01.01.2022 A heartfelt message from Katrina.. Our thoughts are with all the people and animals that are facing the continuing fires today. Sending hope and love and wish...ing for rain. Wildlife carers rescue, raise rehabilitate and release orphaned and injured animals back into the wild all year round once they are old enough and strong enough. Here is a beautiful face displaying Hope amongst all the sad images!! It is one of my baby possums called Missy. Missy was rescued this year and she is now ready for release back into the wild, which will happen this month. Please remember there are wildlife carers all over Australia in every town that will be doing everything they can to try and save any animals that can be helped. They do this relentlessly 7 days a week all year around. If you know any of them, please check on them at this time and let them know they are making a difference, because it’s very hard at the moment to feel very positive. Hearts are breaking everywhere and it’s overwhelming but we need all our wildlife carers to continue to do what they do so we can start the big job of recovery. Be kind and be loving, it’s a time when everyone needs to come together. I urge people to avoid the blame game. The negative posts and seeing the division is not helping anyone and it is just so sad. To everyone fighting the fires, the animal hospitals and anyone helping in any way, thank-you.
