19.01.2022 Hi everyone, We wanted to write to you directly in light of the uncertainty we are all facing in our daily lives with the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We want to keep you informed of the steps we are taking at Lisarow Physio to ensure we are prepared to service your needs. As it stands Physiotherapy comes under the banner of essential services. We anticipate that we will stay open through the next few months in an attempt to take some of the pressure of GP services. Ou...r absolute number one priority is the safety of our customers, patients and staff no matter what happens. Hygiene is critical Health authorities have been clear that maintaining good hygiene is absolutely critical in stopping the spread of COVID-19. Our clients should expect nothing less at Lisarow Physio. Our waiting room, rehab area and treatment rooms will be routinely and thoroughly cleaned and wiped down. We are staging appointments and increasing space in our waiting room to improve social distancing. Treatment tables, door handles, and of course our hands will be cleaned between patients. We ask you to please wash your hands with the hand sanitiser provided before coming into the treatment room. Lisarow Physio is here to help We know that people’s day-to-day lives are disrupted right now because of COVID-19, and we’re working hard to ensure we provide the best service to you during this period. We intend to stay open and operate as usual. We have a dedicated team available to answer any of your questions related to our practice, so you know you have the support you need from us. Telehealth - Online Physiotherapy Online physiotherapy services have been in play for almost 10 years now. Lisarow Physio are now offering Online Physiotherapy consultations for all our patients. The consultations offer an amazing level of flexibility. Consultations will take place online from the comfort of your home at a time that suits you. We can come to you - Home visits We are aware that many of our customers suffer from chronic respiratory issues and may have started to self-isolate at home. We are now offering home visits at no extra cost (over a standard consultation) for patients over 60 years. We are also reducing the cost of our standard home visit treatment for all our customers. We’re actively working with NSW Health to seek regular advice and guidance so we can prepare for any outcome as the situation evolves. I hope your questions can be answered below. Frequently Asked Questions... What is Telehealth? Telehealth is a completely online, interactive way to deliver healthcare via video or audio. How does physiotherapy work via telehealth? All of our physios are well equipped and trained to assess and treat via online video consultation. This works similar to a regular consultation, where the physio will take a detailed history of your injury, and then complete an assessment which may include viewing your indicated area of pain, looking at your range of motion and completing a movement (for example, squat). These assessments will help form a management plan for your injury. How can we help if we can’t touch you? Many of our in-clinic sessions also don’t involve manual therapy. Current research supports the use of education and exercise therapy over hands on (manual) therapy. Excellent outcomes can be achieved with online consultations. How do I access a telehealth video consult with Lisarow Physio? Lisarow Physio use Zoom as our platform to deliver online video consultations. Once you have booked your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with directions on how to download the Zoom application. Lisarow Physiotherapy will make contact prior to the appointment to arrange a meeting identification and password for you to join the video connection. Where should I set up for my consultation? Set you phone, computer or laptop up in a well-lit environment with minimal background noise. Ensure it is somewhere where you are comfortable both sitting and moving around (for your assessment). You may need to clear a bit of space for this. What should I wear? A singlet is appropriate for an upper limb injury, shorts for a lower limb injury. We may ask you to remove your shirt (females please wear a sports bra) for some body parts to allow for an accurate assessment of your injury. All online telehealth consultations are safe, confidential and private. How do I pay for my consultation? Can I claim back on private health insurance? We are offering Telehealth services are significantly reduced price. Initial consultations will cost $60 and follow up consultations at $50. Our admin staff will follow up payment with you following your consultation. A recent announcement from the Private Health Care Australia confirmed that Health funds will provide coverage for teleconsultations provided by physiotherapists from Tuesday 14 April 2020.
