24.01.2022 I was recently interviewed by the ABC along with other sexologists on what it's like seeing a sex therapist. It may feel daunting at first but most clients say how relieved they are after their first session. www.lisatorney.com.au

22.01.2022 Im proud to be an accredited clinical psychosexual therapist with SAS. When seeking the support of a sex therapist make sure to check their qualifications and professional memberships. www.lisatorney.com.au

19.01.2022 It was terrific making my debut on The Secret MENS Business podcast with Joe-y Busuttil from Equator Hypnotherapy discussing male sexuality. You can listen to us on Spotify, ITunes and Podomatic. www.lisatorney.com.au

15.01.2022 The wonderful things you see on the footpath on your morning walk!

15.01.2022 This is a long read but well worth it and hey, weve got a lot of time to fill at the moment! Were not used to spending so much time with each other and its bound to be challenging. Theres great advice here from a relationship therapist on ways we can manage which can be applied to housemates too. Whilst our relationships may be tested during this health crisis, they can also be strengthened.

15.01.2022 Good sex is about being connected, present and playful. When we mindfully prioritize pleasure we become attuned to bodily sensations, our core emotions and how were feeling and this leads to being present and in the moment which is the key to a pleasure filled sex life.

14.01.2022 What a genius idea!

14.01.2022 The power of gratitude

14.01.2022 A mate once said to me that I talk about The Pause more than anyone and I thought hell yes I do! Perimenopause especially needs to be discussed as it can last several years with varying degrees of impact. Sharing our experiences and ways to manage helps so lets keep the conversations going.

13.01.2022 Join sexologist Kerrin Bradfield in this 20 minute podcast discussing our current worldwide anxiety and how the way we shift our words, language and actions can impact greatly on human rights and give us hope in a challenging time. Its a sensational listen! www.goldcoastsexology.com.au

09.01.2022 Trust is crucial in all relationships, intimate or otherwise. I like this list as it reminds us of what to seek in others and what to demonstrate ourselves.

09.01.2022 My dear friend Kerrin Bradfield from Gold Coast Sexology has launched a podcast which is very exciting! Whilst Ive spoken on several podcasts before this is the first time Ive done a personal deep dive discussing whether we have an internal monologue, (to Kerrins shock, I dont!) and how this shapes us. We talk about the messy hats we wear, rumination, what its like having a quiet brain, perfectionism, and the joy of giving less fucks.

09.01.2022 Im kicking off the week with a guide to female ejaculation.

08.01.2022 I speak to people in therapy about the importance of setting boundaries and the difficulties they may experience. I often hear what it felt like when they did set a boundary, prioritised themselves and didnt feel guilty. It can feel empowering and make for happier relationships. www.lisatorney.com.au

07.01.2022 In this difficult and stressful time its important to not only look after each other but to take care of our mental well being. Medicare rebates for telehealth sessions (online or phone) have been extended for vulnerable groups including the elderly, those with chronic health conditions, from Indigenous communities, those diagnosed with COVID-19 or required to isolate in quarantine and parents of a child under 12 months. These sessions are bulk billed at no cost to you if you have a mental health care plan referral from your GP. Please get in touch if you are needing support, reach out to your family and friends and practice self care and compassion. www.lisatorney.com.au

07.01.2022 I'm very excited to be joining Kerrie and Dolly's House Party tonight for a chat. Look at all this fabulous colour and sparkle! You can tune in at http://joy.org.au/

07.01.2022 Perhaps you are familiar with some of these things either having seen them on dating apps or maybe done them yourself. Some things to be mindful of when setting up a profile and interacting online.

07.01.2022 "When your world is shaken up it can cast a dark cloud over everything, making it difficult to enjoy what you once enjoyed. But sometimes joy can sneak up on you in the most unexpected ways and remind you that there is still beauty in the world, despite all the suffering".

06.01.2022 There are many misconceptions about sex and I've heard most of these in therapy sessions. Talking to a sex therapist can help you explore what factors may be impacting having a happy satisfying sex life.

05.01.2022 This is a wonderful course I highly recommend with Kerrin Bradfield at Open Book Project. It's an incredible opportunity to better understand ourselves and how our attitudes and values impact us and others.

03.01.2022 I think this can be applied to relationships that are broader than romantic partners and is a nice way to think about how to live our lives.

02.01.2022 This is a great read about the power of gratitude. Ways we can be more mindful include keeping a daily gratitude journal, telling the people in our lives what we appreciate about them and thinking of our qualities and accomplishments.

02.01.2022 Sexual anxiety and insecurity is extremely common and if we can more openly discuss sex it can help us feel less embarrassed and become more connected to pleasure. If youre struggling with thoughts about sexual practices, desires or feelings talk to a sex therapist to see how we can help. www.lisatorney.com.au

01.01.2022 Lets get this new week off to a good start!
