05.01.2022 Are you Breaking the Law because of your "small" inflatable pool? It has been SO HOT over summer, but did you know that new pool regulations mean that ALL pools (inflatable or otherwise) that can hold more than 300mm of water (ie. the length of a standard ruler) require a pool compliance certificate, to be registered and approved through council AND secure fencing surrounding it!!!! For us, the biggest concern here is with tenants having a pool without formal approval... eve...n a deep toddler wading pool... because if something WERE to go wrong - even if we didn't know the pool existed - the liability falls on the landlord/home owner!!! So if you're a landlord (and you don't have your property managed by us), make sure there are NO inflatables!!! Now more than ever we need to advocate for a contemporary cultural art centre in the old Newcastle train station and along the corridor.
