25.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Elise Taranto Elise danced with LPD from the age of 5 right through to 17. It was a huge part of her childhood and gave her so much more than the ability to bust a move! She loved the social aspect of dance. Spending 3 nights a week with an extremely close bunch of girls, many from different schools who she wouldn’t have otherwise met. Elise is still close with these girls today catching up when they can and celebrating each other’s milestones whether t...hat’s a wedding or an overseas move. She has no doubts their troupe will remain like this forever. Dance gave Elise a certain level of self confidence that she has carried with her throughout her adult life. It’s the little things, like Miss Lisa’s voice in the back her head saying shoulders back that come to mind when standing up in front of a crowd or sitting in an important meeting. Today, Elise is an accountant that has just recently started her own practice. Elise’s career started in Melbourne, took her to San Francisco and now is back to Gippsland. #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland See more

20.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Sylvia Williams I began dancing at LPD in the 90s. It was definitely my second home! I learnt so much more then just how to dance. One of the most important things it taught me was how important commitment is and to follow what you believe in. I also made life long friends that I am still in touch with today. When I graduated I came back on and off for a few years to help teach when needed as it’ll always be my second home and such a passion of mine. All the different skills that you learn from dance can lead you down so many different paths - I am now a full time Personal Assistant for a Mortgage Broker, living in Warrnambool. #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland

20.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Jackson Patterson I started my training at LPD back in 2007. From there, performing arts and dance became a massive part of my life. In 2016 I was accepted into the Victorian college of the Arts Secondary School for dance and I completed my years 11 and 12 there. I was then fortunate in being accepted into Andrew Hallsworth’s musical theatre course at Patrick School of the Arts. I hope to travel the world and perform in musicals professionally one day in the near future. LPD played an enormous role in where I am today and I am extremely grateful for the life skills and wealth of knowledge I gained #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland

20.01.2022 Open our dance schools Gippsland dancers and dance studio owners are furious about bans and inconsistent rules stopping regional children attending dance... classes. The Premier has stopped dance schools reopening until 23 November 2020 at the earliest and ONLY if there has been zero cases state wide for 14 days. While U18 outdoor contact sport is allowable, it’s illogical that ballet has been classified a high-risk activity. Studio’s are huge open plan spaces and well managed. Dancers are incredibly disciplined. Regional dance studios should be allowed to open for Term 4 with COVIDsafe plans in place. The glaring inconsistencies in Daniel Andrews roadmap must be addressed. It continues to discriminate against many industries, devoid of accurate science and sound medical advice. Instead of picking and choosing the fate of people’s livelihoods and acceptable activities, Daniel Andrews should be developing restrictions based on sound advice. The decision to ban dance schools will have disastrous consequences for the arts in Victoria and the many young children who will sadly miss out in term 4. 17.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Lisa Gowers (Scoble) I started at LPD when I was in grade 3 (1993) and finished in year 11 (2001). LPD was such a huge part of my childhood and formed a part of the foundation of the women I have become. It was where I found my idols and deepest friendships. I look back on my days dancing with the fondest of memories. I remember when I started, absolutely idolising how great the dancers were and felt such a determination to strive to be as good as they wer...e. My first dance at a LPD concert was Put your shoes on Lucy which I still remember the words. Dancing teaches you to ‘put yourself out there’ and instills a huge amount of confidence - all great life lessons that have helped me. Troupes in hind sight were my favourite, as I loved being apart of a team. My favourite style was by far modern (jazz), I loved it! I was never much of a ballerina, but I did all styles, including solos and duos. Thank you to Miss Lisa and Fraise for the amazing memories and to my Mum who was a legend costume maker and all the time that she put into my dancing. Thanks Dad for paying the fees and waiting for me every night after class in the car park. Life after dancing saw me studying massage and finding a passion for the day spa industry. I worked on a ship traveling the world, have worked at the snow at Falls Creek and on Hamilton Island before settling and opening my own day spa business in Williamstown, Melbourne, Lavanya Spa Retreat, which I built with my husband Kurt 8 years ago. Dancing definitely stays with you, from coordination, posture and ever lasting friendships & connections. #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland See more

17.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Lucy Hogan Whilst Lucy was training with LPD in 2013, she was accepted into the Australian Ballet Schools Interstate Training Program. The following year she joined the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary Colleges fulltime dance program and remained there until the end of 2016. In 2017 she was to be the Vice School Captain of VCASS but Queensland Ballet Academy had offered Lucy a position and she relocated up to the sunny state to begin with the Senior Program. Lucy moved through the Academy’s Senior Program levels for the next two years winning two scholarships, before successfully auditioning for the Queensland Ballets Pre-Professional Program where she is today #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland

13.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Jayde deBont-Pipan Jayde started dancing at Lisa Pellin Dancers in 1998 and was part of the LPD family for ten years before moving to boarding school. Dance taught Jayde discipline, teamwork, resilience and persistence. Jayde still remains life-long friends with her dance troupe, who’ve known each-other for over 20 years, many of whom attended her wedding in 2018. Jayde currently lives in Melbourne and is the Senior Community Advocacy and Development Off...icer at a Local Government Council, and sits as the co-Chair of the Victorian Ministerial LGBTIQ Taskforce. 11.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Sophie Maxwell I remember the moment I fell in love with dance very clearly. I was sitting on my cousin Janelle’s family lounge room floor while she practised her jazz solo. I looked at Mum, demanded she sign me up, and that was it. Whilst as a six year old I dreamt of being able to jete’ like Janelle, I didn’t really realise how life changing that decision was. Miss Lisa taught us about discipline and that the harder you work the luckier you get. Those... who worked hard absolutely succeeded, and whilst I probably wasn’t the hardest worker, I got to see how those around me evolved into beautiful dancers and enjoyed the best years of my life spending every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday after school plus the first week of school holidays being immersed in dance life. Through LPD I met some of the most influential women who had the most positive impact on my life. I didn’t realise how blessed I was at the time, but I look back and wish I could relive it! My dance career gave me the determination and confidence to aim high, and I’m now lucky enough to work in media and communications for a large corporation. Miss Lisa along with those who I was extremely lucky to spend all those years with were absolute role models to me. I just hope that when I have kids they will be so lucky to have people around them who have the same impact. #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland See more

10.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Breeana Clegg (Gardiner) When I was 4 I was desperate to start ballet lessons. I watched my older cousins dance and thought it looked like the best thing in the world. I wasn’t wrong!! I continued to dance at LPD for 14 very happy years, before I moved to Melbourne to attend University. Having qualified as a Dietitian, I followed my dreams and moved to London (and fell in love and I’m still here!). Since being in London, my dancing skills have served me w...ell. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in amateur theatre productions, which have been such wonderful experiences and allowed me to meet a great group of people. LPD taught me so much more than just how to be a dancer. It taught me about teamwork, discipline and respect. I am, and always will be, extremely grateful for all the skills I have learnt and the lifelong friends I have made along the way. The foundations of LPD set you up for life! LPD has provided me with the skills to access amazing experiences and has most certainly shaped the person I am today. 10.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Kiara Arestia I started with Lisa Pellin Dancers when I was 5 and continued until I was 19. Dancing was a huge part of my life growing up, spending many nights after school in classes and many school holidays competing at Eistedfodds. I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Throughout my time at LPD I made lots of great friendships and made some special memories that will last forever. Dance helped me to grow in self confidence and taught me the importance o...f discipline and determination. After finishing school I moved to Melbourne to study a Bachelor of Education. I have now moved back to South Gippsland and am a Primary School Teacher. I hope that I can be an inspiration to the children I teach just like Miss Lisa and the other teachers are and will continue to be to many people. #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland See more

09.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Gemma Richards I started dancing at the young age of three and instantly fell in love! Dance has since been the main focus of my life. I continued dancing after my time at LPD, leaving home at age 17, making the move to Melbourne to study at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. From there, I moved onto study my Advanced Diploma in Dance and Certificate 4 in Musical Theatre at Dance World Studios. After graduating in 2015, I continued dancing, teaching a...round Melbourne and auditioning. In 2018 all my hard work paid off and I landed a job as a dancer and performer at Shanghai Disney resort, where I am still currently working after two years. LPD was my second home and will always hold a very special place in my heart. 05.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Jonti Westaway I started dancing at Lisa Pellin Dancers in Foster when I was 10 and then joined the Leongatha school a few years later, where I stayed until I finished school. During my time at LPD I gained so many beautiful friendships that will last a lifetime. Dance taught me so many life lessons about hard work, respect, discipline, team work and support which are so beneficial in my life today. I have just completed a Bachelor of Health Science, major...ing in Nutrition and Health Promotion and am embarking on a Masters in Dietetics this year, to one day hopefully work in a hospital as a Dietician. I definitely wouldn’t be who or where I am today without dance and everyone at LPD. 05.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Abbey Mitchell Hi, I’m Abbey and I loved dancing with LPD! I began officially in 1991, age 3 at LPD and continued until 18. Along the way I became student teacher and learnt to choreograph on the spot at Foster with Miss Cassie (many thanks). I finished school and moved to Perth to study contemporary dance at WAAPA. I was scared but excited to be going to a school like Fame- where I imagined flash mobs would break out at lunchtime! I taught dance as a part... time job. I graduated and moved back to Melbourne, whilst teaching dance I began studying kinesiology, I learnt about moving and the body in a whole new way - fascinating. After that I got my masters in teaching and became a primary teacher whilst supporting myself teaching dance. Since then I’ve moved to the Mornington Peninsula and had 3 children and I’m still teaching dance and dancing around the lounge room. I love sharing my passion of dance and spinning until I’m dizzy (I mean I spot). I’m forever grateful to LPD and Miss Lisa, I hope all LPD students are tapping up a loud storm and wearing holes in the carpet xx ps. your parents are captive audience best time to put on a show for them #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland See more

03.01.2022 #LPDwherearetheynow Elysia Shaw I started dancing around the age of 7 and instantly loved it! Dance helped me step out of my comfort zone. Being on stage helped me become less shy and it gave me a lot more confidence. I made some great friends and loved spending the school holidays competing at Eisteddfods. Dance was a great way to keep fit and very rewarding when you finally grasped a move or sequence you were working on. Ballet made me a lot more aware of my body and as an... adult I can self correct and adjust my body position, which I find very helpful when I’m practicing yoga. I’m now nursing on the Cardiothoracics ward at St Vincents in Fitzroy and starting to complete my post graduate studies in that area #lisapellindancers #lpd5678 #leongatha #foster #inverloch #dance #dancefamily #dancestudio #localtalent #supportlocal #southgippsland See more
