16.01.2022 STOP what you are doing right now... Ask yourself... ‘Where are my shoulders?' Are they being held up towards your ears, pulled back, are they collapsing forward or are they relaxed and at ease? Perhaps consider the state of your upper arms and neck as well.... What is the quality of your breath? Try voicing through your current posture We often hold quite a lot of excess tension in our shoulders, which can impact on our presence, power as well as the quality of our voice and its freedom. If you find your shoulders are tense or held in some way, If you find your shoulders are tense or held in some way, try scrunching your shoulders up towards your ears (eg. deliberately invite that tension) and then allow the shoulders to drop heavily down (letting all of that tension go). Try a few times. Avoid ‘placing’ the shoulders down and let them drop freely to where they want to go, not where you think they should go! See if you can notice.... 1) if this helps any other areas to release 2) any changes to the breath or voice 3) any other sensations or feelings that arise Repeat as many times as you like until you feel satisfied. Hope this helps you to free some tension and connect to your power... feel free to comment/ pop any questions below!
