25.01.2022 I have a question for you as it is Valentines Day and a lot of people are celebrating love and relationships! What is the state of the relationships in your life? Do you have deep connections with the people you love? Can you talk about anything or do you hold back? A lot of people tell me that they do not feel they can express themselves fully in their relationships, they hold back and often suppress their emotions until they all com...e out at ones (normally not in a very considered way). If this is you then you do not want to miss the bonus training I have decided to facilitate tomorrow at 1 pm AWST! I am going live in the private Facebook group Confident with Conflict tomorrow at 1 pm to talk all how to become self expressed in your relationships and have the ability to negotiate with the people that you love in your life effectively. 24.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers and father figures out there! I hope you had a great day. Dads are so important in childrens lives! My dad made the biggest difference to me growing up. I love this picture of me and my dad. It was taken on my wedding day before I was going to walk down the aisle. My dad has been probably been my biggest supporter and cheerleader my whole life. When I would doubt myself he would back me and he wou...ld make sure I would back myself. He is probably the reason that I grew up to be a confident woman that believes in herself. He is just an amazing, genuine human being with the biggest heart. He loves everyone and he cries at the drop of a hat. My mum and dad live in the Netherlands and I miss them terribly. Luckily we have Whatapp and Skype but I cannot wait until I can hug them in real life again. I might not let go for a while....Happy Fathers day dad I love you! . . #kids #children #familytime #mom #sister #dads #happiness #mother #brother #familia #instababy #dad #sisters #birthday #daughter #blessed #momlife #kid #mum #dad #fathersday #love #family #relationships #support #weddingday #photooftheday #unconditional #coronavirus #netherlands See more

24.01.2022 , Kate Maree O'Brien. , ' ' . . . ' . Kate is amazing at boundary setting and does it in a really beautiful way. And that is why I asked her to come on this episode and talk about what boundaries are. How do you set... boundaries? And how do you deal with the fact that if people are upset, are you setting these boundaries? What I loved about Kate sharing is that she talks about how setting boundaries is actually a gift to your relationships. And that's not how most people relate to it. Listen to this episode, and I promise, you'll get a lot of value out of it. : ://..//-------- # # # # # # #

23.01.2022 Before you start a conversation or argument with your partner, boss, child or anyone else. STOP and think about it for a moment. Is this worth having an argument about? Sometimes it is necessary to speak up but sometimes you can also choose to let it go. PICK YOUR BATTLES! The trick is that you do really have to let it go if you are not going to bring it up and not walk around being resentful. If you cannot do that you will need to have that conversation.... #communication #family #clear #clearcommunication #love #leadership #entrepreneur #success #community #happy #entrepreneurship #motivation #fun #inspiration #businessowner #network #opportunities #digital #work #perth #perthlife #perthisok #westernaustralia #perthcity #perthblogger #perthgram #thisiswa #soperth #perthwa #fremantle See more

23.01.2022 I was speaking to my dad this week and he said he was so touched by what I posted by him on Fathers day. For those who did not see it, I acknowledged him for the amazing dad he is and the difference he makes to my life. His words were: that would be something normally people would only say at your funeral. That made me think...he is right, a lot of people wont share with the people around them how much they love them and what difference they make to t...heir life. They will share how they feel when this person is no longer around to hear it. Some people are in conflict with people they love over silly things. Some people will not resolve their issues before it is too late and they have regrets, and some people are able to resolve conflict very quickly when someone gets sick for example when everyone gets connected to what is really important but they have wasted years! The key is to get connected to what is really important to you and who is really important to you. Please dont wait and regret not sharing how much you love people and resolve conflict with people you love. You do not have forever and you never know when it might be too late. #kids #children #familytime #mom #sister #love#happiness #mother #brother #familia instababy #dad #sisters #birthday #time #blessed #momlife #kid #mum #dad #fathersday #love #family #relationships #connection #waisttime #share #bekind #relationship #happy #important See more

22.01.2022 Family is the most important thing for me in my life. My life revolves around my family, extended family and friends. I invest most of my time into my relationships and I love having my people around me. Did you know that studies have proven that people live longer and are happier when they have strong connections and great relationships in their life? Make sure you make time to be with the people you love. Time flies and I don't want anybody to say on my funeral. "We never... saw her she was so busy". 22.01.2022 It is father's day tomorrow so I wanted you to meet my husband Arifin. We have been together for 14 years now and he is one of the reasons that I am able to do what I do and do it well. He has a career, he designs buildings and he is currently building our family home, so it is safe to say that he is busy guy. But he always supports me and we make sure together that both of us get to do what we need to do for our work and that we both get to spend time alone, with each other... and with the kids. It is a constant juggle so we negotiate with each other all the time. It is so important to get good at negotiation in your relationship! He is an amazing dad, he coaches both the kids soccer teams plus another team that the boys are not in which means training 3 times a week and three games on the weekend, one on Saturday and two on Sunday. He loves being there for our kids and he loves making a difference to other kids, as sport is not just about kicking a ball around. Don't think we are perfect, we do each other's heads in at times and we disagree and are in conflict with each other often. We manage it well though and know how to communicate effectively. I always talk about how conflict is great to have in your relationships if you manage it well and I truly believe that. If you listen to my podcast or do coaching and training with me you will get more insight in how we do this as I share about it ! We are not perfect by any means but I am so glad to get to do life with him and I am so grateful to have him by my side. 21.01.2022 I took this photo today on my walk, the wetlands are so beautiful right now. Weekends for me are all about being with my family, the kids sports (aka standing in the rain ), my own workouts, walking, seeing family and friends, eating nice food and having a glass of wine. I have been so tempted to work today but I decided not to do it. As a small business owner there is always something that needs to be done, but I have learned over the years that it is so important for m...e to take time out , switch off and reset each week. It makes me more productive, creative and happy. 19.01.2022 Let me clarify this quote. Normally we say ''Treat others the way you want to be treated" right? So what does this quote mean? Everyone has a different negotiation style. If you think that the way that you negotiate and communicate is the 'norm' you will get into trouble in your communication with others. ... People often talk to me about 'normal' and 'common sense' but what they mean is 'my normal' and ' my common sense'. If you want to be a successful negotiator and communicator you need to be able to get into the other person's world and understand how they see the world and what makes sense to them. You have to open yourself up to their difference. 19.01.2022 Who gets the dog? People are very attached to their pets and it can be a very contentious issue after separation. Where the pet goes is a subject that comes up in mediation often and it can be a very tricky issue to deal with. It is interesting to look at how the law deals with pets. There is no specific provision dealing with animals under the Family Law Act. They are included in the category of property! Normally in property settleme...nt a value is put on the assets that everyone has and the mediation is about the division of these assets. It is hard to put a value on a pet though, besides emotional value, unless it is an animal that earns money like cattle or a race horse. The court is reluctant to determine pet ownership. This is why people are encouraged to come to an agreement about where the pet lives after separation in mediation. It is just the best way to do it as your pet has a lots of value to everyone in the family and it is important for everyone (especially the children) to know what will happen with their pet, . . . #separation #love #divorce #familylaw #marriage #breakup #sad #children #anxiety #life #lawyer #acceptance #family #happiness #money #pets #relationshipgoals #work #perthisok #business #couple #heartbroken #perthfamilylaw #family #attorneys #divorce #children #mediation #conversation See more

18.01.2022 This is my 'happy face' because I LOVE training people in conflict resolution and mediation. It is honestly the best! I am training professionals from all over Australia this week in family mediation and it just lights me up to know that more people will go out and make a difference in the world after doing this course. I got such a mixed group at the moment psychiatrists, lawyers, people who work mainly with children in their profession and more. It is j...ust so incredible to work with people that already have such amazing skills and add mediation and conflict resolution skills to their skill set. Nothing beats being face to face training but I have to say that it is so great to be able to train people across Australia via Zoom. I used to do a lot more Western Australia based face to face training and through the pandemic it has changed so much. I get to work with people from everywhere and meet all sorts of inspiring people. I love it! 17.01.2022 Most of you know that I love exercise. But that does not mean I always feel like it! I can be such hard work.. AND I never regret that I went when I am done and I love the results I get from doing it. This is not really a post about exercise though. I use exercise as an analogy for my business or anything else in life that I want to get results in. It takes something, results do not show up by wishing for results without taking action. ... What it takes is consistent action over a long period of time regardless if you 'feel like' taking action. You just have to show up. Of course there are many more factors but this one if is a very powerful one. Just show up over and over again and don't give up if you do not see immediate results! 13.01.2022 10 steps on how to have a difficult conversation with someone in a climate where people are under a lot of stress? 1. Check in with yourself first. Are you calm and clear? 2. Prepare the conversation, don't just dive in. What is it ... that you want to achieve in this conversation? 3. Check in with the other person. How is that person going and what are they dealing with in their life right now? 4. Do not make any assumptions, ask questions instead. 5. Give the other person some context before you dive into the difficult part of the conversation. 6. Be straight but empathetic. Beating around the bush is never helpful but you want to do it in an empathetic way. 7. Give the person time to respond and be ok with whatever that response is. Sit with it and listen. (unless it is abusive ofcourse). Give them space to say everything they need to say. You can ask is there anything else? 8. Respond appropriately to what they have told you. Show empathy and understanding and be clear about what you can and cannot do for them. 9. 13.01.2022 SILENCE. Did you know that silence a very powerful conflict resolution tool? Most people are uncomfortable with silence. Try it out sometimes and see what happens. Silence is powerful and silence is useful. When you are silent and you are not filling up the space a lot can happen. For example:... * there is space for the more quite person to speak up. * you can listen * everyone can take a moment to process and think before continuing the conversation. Plus you can use silence as an intervention tool if you are a mediator or facilitator. I do it all the time. Sometimes people look at me to resolve their problems and as a mediator I just cannot do that. The clients need to resolve the conflict that is not my job, I am just there to facilitate the conversation. If I stay silent someone will start talking at some point about what is on their mind and the conversation for resolution continues between the clients. As a mediator it is important to become comfortable with silence and not fill up the space for the sake of it as it can get in the way of the clients coming to their own resolution. How do you feel about silence? . . . #mediation #intervention #mindfulness #healing #happy #motivation #inspiration #selfcare #wellness #peace#life #mediator #instagood #instadaily #loveyourself #silence #coaching #consciousness #energy #negotiation #business #negotiator #expertadvice #entrepreneur #leadership #conflict #negotiate #perth #familylaw #perthisok See more

13.01.2022 I use this analogy with my clients all the time. If you are not sure if you should send a text message or email to your ex-partner think about if you would send it to your boss or not. If the answer is no, feel free to type it to get it out of your system, just don't press send. You will have to deal with the impact of that email or text message possibly for a long time to come so it is much more useful to keep it to yourself. #conflict #war #history #army #coachingtip #art #conversation #patience #battle #photography #refugee #instagram #love #conflictresolution #negotiation #peace #dontgiveup #guns #historic #money #friend #activism #and #Australia #blockchain #createchange #makeastand #change #charity #mediation

11.01.2022 Happy Valentine's Day! I am going to spend time with my husband and make yummy food as that makes him feel loved and our kids love that as well. Valentine's Day is not a big deal for us as we see it as a commercial kind of thing but we do make a big deal out of appreciating each other a lot so we will do that today as well! Everyone has a different way or receiving love so it is important you know what that way is if you want to make the other person feel loved. Giving the...m what makes you feel loved might not work even when the intentions are great!! This is important not just on valentines day but every day as a lot of people leave relationships because they do not feel loved and supported. 10.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and father figures out there! I hope you had a great day. Dads are so important in children's lives! 10.01.2022 We all want to be heard, but sometimes you also need to listen too The key component to successful conflict resolution is listening to the other side of the conflict, it doesn’t mean your wrong or your feelings aren’t valid. If you can’t listen to the other side of the conflict it is impossible to resolve. ... So remember it takes courage for you to stand up and speak but it also takes courage to sit down and listen to the other person. Save this post for later or send this to a friend who you think may need to hear this message..

10.01.2022 Communication is key! When I facilitate a mediation and the clients make great agreements I am very happy for my clients. It is fabulous...but I guess you can hear a 'but' coming. Some people think that this is where it all ends... People say things like..."We have agreements in place now so everything will be fine from now on". And it might be but there is no guarantee. Effective communication is what is going to make all the difference. You can have as many agreements in p...lace if you like, if you cannot communicate it is not going to work. I always say "life will happen' and you will have to be able to talk and have some flexibility. If 2020 taught us anything it is that we do not know how what the future holds and we have to be able to adapt. In the meditations I facilitate I always have communication on the agenda as I believe it is one of the most important topics to discuss! 09.01.2022 Did you know that emotions impact negotiations a lot? Research shows that emotions play a major part in the outcome of a negotiation. Let's look at one emotion at the time. ANGER is an emotion that comes up often in negotiations. A lot of people still think that being angry is a great way to negotiate as it will scare the other party. When given a choice between being happy or angry in a negotiation 50% in the people taking part in this resear...ch choose being angry! What a lot of people don't know is that being angry in a negotiation comes at a cost: - you can damage a relationship beyond repair - people might walk away from the negotiation all together. Other consequences are: - it harms the negotiation process - it is likely there will be more impasses and more bias perception - it will decrease cooperation People are less accurate when they are angry. It becomes more about harming the other party. So when a possibility of win-win situation shows up it might be dismissed all together even when it could be a better outcome for everyone including the person that is angry! When people are angry they often cannot remember what they wanted to get out of the negotiation and they definitely cannot listen to the other party. That cannot lead to a great outcome. Being angry is like throwing a bomb into the negotiation process and that bomb will harm everyone on the negotiation table including you. . . #mediation #love #mindfulness #healing #happy #motivation #inspiration #selfcare #wellness #peace#life #mediator #instagood #loveyourself #photooftheday #health #coaching #consciousness #energy #negotiation #business #negotiator #expertadvice #entrepreneur #leadership #conflict #negotiate #perth #familylaw #perthisok See more

09.01.2022 I have been asked why I have chosen to be a mediator quite a bit over the last few weeks so I figured I will tell you why. I enjoyed my law degree, but when I worked in a law firm I realised I loved being with people not staring at contracts. I started my own personal development journey and I did a coaching and counselling diploma. After all this I moved from the Netherlands to Australia for my boyfriend (now husband). And the universe heard must have he...ard me think....I do not want to be a lawyer...because guess what? I could not practice as a lawyer in WA. I re-assessed what I wanted to do and I figured out that the combination of my skills that I gained by being trained in law and counselling were perfect for mediation. Mediation was exactly what I was looking for, being with people, have people resolve their issues in communication, not in court and making a difference so people could stop suffering. It ticked ALL the boxes. So I got a job as a PA and did all the necessary training as fast as I could. I got accredited as a National Accredited Mediator and FDRP (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner) with the Attorney's General''s office. I worked for others first before I started my own mediation practice and the rest is history! If you are interested in learning more about how to become a mediator, how to get experience or want coaching on how to set up a mediation practice or start your journey comment below or send me a DM. 07.01.2022 So what is it that I actually do as a conflict resolution and negotiation specialist? I help people resolve conflict as a mediator. This can be conflict between family or ex-partners, conflict in a workplace or a commercial dispute. As a mediator I see everyone that is involved in the conflict separately first so I can hear everyone's story. In the intake session I listen to my clients, coach my clients and I make sure that everyone is prepared for the... mediation. After the intake sessions I facilitate the mediation session. The mediation session is not on the same day as the intake session and these sessions are often quite long, a minimum of 3 hours. I help people to communicate effectively and get to the bottom of their conflict and the underlying issues. When everyone gets clear on what is important to every individual we can start working on getting to a resolution that is leads to a win-win situation for everyone involved. I also train and coach people in conflict resolution skills. I do this with groups and individuals. I train people to become mediators and do the job that I do and I teach mediation at Law School so our future lawyers are hopefully equipped with skills in negotiation and mediation so they keep their clients out of the court system. I do all sorts of other project all over the place and I am always up to something new, but I just wanted to give you a sense of the main areas of my work in this post. If you have any questions about mediation or the work I do as a facilitator comment below or send me a message. 07.01.2022 Love wins. Whether it is working out if you still want to be with your partner and you are going through that process with a professional, or you have decided you want to separate and now you need to work through that process (which can be a legal process), or you have a family member that you are in conflict with and so on the examples are endless.. The point I am trying to make is that all these processes should be driving by love even if they are legal processes. I steer ...all my clients away from making decisions or communicating with the people in their lives from a place of fear, anger, resentment, tit-for-tat, or revenge. It just does not work and people can find themselves in a place of entrenched conflict that can ruin everyone's live. The impact can be HUGE! 06.01.2022 Tips on how to have a conversation with someone you feel you cannot reason with!!! ***The first step would be to accept that their view is valid even though you think it is crazy. Everyone has their own perception and views of a situation and is entitled to that. That is what we all love about our society and you cannot only love it when people agree with you. ***If you make fun of the other party because of their view the conversat...ion will be over very quickly I promise. Listen and validate their view, this does not mean you have to agree with it! ***Talk about the issue at hand and keep talking about the issue and do not make it about the person. When things become personal it normally get emotional very quickly. ***The only way you are going to understand the other person is by listen to what they have to say and get an understanding of where they are coming from. Understanding someone is not the same as agreeing with it. Magic happens when people feel really listened to and do feel validated. Plus often people are a lot more open to listening to the other person when they have been listened to first. This does not mean you are going to agree on everything but possibilities for agreement and moving forward will be likely to show up! #communication #family #clear #clearcommunication #love #leadership #entrepreneur #success #community #happy #entrepreneurship #motivation #fun #inspiration #businessowner #network #opportunities #digital #work #perth #perthlife #perthisok #westernaustralia #perthcity #perthblogger #perthgram #thisiswa #soperth #perthwa #fremantle See more

06.01.2022 This is my happy face because I LOVE training people in conflict resolution and mediation. I love it! 05.01.2022 2020 has been a strange, unnerving, crazy whirlwind and I cannot believe that we are in September already! Some of 2020 has been a bit of a blur and I don't know about you but I think that all the emotions, the changes to our 'normal' life, the concerns about the future has taken its toll on people. I see it in my work and in my private life; people are a lot more on edge, more stressed, feel more overwhelmed and are suffering more from mental health is...sues. And I think that is completely normal under the circumstances. So if you feel like this don't think there is anything wrong with you! I am always very conscious about managing my own mental health because I cannot help people when I am not in a good place, but I am looking after my mental health even more now. I am human and I feel the same stresses as everyone else. One of the things I do when I feel overwhelmed is to write down my thoughts and if I need to take action on particular things I write them down as well. Pouring everything out of my head onto paper gives me clarity and everything literally leaves my mind so I can have some peace of mind. What is it that you do get clarity when you feel overwhelmed and look after your mental health? #story #plot #perthisok #storytelling #storyteller #mediation #mediator #wellness #mindfullness #life #dutch #travelling #dontgiveup #goodvibes #covid19 #happiness# consciousness #persistence #motivation #dedication #hardwork #success #goals #inspiration #anxiety#focus #myjourney #journey #proud #mentalhealth See more

05.01.2022 Those who have ever done any training or mediation with me know that I am big on keeping my word and I talk about how important it is to keep your word. Integrity is everything. If you make agreements and you do not stick to them it is inevitable that conflict will escalate. Plus your word will mean nothing if people know you as someone that says one thing and does something else. My advice is, if you are not sure you can follow through... on the agreements you are about to make, do not commit and communicate that you are not sure if you can commit to the agreement at that point in time. Find out if you are able to stick these agreements or not and finish the negotiations at that point. 04.01.2022 Hi I am Lisanne! There are so many new people on my page welcome and let me tell you a bit about me. I own Life Mediation my business, I have two beautiful kids with my husband and my husband has a beautiful daughter as well. I am Dutch from origin and I love living in Perth. So why do I do what I do? I am super passionate about conflict resolution and negotiation because it can give people peace of mind and so much more happiness in their personal and pr...ofessional lives. And it saves people time and money! I see people suffer on a daily basis and it can be so hard to watch. I know that this suffering is not necessary and that's why I love my job and help people to make changes. I help people resolve conflict by facilitating mediation session and I do that mainly for family law matters, when people are separated and need to work out parenting arrangements and financial agreements and workplace mediation, when there is conflict in the workplace. I also train people in conflict resolution, communication and negotiation skills I do that at universities and businesses. Because preventing is so much better than having to resolve conflict! I mentor and supervise mediator all over Australia and I love my job so much. I feel so lucky that I get to make a difference to people on a daily basis! 04.01.2022 Over the last months it has become clear to me that people need more support now than ever in working on their relationships in order not to separate. I have been requested to do sessions with couples that want to stay together multiple times and the episodes that I released on my podcast that are about ' how to negotiate with your partner' ' how to resolve conflict with your partner' and the like have received a very positive response. Because of these requests I have done... my research, and planning over the last months and I have decided to start providing Relationships mediation. To be clear it is not relationships counselling. I will mediate like I always do but in a different context. Relationships mediation is future focused, I will help you to problem solve and you will work on your conflict resolution, negotiation and communication skills. I am super excited to start this new part of my practice and I will keep providing mediation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner for separated couples as per normal. The website will be updated this week but you can start booking in now! I have posted an article on what Relationships mediation is and how it works on my LinkedIn profile for those who want to know more. 03.01.2022 I have talked about how emotions negatively impact negotiation last week when I spoke about what anxiety does to your negotiations. Today I am going to look the emotion ANGER today. As an emotion anger is rarely productive in you or in the person that you are negotiating with. It releases stress hormones in your body and neurochemicals that disrupt your ability to property evaluate and respond to situations. The other problem is that your anger blinds you... to the fact that you are angry in the first place, which gives you a false sense of confidence. So tip one. Calm yourself or the other person down or have a break. Or do the following: It does work to ignore negative feelings either, that can be as damaging. Instead they should be teased out and named. You can name it like this: ' I know that you are scared' 'I can see you are angry' etc. Research shows that the best way to deal with negativity is to observe it, without a reaction and without judgement. Then consciously label each negative feeling and replace it with positive, compassionate and solution based thoughts. (chris voss) If you are interested in how to do this effectively with family members or in business contact me I can help you with that! . . . . #negotiation #business #negotiator #realestate #motivation #entrepreneur #leadership #linkinbio #management #love #negotiate #rebeccazung #bairdwarner #buy #10x #advertising #career #chicago #chicagolandsrealestateagent #negocjacje #realtor #coaching #conference #deals #entrepreneurship #football #goals #home #closer #dream See more

02.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a great week. I had a great week it was super busy and I loved it but it is important that I recharge on the weekend. I am very disciplined during the week so I love having a glass of wine and delicious food on a Friday night to celebrate the start of the weekend and treat myself. My children are vegetarian so we often eat vegetarian food. This is our famous veggie stack that my sister in law taught me how to make on ...a girls weekend away. It is simple, delicious and it looks so fancy! I find cooking relaxing when I have time to potter and not rush, and I love eating (it might be my favourite thing to do). So cooking and eating delicious food is definitely on the 'to do list' for this weekend. What do you do to relax and recharge on the weekend? . . 01.01.2022 I was speaking to my dad this week and he said he was so touched by what I posted by him on Father's day. For those who did not see it, I acknowledged him for the amazing dad he is and the difference he makes to my life. His words were: 'that would be something normally people would only say at your funeral'. That made me think...he is right, a lot of people won't share with the people around them how much they love them and what difference they make to t...heir life. Please don't wait and regret not sharing how much you love people and resolve conflict with people you love.

01.01.2022 It is fathers day tomorrow so I wanted you to meet my husband Arifin. Dont think we are perfect, we do each others heads in at times and we disagree and are in conflict with each other often. Who do you have in your life that you are grateful for? . . #story #plot #perthisok #storytelling #storyteller #mediation #mediator #wellness#life #dutch #travelling #dontgiveup #goodvibes #marriage #findinglove #happiness# consciousness #persistence #motivation #dedication #hardwork #success #goals #inspiration #pushyourself #focus #myjourney #journey #proud #patience See more
