24.01.2022 Looking forward to having real live students this week! Don't forget to come here to my studio!Looking forward to having real live students this week! Don't forget to come here to my studio!

22.01.2022 I hope to see some familiar faces in the audience this Sunday! It should be a lovely concert. I've heard the sopranos and the violin duets and they are beautiful. You can get tickets at the door if you have cash, but even better to get them at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/dances-duets-tickets-722065

21.01.2022 I’ve had a recent surge of adult students lately. It’s fantastic to teach all ages. It’s certainly never too late to make music!

20.01.2022 Fifteen of my students performed this evening for an appreciative crowd of family and friends. We finished with a group piece that everyone played - even my beginners. Well done to everyone!

20.01.2022 How well everyone played last night at our Not-Quite-End-of-Year Recital! All students have worked hard this year at their playing, and have improved greatly! All the best to those having exams and school concerts soon.

19.01.2022 I'm so proud of all my flute and clarinet students that performed this evening - some of them for the first time solo in front of an audience! We finished off with Christmas tunes from the Flute Ensemble and a yummy supper. Thanks to everyone for making it a great evening!

18.01.2022 Our first "socially distanced" recital went smoothly! I am so proud, especially of a few students who performed in front of people for the first time EVER! I'm also very proud of my "adult beginner" flute quartet that sounded beautiful...and of course all of my students who worked hard to present what they have been learning to a very friendly audience of family members.

17.01.2022 Hope to see you there! (I'll be playing Flute and Piccolo).

17.01.2022 I'm so excited that my orchestra has figured out how to perform our music under current restrictions! This will be a good event for families, as it will be a casual atmosphere (BYO deck chair), an hour of music, and some well known tunes - some with singers and some with just orchestra. (I will be playing flute and piccolo). No tickets at the gate on the day, so get your tickets now from Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/opera-in-the-car-park-ticke

12.01.2022 Here is the edited version of my post from yesterday. This is just the Online Orchestra performance (6 minutes). What do you think?

10.01.2022 Only 8 more days! Students are working hard on their pieces for my next student recital. All family and friends are welcome to come and support these hard-working students!

09.01.2022 Saxophone Cleaning and Care (very important!). This is for all my school students (I don't teach sax at my home studio because of noise issues - my studio is above an office where 3 people work!). PLEASE CLEAN YOUR SAXOPHONE EVERY TIME YOU PLAY. Watch this video to remind you how it goes.....

09.01.2022 After one postponement of our concert due to bad weather, my orchestra finally performed in the car park on Sunday! (Yes, the secret location was the car park between my house and the church!). It was a lovely late-afternoon and over 100 audience members enjoyed some beautiful music, with the singers standing above the orchestra on the stairs leading up to my kitchen! Yes, we can have events under current restrictions, they just take a bit more planning and work....I'm thankful that this one worked!

08.01.2022 If your child is considering undertaking AMEB exams, have a listen to this interview with the CEO of AMEB on ABC's breakfast show.

06.01.2022 Some school holiday listening for my flute students! Some of these pieces are quite long, but listen to a few minutes of each and see if you like it. Maybe try to listen to at least a portion one piece each day. Happy listening! (Click on this link, not the picture) https://www.classicfm.com//i/flute/best-pieces-music-ever/

06.01.2022 Hopefully students are not too nervous about playing in my student recital tomorrow. It will be a friendly audience of family and friends, and everyone has prepared for their performance very well. See you all a bit before 6:30 to tune and set up. Remember to bring a small plate of supper (and please take home leftovers) and dress for students is neat casual.

06.01.2022 I'm so excited about my upcoming orchestra concert - only 3 weeks away now. We are playing some great movie music and we have some fun surprises in store too! Get your tickets now from www.eventbrite.com.au/e/cinema-classics-tickets-50514139150

06.01.2022 I am now offering lessons online! Contact me if you want to try a "test" lesson.

05.01.2022 This is truly an amazing production. To put together 1900 performers could have been a big mess, but this is a wonderfully woven tapestry of singing and playing. I've watched it twice and still can't see any glimpses of the Flute Ensemble video in the "mosaic" of videos, but we know that the audio of our group was in the mix! This post is the whole 2 hour live broadcast, but you can find the Online Orchestra's performance of Waltzing Matilda in the last 6 minutes - Enjoy!

04.01.2022 EOSY sale! (End of School Year). Portable Clarinet or Flute stands only $10 (would make a good stocking-stuffer!). Other items in my "shop" that are always here: flute thumb ports, clarinet thumb cushions, flute cleaning sticks and cloths, clarinet pull-through cloths, reeds and of course, AMEB and tutor books for both flute and clarinet.
