23.01.2022 Some glitches with computers have meant that we are not quite up to date with our posts but be assured that Messy Church continues to be a blessing to all. These photos were taken at our June gathering, July is missing and August will be in next post.

20.01.2022 This month we looked at healing with the story of Bartimaeus. The blind fold obstacle course led to some interesting discussion and thoughts on what it would be like to be blind; making an ambulance, happy/sad face, get well cards, bandaged prayers and string pictures were all enjoyed by those who attended. This was one of our biggest attendances with 50 people joining in the fun. It was a delight to have some more mature age children come along and enter into the whole service proving that Messy Church is for all ages.

17.01.2022 Our first Messy Church for 2015 focused on Temptation with an interesting array of activities. Numbers may have been a bit low but the enthusiasm of those attending was high, high, high. We were also blessed by having the Moderator of the NSW/ACT Synod join us.

15.01.2022 March Messy Church had an Easter theme with much of the focus on prayer, the children wrote some beautiful prayers which were hung on the all purpose tree. It seemed fitting that we should have our first Holy Communion during the celebration/church time. The response of the children - many of whom had not had Communion before - was amazing, they approached the time with much respect and peaceful quiet.

14.01.2022 Our first combined monthly Messy Church and weekly morning congregation came together at a new time for both to join the fun and 'specialness' of Messy Church. From the noise it was obvious that the grown up children were having a great time. Being December naturally the theme was Christmas with some great craft activities to be involved in. The morning concluded with a sausage sizzle bbq and carol singing. Christmas blessings to all and may 2015 be even messier.

13.01.2022 After a very successful combined Christmas Messy Church and traditional congregation service we are excited about what God will do this year. Our first Messy Church for the year is well into the planning stage with a very enthusiastic team; the theme is temptation.

11.01.2022 August's Messy Church was the biggest so far with two new families attending and 23 children enthusiastically participating in the activities. A big hit were the new percussion instruments used in worship time so we are not only messy but now even noisier. With 14 families registered (30 children) we are in need of extra team members so a recruiting drive will be taking place, prayers for a good response would be gratefully appreciated.

10.01.2022 It is hard to find more adjectives to describe how much our Messy Church is growing and impacting on the lives of the families who are attending. September was another great time with new families and friends of the children attending. This month we looked at Abraham and Sarah and how vast their family has become using stars and sand activities to make the point. It is a great joy to have the children contributing to the discussions.

07.01.2022 This month we focused on the parable of the Sower with activities including planting, invitation writing, sunflower biscuits, banner making, soil choosing even 'naughty bird' making. The celebration time included a family activity of planting a seed named for someone they wished to know Jesus and praying for them. A great time was had by all.

05.01.2022 Once again Messy Church has been a great encouragement to us; new families, interesting activities and more interaction by the children when it comes to discussion and sharing. We can't sing the praises of Messy Church enough and had some good opportunities to talk about it at the local Show this week where we provided a few activities just as an example.

04.01.2022 Our biggest ever Messy Church took place in 40+deg heat and was possibly our best yet. Stinky smells, boils, baking, weaving just to name a few were eagerly attempted as we looked at how Mosses trusted God to let Pharaoh release the Israelites. Preparations are under way for next month's Christmas celebration when both congregations of the Lismore Uniting Church join to get messy and have fun.

04.01.2022 Our August Messy Church looked at Jesus being a servant with the focus being on feet. Foot prints, making foot scrubs, matching feet to animals and some other yucky stuff was enjoyed by all. The celebration story was an interactive interpretation of Jesus washing the Disciples feet. The song Stinky Feet went down very well.

03.01.2022 May marked a special time for Lismore Regional Mission Messy Church - we celebrated our second birthday. Since commencing in May 2013 Messy Church has snowballed and doesn't look like losing momentum. The biggest promoters of Messy Church are the children - they talk about it to their friends and invite them along, grandparents get "dragged" along and bring extras with them, these children are not the evangelists of tomorrow they are already evangelising. Our theme this month was celebration and, boy, that is just what we did!

01.01.2022 The cold and wet weather didn't affect the attendances at this month's Messy Church. Another night of fun, games, art/craft, music, story and food was enjoyed by all. The theme was Who Is Jesus? with some very good comments and questions raised. Messy Church is a wonderful blessing to all.
