25.01.2022 Hey, its been a while. I feel like Im coming out of hibernation even as we step into winter in Australia I wanted to say that Im here. Life went in a different direction to what I thought - again - so this is me sitting in my office, back in the corporate world and surprisingly, loving it Ayurveda stays in my heart of course and I am offering appointments again on the weekend. I havent had enough energy for both until now ... my website is down but you can reach me in other ways. Dont be shy
25.01.2022 In these uncertain times, when medical systems all over the world are being overwhelmed, when people everywhere are being asked to stay home to help stop the spread of a virus that has literally brought the world to a halt, we are also paradoxically experiencing something quite wonderful. We are literally witnessing the ancient teachings of oneness in action - the idea of a collective consciousness that means the actions of one person can affect the whole. This pandemic rem...Continue reading
24.01.2022 Spent the weekend with @drramaprasadayurveda diving deeper into his system of prescribing Ayurveda based on almost 30 years in clinical practice Thinking about treating disease using a tissue - fluid - gut framework kill the toxins or pathogens where youre experiencing the trouble ... could be on the skin, heart, liver, anywhere ... dissolving them there and then transporting them into the gut to be flushed out Makes so much sense! No point in breaking down toxins if ...you leave them floating around the body. Theyll just settle somewhere else And my guess, if youre been struggling with something for a while and tried everything with limited success, this could be why Ayurveda requires commitment and a willingness to look at what you eat, how you eat, even how you live. But disease isnt fun and those niggly complaints you put up with today - a bit of gas, a bit of bloating sometimes, the odd ache or pain, a bit of redness or stiffness, etc are all the ways your body communicates with you that its not loving something youre doing Check out my Insta story and if it feels good, get in touch hello@lisa clegg.com
24.01.2022 When your dog thinks it's a human I hope you are enjoying the wild Perth weather this is the perfect time for a warm oil massage because we all need a little extra love and internal grounding to counter balance the storms outside. ... 23.01.2022 Great skin is primarily an inside job. We all know this by now. And likely experienced it for ourselves - looking grey the morning after a big night out, or covered in breakouts during stressful periods of our lives What and how we eat, drink and live matters. Our skin is a fantastic reflection of our gut and overall health. So step 1 is to take care of this always (ps by always I mean, lifelong ) Then we have choices about the products we use to take care of our skin ...on the outside because that matters too. Everyone I know uses some sort of product on their skin, (might be as simple as coconut oil) because when we have skin dramas ... sensitivity, acne, sun damage, premature ageing etc .. it affects our confidence and in some case, impacts our whole life. And because of ^^^ we might look towards heavy duty medications, birth control, even surgery, believing thats the best way to get it sorted fast. At this point, we are likely to be far less concerned about long term concerns - we just want it fixed. Unfortunately this can set us up for years of trouble. Medication and surgery are not the only options There are skincare products you can use that will address your concerns in the same time frame as the meds (I use Rodan & Fields). Therapies and detoxes you can do that will quickly benefit your skin - think liver, gall bladder, colon, whole body cellular cleanses, even ones that specifically target the skin! Food choices that will make an immediate impact. Essential oils that have wonderful therapeutic value... so many options. Bottom line is that if you want great skin for your whole life its essential to consider both aspects. What are the lifestyle and dietary choices you are making that affect your internal health? And what are you using externally that works, is affordable, aligns with your philosophy about what you use on your skin, cruelty free? Look better. Feel better. Do better. Be better. If want to know more about how I care for my skin, give me a call or drop me a line [email protected]
23.01.2022 Hey, it’s been a while. I feel like I’m coming out of hibernation even as we step into winter in Australia I wanted to say that I’m here. 23.01.2022 My friend Kristi Olander shared this chart in a group Im in. Ive been struggling for the last two weeks with a trapped nerve and radiating pain from my hip all down my left leg. Now on the surface, my pup Reggie is the culprit, enthusiastically dragging me from the house to the park but its not the whole story What manifests physically is always linked to whats going on internally. Theres unfortunately/ fortunately no hiding from ourself no matter how hard we might try... I have some big decisions to make. The future isnt as clear as it was. I fluctuate in terms of what I want. Money is a factor. Faith is another. I feel the responsibility for my decisions on my family ... So yes, there WAS a physical trigger, but its no coincidence my body has seized up and is literally forcing me to be (painfully) aware of every single step I take. And read what is says about sciatica. Much as I might want to pretend this isnt true, I know that it is I cant say Im loving the pain but I am in awe of the bodys incredible, undeniable knowing. And reminded again that my work is to sit with these truths and find myself in all of that So my plan has to be both to support my physical health and at the same time, go internal - in this case, its a combo of managing my Vata disturbance, osteo, rest, oil enemas, restorative yoga, aligned action, reaching out .... If youre struggling with something physical, use this chart (and there are many others) to see if it gives you clues as to the inner work thats required to truly deal with the symptoms. Tag someone who needs to see this and let me know if you/ they need a hand We got this Credit: Kristi Olander
22.01.2022 Is your teen feeling the pressure right now? On the run towards final exams? Friendship issues? Big decisions to make? Whatever it may be these kinds of things can often lead to stress, insomnia and skin breakouts As parents, we may also struggle to know how to help. Struggle no more my friends, there are some lovely - and quick tools I can share with you and your teens that are lifesavers. (And Im not underestimating how absolutely paralysing and distressing chronic anxie...ty can be for all concerned). Firstly shirodhara. Oh my goodness, the most relaxing, rejuvenating treatment that I swear even teenagers will love. So calming for the nervous system that no matter how their anxiety is manifesting, this will help settle it down. And we all know that to do perform well and make good decisions our teens need a clear head and their brain working optimally. Shirodhara takes us there. Secondly, a heads up. We will be running teen workshops in August. Short (because we know they are time poor) and focused on sharing key tools to improve their focus, feel calmer and that they can use at home when things feel too much. Well run as many of these as there is demand as they are game changers. Please message me for more info and spread this message. We can totally give our kids the gift of ease and support and sleep ... and still get them the results they want!

21.01.2022 We don't often talk about the men. It's as if they have singled handedly managed to get their shit together while we women grab all the resources in the world to help us - self help books, endless inspiration and coaching through social media, friends that 'expect' you to offload and are totally ready to jump in and help. All the things But guys, not so much. Infertility is an emotional issue no matter your gender and obviously affects both men and women. Let's stick with ...the guys for a second. Erectile Dysfunction, poor sperm motility, low sperm count, low libido, stress - all real issues that are not easily discussed yet according to this study, low sperm count is a serious issue. In my practice I'm starting to see more guys coming forward for support with their health and there's a lot we can do with changes to diet and lifestyle for the full range of issues that are popping up - including low sperm count. And then there's the plant medicine Herbs like Shatavari, Gokshura, Ashwaganda or Shilajith or preparations like 'oh boy' all with their own personality and unique qualities that might be part of the answer ... depending on what's causing the problem. Bottom line is come chat. Infertility is one of those concerns that only gets worse the more you worry about it http://www.bbc.com/news/health-40719743

18.01.2022 Known as #kumari in Ayurveda, Aloe Vera is already very well known for its cooling and healing properties when applied externally to the skin. Anyone who ever stayed too long in the sun, has probably slathered on Aloe gel at some point!! It produces fibroblasts, the skin cells responsible for healing (as well as producing collagen so also great for plumping up the skin and smoothing out any wrinkles. ) . But did you know its also fantastic for our #digestion and also for ...balancing #hormones? Its the number one thing I recommend to clients if they have any sort of hormonal imbalance think spotty, excess facial hair, painful periods, grumpy moods etc. . As long as youre not pregnant or under 5 , try this to balance your hormones - and its healing properties will also support your digestion & slippery elimination . snip a one inch piece off the end of an Aloe leaf. In between the green parts youll see the clear gel. Take the gel, add a sprinkle of black pepper and eat every morning on an empty stomach. . Aloe helps clear the toxins out of the digestive system, soothes any inflammation in the stomach, small intestine and colon and improves the functioning of the kidneys, liver and gall bladder. Its anti-inflammatory so alkalises the digestive juices and helps prevent acidity a common cause of indigestion. . Its such a simple solution #plantpower #foodasmedicine #guthealth #hormones #aloevera #ayurveda #herbnerd #speaktolisa #wellness #mosmanpark Ps. There are over 200 species of Aloe. Only a few are medicinal. The best is aloe barbadensis
18.01.2022 One of my teachers yesterday was chatting to us about practising yoga simply for the joy of it. Not to get stronger or fitter or more relaxed (even though of course we will), but simply to have the experience of loosing yourself in the bliss thats your body in that moment (and how amazing does that sound?) Well I reckon Reggie has this down Reggie the master yogi We go on the same walk most days and every time hes as excited as if its his first time. Hes totally into... every tree, patch of grass, other dog, the people, the water ... Doesnt give a hoot what the other dogs are doing. Whos playing with who. Who is having a better time than him. Hes having way too much fun to be concerned with all that lifegoals from a puppy Maybe you might like to try reframing the things that you plan to do today and instead of doing them for this or that reason, find a way to do them simply for the joy of it? 17.01.2022 What you think you want v what's possible when you stop pushing / trying / wanting quite so hard It's not so easy to stop trying to control everything. I know this only too well Nor is this about giving up or loosing focus. Rather I see this as a reminder to trust, to accept, to stay soft when things don't quite go as you hoped (or even when your hopes get pulverised right in front of your face ). Practice remaining open to what is because quite frankly, that's all we'...ve got to work with And I love the idea that what's coming for us when we do this is wayyyyy better than anything we can think up for ourselves Thank you @brianandreas and happy Sunday friends x
17.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! Last time I was in New York on my UHP training the team asked me what UHP meant to me. This is what I said. 12.01.2022 Moment to moment, decision by decision, step by step Working with what is rather than wishing for what is not And how to do that? Follow your breath. I often hear people say to watch your thoughts because they influence how you will feel. In my experience, its easier than that. All you need to worry about is your breath. Watch that for a few minutes and your thoughts will settle, youll have clarity on what to do and that will change how you feel. Try it and let me know ho...w you go Breathe. Stay present with what is as if you had chosen it. You got everything covered Wisdom from the master @eckharttolle shared by the lovely by @kristikremers

08.01.2022 T R U T H The only real decision we need to make ... whether to be guided by faith or by fear And I know other people might sometimes see the choices we make from the place of faith as irresponsible, reckless, crazy even (aka my dad) but dont let that stop you.... When I choose faith, my life becomes nothing short of miraculous. A place of presence and peace and (nervous) excitement. But when fear is leading, its not so much fun. And if youre not sure which one youre choosing, consider how you feel the second you make a choice - open, expansive, hopeful or small, constrained and boxed in? as the yogis say, give life your best efforts always but you gotta surrender the results. 06.01.2022 Cumin, coriander and fennel tea A digestive lifesaver! One of my lovely clients messaged me yesterday raving about how helpful this tea has been and wondering how it worked... Individually the herbs are fantastic. And collectively they sort out almost any digestive complaint Cumin - to stoke up our digestive fire, fix any sluggishness, improve the absorption of nutrients and generally make sure the air in our body moves in the right direction Fennel is brilliant for gas, indigestion, any acid or cramping. Its very clever because it improves digestion without causing excess heat in the body Coriander - fabulous for reducing gas or any kind of cramping/ pain Put them together and we have a warming digestive that calms and settles the entire system as well as gently detoxing it To make, take a teaspoon each of coriander, fennel and cumin seeds. Simmer for 5 mins in about 5 cups of water. Cool, strain and drink all day. Especially nice as an after dinner drink So if theres anyone in your life thats a bit gasey , do them a favour and tag them! @starkphotographics

02.01.2022 5 years ago my life turned upside down. I lost my marriage and my home and had to make some decisions ... which felt terrifying at the time ... about what was best for my family. The path we took was risky. We decided to stay in Australia and stay close together even though I couldnt see how wed do that and it meant I had to lose my job too. But there was such an amazing upside. Loosing pretty much everything I thought was important, offered me the opportunity to totally r...ethink what I wanted to do with my life. And to actually realise what truly mattered. So fast forward to today. Today we became Australian citizens. Our daughter is on the edge of finishing school and starting Uni here. Our son has great friends and quite honestly the best time. Both kids have a fantastic relationship with their Dad. I started my own business, and if all goes to plan, over the next few months that is going to evolve into something that Im bursting to share with you. The lesson for me is one of faith. I had lots of moments of worry, when I totally wanted to kick myself for not taking the safe path. But the truth is when you choose the things that feel right, even when on the face of it thats the bonkers option, youll be ok. Better than ok. Honestly we all have to do this. To inch closer and closer with every decision we make - big or small, to the things that fill us with joy. Id love to say, to do absolutely nothing that doesnt make our hearts sing (but I think youll think I had one too many at the citizen ceremony ) Thats what we owe ourselves. And the shitty times may be what it takes to jolt us onto that path. So if you are in the middle of something huge, Im sending you waves of love And now Im off to celebrate with a cup of tea and a cherry ripe... Ps Hugo hasnt turned into a plant (thank you Paul)! Thats a native flower called Kangaroo Paw we were given at the ceremony
