24.01.2022 Meet my wonderful late Granny; Margaret Stewart Ross Pooley, she was such a mentor and teacher in life, a great nurturer, and a fabulous gardener! She taught me so many life skills but best of all her strong faith in God and love of all people inspired and stuck with me forever. I am forever grateful for this amazing woman who I constantly miss. I love you Gran. #mentoringmatters #peoplelover #mentorgardener #myinspirationfortoday

24.01.2022 Had to get the big guns out to tackle pruning the Olive hedge. My Hubby and Pup Molly are constants in the garden also, we make a good team. #gardendesignmelbourne #gardendesigner #hedgetrimming #gardencare #ediblegarden

24.01.2022 Our beautiful Molly starts her LONG journey home to us tomorrow from Texas. She has a 3 day drive Houston- LA then flies to Auckland, NZ with a two night stop over before flying to Melbourne for her 10 day quarantine stay... then we will get our precious pup back. This is the only way to get her home after trying for 4 months.... I am nervous for her and cannot wait to cuddle her and be together for her forever. I will be hanging for our updates. Travel safe beautiful girl. #belovedpup #beloveddog #weloveyou
23.01.2022 Check out the SOLAR panels on the roof of our house.... it costs us just $0.50 cents per day to power the entire house, it’s appliances and the Air Conditioner. When the sun is shining we generate enough power for 10 houses. Love Sustainable Solar Energy. Go Green! #solarpanels #solarsystems #solarsystemfacts #sustainableenergysolutions #gogreen
23.01.2022 Citrus Tree Care: Spring is the best time me to prune your citrus to create that strong upside down umbrella framework. Feed them with a good all round citrus food, dynamic lifter, blood and bone and rock minerals. Spray with an organic pest spray and scrape one side of any gore wasp larvae welts. Finally mulch with sugarcane mulch and water it well once a week.
22.01.2022 Herbs for a sunny window are ready to wash and cook with. 1. Herbs @bunnings 2. Pots @ikea_australia 3. Line Pots with Aluminium foil to catch the water. 4. Feed with @seasol_international once every 3 weeks... 5. Water 2-3 daily with just 1/4 Cup water 6. Snip, wash and cook #healthyeatinghabits #healthyeatingtips #organicgardening #organicfood #herbgardens #ediblegardens #ediblegardendesign #ediblegardendesigner
16.01.2022 Monét’s Garden. What a beautiful sight even after an evening of heavy rains, the roses were somewhat still in tact. I hope you enjoy this virtual escape from 2012. #escape #gardentravels #travelartist #rosegardens #landscapedesign
14.01.2022 There is nothing more invigorating or inspiring than a walk in nature. Melbourne beaches are so beautiful. Happy to be back settling in Melbourne. #baysideliving #melbourne #gardendesigner #landscaping
12.01.2022 Weeks of research, notes, client, briefs, review meetings and notes go on behind the scenes of a landscape design... a thoroughly enjoyable project. Every design is as unique as each of my clients.
12.01.2022 Beaumauris Beauty finished. With room for a pool later but stunning grounds to enjoy now. Thanks again to my landscaper Guy Batters from Gardens alive for bringing this Landscape Design to life.
12.01.2022 No furniture shipment here at the house (still) yet = No lawn mower. A friend found this push mower (on hard rubbish) which I gave a quick service and a tweak and it works like a dream! (Lockdown landscaper service is not allowed). I do like to keep my lawn trimmed and tidy! We gave it a seasol spray a week ago and it looks so lush! #lawnprideaustralia #gardenmaintenance #landscaping
11.01.2022 Here are some roses to brighten up your day! Some of them I grew in memory of special garden influencers like my Gar and Granny, and Angelo our Sicilian neighbour who used to walk up and chat gardens when he was still with us. All of them treasures! Don’t you wish you could smell them?
11.01.2022 This is a bayside Melbourne property I designed with my clients back in 2011 during construction of the home. The design is sensitive to the style of the home with clean simple lines, material choices and a simple plant pallet. Privacy was their main concern so we chose hedging plants which would in time grow with height along the back fence and give them the privacy they need. The property has recently sold. Photo courtesy of Greg Hocking. See all the photos of this stunning property here: https://www.realestate.com.au//property-house-vic-parkdale
11.01.2022 My new friend, a Murray Magpie which I have been feeding raw beef mince. She has been carrying it off to her babies and coming back checking her supply. She will come back daily if we keep feeding her. What a cutie!!
09.01.2022 Hello Spring... Hello Pollinators! we are thinking about getting a beehive to nurture our vital little things co workers...
08.01.2022 I wish you could smell this garden with its chinese star jasmine in full flower for these balmy summer evenings. Layering for colour, summer fragrance, texture and interest in this long skinny courtyard. This is our old home and the garden is now in its maturity and looking beautiful. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIC8hV9FUNK/?igshid=1nklrah1q179

05.01.2022 Now is a good time to check your irrigation! Here are my tips on what to look for. Repair any necessary broken lines and pop ups, know your program settings. Don’t be a Wally with water.

02.01.2022 Details in my landscape designs, it’s like designing an interior but with green living plant layers and exterior surfaces and functional components. It takes time and layers to build up to the last stage which is colouring! I do love the process though... especially my time spent with clients.
02.01.2022 When the Coastal Tea Tree is flowering...snapper are running in Port Phillip Bay. I can’t wait to be able to go fishing, especially since Boating has been in Lockdown too in Melbourne. #fishing #fishingportphillipbay #gardendesignmelbourne
