09.01.2022 Our gorgeous graduate and Coryphee of The Australian Ballet, Jasmin Durham, has been nominated for the Telstra Ballet Dancer of the Year. Jasmin helped choreograph Be Our Guest for our concert film last year, while she was in that very long Melbourne lockdown. Vote for Jasmin to win the People's Choice Award. Jas is a stunning dancer, but more importantly she is the most wonderful person. A great ambassador for LCDC, an amazing role model for our young dancers, and all round fabulous human. Vote as many times as you can!

09.01.2022 Our wonderful Contemporary teacher, Olivia Fyfe, is performing with Canberra’s award-winning dance company, Australian Dance Party as part of Enlighten Festival. Australian Dance Party present a new ‘sensory experience’ titled, Symbiosis. Join Australian Dance Party and collaborating artists for Symbiosis, an exclusive after-dark walking tour through the Australian National Botanic Gardens during the Enlighten Festival with illuminated live dance, music and spoken word. ... This intimate open-air experience explores the volatility of the natural world in the age of the Anthropocene. An embodied study of symbiotic relationships: parasitism, mutualism and commensalism, provokes a crucial reflection on human-ecological relationships. The work re-positions the human as a part of nature, and the response-ability we hold in shaping our ecological future. Performances: Fri 5 Mar 6pm, 8:15pm Sat 6 Mar 6pm, 8:15pm Sun 7 Mar 5:30pm*, 7:45pm Fri 12 Mar, 6pm, 8:15pm Sat 13 Mar, 6pm, 8:15pm Sun 14 Mar, 7:45pm Suitable for ages 10+ Tickets: https://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx

08.01.2022 We're absolutely loving our new program 'Once Upon A Ballet' for 3-5 year olds. Once Upon A Ballet is a unique, child-centred approach to teaching dance that is based strongly in child development research. We meet our littlest dancers in their worlda world filled with stories, magic and make-believe. Every 4-5 weeks our dancers work on a new story, keeping them highly engaged and excited for class. So far this year our dancers have journeyed through Wonderland with an Alic...e In Wonderland based class, and Neverland with a Peter Pan inspired class. Next term they'll be starting off with magic, turning mice into horses and pumpkins into carriages with Cinderella. We'd love to welcome new students to our Once Upon A Ballet classes in Term 2. Drop us a line and book in your free trial!

06.01.2022 Happy World Tutu Day

02.01.2022 Hi everyone, We're live! Tickets for the cinema sessions are now live and available for purchase through Limelight Cinemas. ... Some quick points to note: - LCDC is not handling the purchase and sale of tickets. These are all done through Limelight Cinemas - Buying tickets for the Concert is the same process as purchasing tickets to see a movie at the Cinema - Each individual attending sessions will need a ticket. This includes all babies and small children (no lap sitting etc) as each individual is counted in the Covid safe plan. - Carefully note which Concert you need to purchase tickets for: -- Junior Concert - ABA 1 through to Primary, including Jazz and Tap Foundations -- Senior Concert - Grade 1 Ballet and above and subsequent other styles of dance - There are no limits on tickets per family, but we do encourage consideration for others - If sessions sell out, we MAY be able to add additional sessions, but this cannot be guaranteed and will be handled as it occurs. Please keep in mind that we are a small business and that there are enormous costs involved with adding additional sessions that we may not be able to fill to capacity - As per the Concert Compliance Form that has been signed by a parent/guardian of students at LCDC to be eligible to participate in the concert, all persons are gently reminded of the following: --I understand that given the situation with Covid-19, that restrictions may at any time be changed by the ACT Government which may impact LCDC and the Concert. I understand that LCDC will do whatever possible to make alternative arrangements. --Any verbal abuse to LCDC staff, parents, students is unacceptable and will not be tolerated, and that any such behaviour will result in mu student/s immediate cancellation in the concert and enrollment at LCDC with no refunds or credits provided." Tickets can be purchased online via the following link: https://limelightcinemas.com.au/pr/lisa-clark-dance-centre/ Or by calling (02) 6293 6100 or popping into Limelight Cinemas Tuggeranong Many thanks, Charlotte & Lisa-

02.01.2022 The ball is well and truly rolling on concert preparation and before we know it, our dancers will be on stage. We’re so excited! Because of Covid, we’re filming to a closed auditorium, meaning all seats are going to be empty. One of our clever parents (thanks Sonja!) has come up with a fantastic idea to adapt to the closed auditorium, create a bit of extra fun and do a bit of fundraising while we’re at. So, help us fill the auditorium with faces! ... $5 per face - it can be yours, grandparents, cousins, pets, teddy bears etc. Send us a photo (or get us to grab one at the studios) and we’ll print and stick them to the chairs in the theatre. Your face will even be shown in the film!

01.01.2022 Congratulations to these four fabulous dancers who have all had hard choices to make over the past couple of weeks. Natalie, Charlotte, Teia, and Lexie all received multiple offers to wonderful full-time training schools around Australia. Natalie and Charlotte have decided to attend Queensland College of Dance and Teia and Lexie have chosen Classical Ballet 121 with Gilly Revie for 2021. We will miss you all so much, but are very proud of all you have accomplished in this difficult year!

01.01.2022 Dress up days at rehearsals this weekend! But make sure your hair is still in a bun!!!
