22.01.2022 This is so cool! Well done AMEB!!!! FREE online AMEB Theory of Music courses Our online courses for Grades 1 to 3 Theory of Music are now free until June 30 from exams.ameb.edu.au. These courses are delivered as a series of videos and PDFs and also give students access to practice questions on the same online platform that delivers our online theory exams. To get access to a free course, simply register as an account holder, add the course to your cart, and proceed through the check-out. No payment information will be requested and access will be granted immediately.

19.01.2022 Melbourne City Council has just approved $2m worth of Quick Response Arts Grants. $4,000 each = 500 grants. For individual artists (with an ABN) or small arts organisations. In two types: 'development', for the development of new work, and 'online presentation' grants, to put developed work online. Criteria and outcome requirements are pared right back, e.g. development grant application does not require a presentation outcome to be nominated, but of course this is for artist...s who live, practice, work or regularly present in the City of Melbourne. Grants will open tomorrow morning, media release to come overnight. City of Melbourne website will have details in the morning. They’ve also granted rent relief to all arts organisations that are tenants of Council-controlled properties, and arts organisations in the City of Melbourne will have access to a separate funding pool for various categories of Quick Response Business Grants. This is an imperfect and local contribution to a massive problem, but hopefully will make a meaningful contribution to a few, and keep artists creating with some income. 18.01.2022 4 weeks ago I walked into the doors of the Music Building at the VCA as a Voice Teacher and realised it was exactly 25 years ago that I walked into those same doors as a Voice Student. It was and still is surreal but awesome. Today, though is the beginning of a new frontier, as we all are going online! 17.01.2022 Singing Sundays Challenge! The week we went into ‘lockdown’, I set my students a Free Isolation Challenge. Each Sunday I would set them a show to audition for and they had a week to prep a self tape preferably singing a brand new song each week! Fast forward 4 weeks and over 35 videos later, those who were keen brightened my weeks with brave, varied and fun submissions! For those interested: We went from Hairspray to Carousel to Rent to 42nd Street! So many highlights however Congratulations goes to highest scores @oliviachara and @nick_cox27 - who won a free lesson!!!! Singing Sundays Block 2 Starts today!!!!!!! Can’t wait! Iso 1.0 Audition self tape submissions - a different musical each week and then Iso 2.0 Live singing masterclasses and chats exploring style, accents and audition briefs every week! 23 Sundays in total!!! Such fun and such a generous group of people to work with! I adore you all!!! 11.01.2022 Drama Ages 5-7: This Drama program focuses on what 5-7 year old children love to do most: PLAY! While each course will have its own term focus, the classes are able to be moulded to each individual groups interests and strengths. Class sizes are small to encourage children to feel confident to play, explore and share their thoughts and ideas in a safe and familiar environment. Class Times: Sundays 9-9:45am ... Ages 8-12: Drama for 8-12 year olds is an extension of skills explored in Drama for 5-7 years where working within a group dynamic is a strong focus while now exploring each individual student’s unique personality and creativity.
