21.01.2022 Today the Victorian Electoral Commission declared the election results for Towong Shire Council. The five successful candidates are: David Wortmann Andrew ...Whitehead Peter Dikschei Aaron Scales Denise Anderson Newcomers Denise Anderson and Peter Dikschei will serve their first term on Council alongside David Wortmann who has been elected for a fourth term, Aaron Scales, who has been elected for a third term, and Andrew Whitehead who will serve his second term. The Councillors are expected to be sworn in next week.

We are currently working with the State Governme...nts relevant department seeking sign off of our event to proceed. This has involved hundreds of pages of COVIDSAFE Planning having to be submitted, at the moment it is looking more positive than earlier in the week that we will receive the required approval. Please understand, we are in the hands of the State Government and believe we have submitted a compliant event management & COVIDSAFE plan, please bare with us we expect to have a further update at the end of the week. We appreciate some people have not completed their purchasing and are worried about missing out on ticketsif this is you and you have either Camping Only or Wristbands Only or want to add more tickets onto your existing purchase, we will do all we can to assist however please be patient. I really en...courage anyone 12 - 25 to come to this meeting, it's information on how you can be involved in the different things happening in town at the moment as well as have a place to voice your own opinion on how the town will look over the coming years. Please spread the word, invite people to the meeting and get involved, you won't be locked into any work or have to commit to anything, come along and see what all this recovery talk is about, it's your chance to have some control over your town's future, and there will be free food!
