept responsibility for our wrongdoings to ourselves, we must keep our body safe from harmful situations and substances, we must be honest with ourselves and not choose to live in denial, we must support ourselves by making decisions and not judging ourselves for the opinion we hold, find win win solutions for your body, mind and spirit, and trust yourself that your body knows whats best. These are the keys to a healthy body, healthy relationships and awesome interspecies communication.

23.01.2022 One of the great Equine learning experiences here at The Academy of Life, Love and Horses, is our kids horse painting session. In this session children use mindful horse skills, and we teach positive listening and directive skills in a fun filled way. I have found in one session that children become better listeners, improve on giving verbal directives and learn to read non verbal body language cues all at the same time, not to mention good old fashioned messy fun.....

23.01.2022 Imagine if we all gave our gifts freely to the world, no matter what we are doing as a living we can always give the gift of what we came here to do in every moment....

22.01.2022 Navigating Life, Love and Wellness....... As we approach the end of another year, the conversation on the massage table has been similar with so many people. I find common themes amongst the public at certain times of the year as we begin to think about whats next, how we do things better, how we improve our self care and wellness, how we participate in our relationships in healthier ways. I adore working with these clients as they are always striving to find new and differ...ent ways to improve their lives, health and relationships. They are open minded and love hearing different perspectives and I love hearing theirs also. Life is holistic, we cannot just focus in one area and expect things to improve. We must balance our focus on physical, mental, emotional, relational, financial and spiritual wellbeing in everything we do. This gets me to thinking also how as a therapist I can best serve the needs of the beautiful people that come my way. I have a tool kit that I can share to create balanced health care. As I have been navigating the space of my work over the last few years I have experienced first hand that true healing only happens when we give equal attention to all areas of our being. In 2020 I will be offering this balanced approach in my coaching and mentoring programs with a combination of the therapies I have trained in over the past 20 years. I feel now more than ever the importance of balance as we navigate our way through the fast paced world and the chaos it creates. My tool kit contains massage therapy, energetic psychotherapy, holistic life coaching, intuitive mentoring, equine facilitated leadership and relationship reflection, somatic trauma work, embodied awareness and emotional intelligence guidance. My health and wellbeing programs are custom designed to suit you as an individual holistically. If 2020 is calling you to heal your wounds, create better self care, a new perspective or improved leadership skills, I would love to custom design you a program....and for those of you that have pre booked I look forward to working alongside you. Lisa

22.01.2022 What a perfect way to wrap up the year with our equine therapy kids. Thank you to Karin, Kirsten and Beth at Paintsville Arts Hub for encouraging individual creativity with such a large group of kids of differing ages. So proud of all the little ones and how far they have come in their leadership, confidence and self expression. Look forward to watching them all grow next year x

21.01.2022 A Big Welcome to the newest members of our herd, only babies but can already help children navigate obstacles to build confidence and self belief. Teaching children to think, feel and act congruently gives them great life skills to handle the things in life that challenge them. Here we are today waiting for our next child to arrive, enjoying some sunshine.. love my work

20.01.2022 It’s business as usual for us here under stage three restrictions. Please remember your mask and cancel if you have any I’ll symptoms. Stay safe stay smart x

20.01.2022 Taking Responsibility for our own Health.... I have been working in the health industry now for over 15 years and in that time I have seen so many new modalities and methods come to the public eye. Some of these work and some are just placebos. But what concerns me most is how quickly people give their own power away when it comes to their own health. We have become a society that has lost its ability to think critically when it comes to healthcare. We look for that random ...quick fix cure without taking all the elements of our being into account. I am not denying that we need our health professionals and that our amazing medical professionals save lives every day, but what I am saying is that sometimes we need to go within to our own internal guidance systems and be honest with ourselves about what needs to change within our own structures and environments. True health can only be maintained if we are willing to water all four parts of ourselves, Mental Health, Physical Health, Spiritual Health and Emotional Health. For most of todays society we only spend time in one part of ourselves, getting help from external sources to water this part further. Our other parts slowly die off more and more and health declines even though you believe you are doing everything you should be to regain health. A therapist said to me once, " Dont come here expecting me to help you if your not willing to help yourself. It is not my job to fix you, it is my job to support you to heal yourself." Water all four gardens and see what changes, it doesnt matter how ill. or how much pain you are in, or how you are mentally emotionally struggling. Communicate, Move, Eat at least one healthy meal, Meditate and feel what wants to be felt. I can guarantee something will change.

19.01.2022 How the environment affects our body... Part of the way I work is to help my clients explore the source of their body pain. I always look into the cause with curiosity as to whether it is physical, chemical, emotional or environmental. Studies now show that our genes and DNA can be directly affected by the environments that we spend our time and share our energy with. ... A perfect example of this is how we feel when we have spent time in the peaceful parts of nature, we feel recharged and rejuvenated by the sun, the moon, the trees and the plants, the sea, the mountains and the rivers. Nature returns our vibration to its natural state of being. Alternatively if we spend a lot of time in environments that we do not enjoy or feel comfortable in our vibration changes to states of anxiety and pain. If spent there long enough without resetting back to our natural vibrational state the energy of this environment starts to takes its toll. The first sign of this is pain within the body, the feelings of exhaustion and discontent. This is followed by chronic pain that doesnt go away and eventually manifests as illness either physical or mental. The space within our internal landscapes also at as environmental to our systems. If we live in a constant state of internal upset or unrest, or if we are not living a life that is our own path eventually this will also manifest as pain and illness. Part of the journey of healing is to look at all aspects of our life, to take stock of how we spend ourselves and what we spend it on. We need to asses our environmental landscapes internal and external and notice if they are vibrational match to the feelings we experience in nature. And while its not always possible to match that of nature the closer we can get inside and out the healthier we will be...

19.01.2022 Ready and waiting this morning for all our beautiful children to visit. A cold start to the morning but the sun is shining. What a fun day planned with kids and ponies, obstacle courses and painting, and of course a good healthy dose of vitamin H.

19.01.2022 Updates on ongoing health alerts... I am open for business and have just completed training in COVID-19 Infection control with the Australian Government Department of Health.. This ensures your safety as I keep infection control procedures up to my ongoing high standards. In order for me to keep my practice running I ask that if you have been overseas please cancel your appointments until you have passed the self quarantine time and if you are sick with and symptoms that are... flu like please cancel also. I believe that massage is an essential health service for most of my patients and intend to stay open to provide you with ongoing care. I am also watching the up to date information with caution to keep the vulnerable as safe as possible. Common sense always prevails, wash your hands, up your hygiene practices and dont go out if you are unwell and together we can help each other.

19.01.2022 So after a crazy start to 2020 I must say things have settled into a very relaxing state. My new business premises is definitely providing some much needed rest and relaxation away from the chaos that finished 2019. After taking some time personally to reflect on all the conversations held in the past month, one thing is for sure, helplessness, sadness and anger seem to be at the forefront of our community. Everyone has a different perspective on the events that occurred but... one common denominator exists and that is shock. I am noticing that everyones bodies are starting to release the excess adrenaline that has been held for such a long period of time. This is affecting posture and hormonal systems, leading to fatigue, body pain and for some foggy heads and depression. Now more than ever it is important to take care of ourselves, to rest, eat well, and check in with how we are doing emotionally and mentally. Post traumatic stress for some will be very evident, so dont be afraid to ask for help. Presently no doctors referral is required to see mental heath professionals in Bushfire affected areas, so book yourself in if you feel affected before the ongoing issues arise. See your body work professional and seek whatever else it is that restores your health and wellbeing. For most of us in bushfire affected areas we have not had holidays or beneficial outdoor time with family and friends and this will take its toll. Take time to slow down and reflect so your body, mind and spirit can realign. x

18.01.2022 Baby Knox is growing so quickly, already interacting with everyone that visits. He has a beautiful nature and has fitted in with daily life here perfectly, certainly has the makings of a therapy horse.

18.01.2022 Becoming the leader in your own life by partnering with horses.............. How do you lead yourself through lifes relationship challenges? Do you know your communication and leadership style? Are you aware of how it feels to be in relationship with you? Perhaps you show everyone you care by running after their every whim until you run ragged and everyone around you feels smothered ?... Or you stand back and observe whats happening, know what you need to do but take no action and then feel guilty for it? Do you feel like you cannot get your needs met and then find ways to enforce your needs on others? Are you afraid to have needs or to communicate in an open and honest way? Are you quick to anger and blow up bigger than you wanted to? The list goes on and on in the ways we communicate with one another. Sometimes we are completely unaware that our non verbal communication and our verbal communication do not match creating confusion for all those we come in contact with. When we partner with horses in a non verbal communication lesson our leadership style is revealed and our body language tells the story of what is happening in relationship to others. Horses work only with what is presented to them through the energy you bring into their space. As a prey animal their own safety as well as the herds is of utmost importance as is social rank so the horse reads what it is you bring into the herd and where you fit on the pecking order based on what leadership styles you have mastered. If this is something you feel called to explore I am taking next program enrolments for start in April. Programs are custom designed to suit your need and budget. Space are limited..

17.01.2022 With so much uncertainty and so many interruptive changes in life right now anxiety is high. It is being held deep in people’s bodies, minds and is spilling into most environments. The way we approach an anxious person in conversations decides if we create a connection that supports the person suffering, or place more pressure on them.

15.01.2022 There are three categories to which we can attribute pain. Physical, Chemical and Emotional. This is a great article about trapped emotion manifesting as pain.

14.01.2022 This certainly is the truth for 2020.... resilient bodies, minds, and spirits.......

14.01.2022 Returning to the Everyday after Disaster has Struck..... I closed my business today to regroup after such a tragic week in East Gippsland. My very own community has been hit very hard and the devastating ongoing effects of the wild fires has floored me. At first there was the threat of what was coming, then there was the shock of seeing it coming as we left, then there was returning to home after it had passed. Personally I have been running on adrenaline for a week as we ha...ve done everything possible to keep ourselves our family and our animals as safe as we could, and to get supplies to our neighbours who could not leave. I dont know how to fight fires, so for us leaving was the option but we didnt leave far enough to not experience the intensity from a distance. The people with skills stayed and fought a twelve hour battle that saved the end of my road but unfortunately for a lot of my neighbours, it was impossible to stop the beast of a fire. What I am finding today as we wind down for a spell in the precious rain that is falling is that my reality has changed. You never think it will happen but it did. Not to us, not to this community. I have seen the power of mother nature herself as it stared us all in the face. We have no control on this planet as we have seen. No management can stand a chance if she wants to say something. I see so many faces all-around drained from the pain of what has happened. Trying to return to their everyday chores. But it is hard, life has changed, what used to matter doesnt anymore. Survival is what is most important in these times. It is a day at a time as each day brings new challenges as we assess the actual impact of this fire and the ongoing issues the aftermath is presenting. I have regrouped today and am ready to support my community as best I can through these tragic times. Everyone knows someone that has been affected and it will take a long time for this community to recover. If you need to talk I am here, if you need a hug I am here. If I can offer any advice it would be to stick together, support one another, let each person communicate their story, offer help wherever you can but dont force it where it is not wanted either. Be safe, Be kind, and stay present. one day at a time is all we have to worry about right now. X

13.01.2022 Thats a Wrap..... Today marks the start of my new business journey, the transition from one premises to another is complete. What a year it has been, 2019 has bought so many beautiful new friends, colleagues and clients into my life. ... The Dwyer Chiropractic team has supported me in so many ways, so I could find the time to transition into my new ventures. I have made life long friends and supporters in my colleagues there. We had a lot of laughs, some great conversations and have learnt so much from each other. I will miss our day to day banter, cuppas and chats. 2020 starts the integration of my business model that I have been working towards for over 10 years. It is a unique compilation of all I have gathered on my own healing journey, and now I am ready to share it. So in 2020 you will be welcomed to my new premises by my trees, animals and my new healing space. There are spaces to relax, converse with my animals and sit in my gardens amongst some beautiful trees. I will have on offer many new services for you to explore as well as your ongoing care in massage therapy. So as we enter the holidays and the last part of 2019, I wish you a Merry Christmas filled with what makes your heart sing and the people you love, I express gratitude to all the friends, colleagues and clients that I have in my life, and lets bring on a healthy, happy new year, see you in 2020. xxx

08.01.2022 2020 is looking to be a great year with changes and expansions in my work. As of January 1st 2020 I will be relocating my practice to the quiet surrounds of a farmlet in Nicholson. Within this expansion, there will be new services on offer and the continuing of my massage practice as normal. This is stage one of my plans and the future is looking bright as the planning starts for a retreat/workshop space for people, animals, plants and alchemy. My business journey has been an... exciting one and I am continuing to refine my skills and spaces as I go. I have had a dream for quite some time to stretch into this kind of space and its feeling surreal as it happens. I look forward to greeting all my regular clients and meeting any new ones that come along into my new and growing spaces. Until then business as normal at the chiropractic centre as we work towards the end of the year. I have loved working at Dwyer Chiropractic and have made some amazing friends in my colleagues there. I will miss our day to day interactions, but its time for expansion into my dreams...for my regular clients who have their schedules booked in advance, these remain the same...just new location next year... 07.01.2022 COMPETITION TIME........ What Im hearing is the struggle of so many mothers trying to deal with the social isolation and home schooling at present. So much is happening all around us from financial struggle, to separation from family and friends, loss of our recreational activities and so it goes on..... So to help out I would like to offer one special mother and a child or teen, to come and experience an equine therapy session on the house. ... For mums it will be a session of time out away from the household pressures, to take a moment to relax and regroup while being supported by nature and my beautiful herd of horses. And for kids it will be a fun loving session of leadership and creativity and good old fashioned horse fun.... To enter simply like my page, tag three friends and share this post... Competition drawn 15 th May..... Good luck x

06.01.2022 This week we had a huge surprise!!! One of our beautiful rescue horses had been hiding her pregnancy and this precious little one was born on the spring equinox.. Lucy came to us back in March under tragic circumstances. She was of poor health and was emotionally scarred. She has since healed in many ways and right up to the week before she gave birth was working with children willingly and lovingly. I am shocked and in awe of this beautiful mare and how well she hid this quite large package. I had no idea that this rescue was a double one but this little man sure will be treasured x

06.01.2022 Here we go again, stage four restrictions just as I was starting to catch up. I will closed until Thursday in line with government guidelines. Clients that have appointments in this time will be contacted and I will do my very best to fit you all in ASAP...

05.01.2022 This is something I see a lot in my clients in regard to body and joint pain, I have found that the clients that try to reduce their wheat intake definitely have a reduction in body pain, reduced fatigue and improved mood.

04.01.2022 Massage Therapy Reopening May 1 st.. I will be reopening to my regular massage clients that are essential workers or that have injured themselves as of May 1st under the new governments trading laws. Strict hygiene practices will be in place as always and social distancing will be adhered to with the stretching out of appointment times. If you are a regular client I will be in touch to schedule you an appointment.

04.01.2022 Did you know that very client that comes here for a massage not only supports me as a local business but also supports horse rescue and children in need of some extra care? My gratitude to my loyal and long term clients is huge, without you I could not do what I do. Yesterday I was lucky enough to watch so many transformations in not only children but in the horses they work with. At the end of every busy day I reflect on how many people actually make this final magical mom...ent happen, how precious this is actually astounds me. Your time here in my business supports this journey, now thats paying it forward hey?

03.01.2022 The students of the Academy of Life, Love and Horses continue to amaze me as they show courage and bravery to try new things. The children and horses teach me new things in every session. As adults we forget about fun, wonder and the excitement and apprehension of new experiences. Children however approach life in a less inhibited way. The growth I see in my little students, as they continue to work with the herd of horses, donkies and the pig, is truly beautiful to watch. Ne...rvous and shy children find beautiful confidence and learn to lead in ways that don’t steal from others. The beauty of each animal to child relationship as they care for each other’s needs in true partnership brings tears to my eyes. There is so much to learn as an adult in an uncertain world just by witnessing the spaces these children can hold. What a gift it is to do my job x See more

02.01.2022 Well times are certainly changing faster than we can catch our breath, but with change comes new and inspired ideas. As most of my clients know massage is only a part of the services I offer and while I cannot offer this as a service to you right now there are other ways of keeping you well and inspired. As of next week I will be reopening my books to Life and Wellness Coaching and of course continuing with my Equine Leadership Academy.... There are a range of ways I can deliver this service to you including one on one in line with social distancing and infection control procedures, online via a new Telehealth service and of course outdoors in the paddock with my herd of horses. Right now it is important as ever to calm our systems and deal with the ever increasing anxiety of the world we live in to allow our immune systems to do their job. I will be setting up online bookings through my website in coming days but if you would like to book in for a session please give me a call on 0421606174 to arrange a session that best suits you. Sessions are for 30 minutes to two hours and vary in price and delivery to suit your requirements in this new space we find ourselves in.

01.01.2022 So here I am with all this time on my hands and with all the talk about viruses, what better time to start preparing some old world concoctions for the cold and flu season. Fire Cider is great to control bacteria in the sinuses, throat and helps build immunity. I managed to source all the products locally.

01.01.2022 And the winner of our mums and kids competition is Leah Matthews, congratulations you have won a relaxation with horses session for yourself and a leadership session for your child... x
