24.01.2022 THE SASSY BEAN ‘BIG BAD BOY’ CHALLENGE!!! Tried this BIG BAD BOY today at Lismore’s newest cafe, The Sassy Bean, which opened earlier this week on Monday at the... HomeCo Centre next door to Bunnings. This is a pressed Italian sandwich with too many layers to count. Big Tony bet me that I couldn’t guess how many layers went into this one. I was way off!!! Big Tony has now put out the challenge to anyone who drops by and says hello to try and get it right and outdo me, Big Rob. You can register your guess at the counter by Christmas Eve (this Thursday) for your chance to win your very own complete pressed Italian sandwich cob to enjoy at your next party or your 2021 New Year’s celebrations. This image is only one sixth of a complete cob. Big Tony is offering one complete cob to the first five people who guess correctly, or are the closest without going over. This thing was absolutely delicious!!! The Sassy Bean is open from 7am to 5pm seven days a week. Good luck!!! #SupportLocalBusiness #TheSassyBean #BigBadBoy

24.01.2022 PARKING AT LISMORE BASE HOSPITAL TO BE TARGETED AGAIN!!! Lismore City Council’s General Manager Shelley Oldham strikes again. A review of the effect of eased pa...rking restrictions around Lismore Base Hospital should go back to council to determine if they continue. Since there are no council meetings until February, the General Manager can hit up our front line hospital staff, and those of us less abled needing medical assistance, before councillors can make another decision. Using a return to pre-COVID conditions as an excuse is interesting, since the General Manager continues to refuse to allow members of the public back into the council Chamber. How can we trust any councillor who allows this ongoing disregard for what the public wants under this General Manager? __________ Parking restrictions reintroduced in hospital precinct Lismore City Council will return parking controls around the Lismore Base Hospital to pre-COVID conditions from Monday, 18 January 2021. All-day paid parking along Hunter and Dalziel streets and time-limited parking along Weaver and McKenzie streets and Laurel Avenue will be reintroduced from this date. Parking restrictions were eased for six months in April 2020 in the Lismore Base Hospital precinct in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was further extended in October for another three months. Changes will be made in the coming weeks to parking signage and meter displays to return parking controls to pre-COVID operations. #KeepingThemHonest #SackShelleyOldham

23.01.2022 People really need to stop accusing others to secure sympathy votes without providing evidence, or at least speaking the truth. They also really need to keep up... with their lies, and not post something only to then delete it to fit with their victim story. Where has any false information been spread, and where has any threat been made, as implied? Just saying something never makes it true. I particularly liked the comment targeting my reputation, since deleted by the poster, in the same comment where they said their threat allegation post was not about me. Why would anyone have a dig at someone who has said nothing about them and then cry victim when that person responds, if nothing else than to be able to cry victim? I love that Cr Neil ‘Dodgy’ Marks has aligned himself with another liar with grand political aspirations, backed by a marketing business trying to specialise in making things look good. I wonder if they will preference each other??? This is already shaping up to be the ugliest campaign ever!!! #KeepingThemHonest

22.01.2022 Council are currently discussing increasing fees and charges across the board by around 2.5% at a briefing session. True to form, Cr Elly ‘Rate Rise’ Bird is a...sking staff to prepare a plan to increase fees and charges by 4%. This one solution wonder continues chasing increasing the burden on every member of our community. Staff are trying to restrict the increase to 2.5% to recover a bit more than annual losses, but Cr Elly ‘Rate Rise’ Bird wants more!!! #KeepingThemHonest

20.01.2022 I just had my head buried in legal work for hours. I decided to take a break and saw this!!! How sneaky is the river to sneak up so quickly like this with not a...s much rain as I thought had come down over the catchments? Anyway, the lower car parks would cop some water from this so don't park there on the way into work in the morning. It will probably be obvious by then anyway. Have a good night. PS: I went for a drive to grab some photos after posting the original status. __________ UPDATE Initial Minor Flood Warning for the Wilsons River at Lismore Issued at 6:46 am EST on Wednesday 7 April 2021 Flood Warning Number: 1 MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT LISMORE WEDNESDAY MORNING Minor flooding is possible along the Wilsons River at Lismore Wednesday morning. 18.01.2022 From a reader... 'Somebody finally cleaned up the stupid caravan that’s been parked on the roundabout of Ballina Road and Dawson Street' Footage and images submitted.

18.01.2022 LISMORE CITY COUNCIL’S NEWEST HOMELESS SHELTER It appears Lismore City Council is now providing free accommodation at the Lismore Transit Centre. It is understo...od that those taking up the option can set up a tent at no cost, they can urinate and defecate on the pavement wherever they like, and they can threaten passersby with replica firearms with impunity. The location features a nearby river, adjoining toilet and shower facilities you don’t need to use, and free meals served most days at your door. It is understood councillors strongly support such a progressive move from council, with many suggesting that this will attract busloads of tourists to the CBD. #KeepingThemHonest #SackShelleyOldham

17.01.2022 Reports of complete chaos in downtown Lismore right now as a result of localised flooding following this most recent downpour. Uralba Street between Dawson St...reet and Lismore Square is under water right now, with many still driving straight through and creating huge wash. Dawson Street is also copping it as the pumps struggle to keep up. The roads have not been closed and no-one is monitoring traffic at the moment. Remember, this is where Lismore City Council want to spend over $27 million putting infrastructure in the Lismore ‘Flood’ Park project which will cost us an absolute fortune to maintain every year. Take care if on the road!!! Photos submitted.

16.01.2022 With Lismore City Council’s General Manager Shelley Oldham earning about $1,000 every day, plus perks, plus an anuual pay rise regardless of performance, she is... a massive financial burden on ratepayers every year. This may not be the case if council actually performed well, or improved each year. Our elected councillors had the opportunity to remove her a few weeks ago before she could do considerably more damage. Unfortunately, five of our nine remaining councillors voted to keep her. With the Mayor leaving at the end of this month, only eight councillors will be left. It is left to those remaining councillors to bring the fat salaries of council’s senior management team down considerably, and to hopefully remove the current General Manager and find someone more suitable. #KeepingThemHonest #SackShelleyOldham

08.01.2022 Two charged after allegedly claiming bushfire fraud grants - Lismore A man and woman have been charged after allegedly claiming more than $75,000 in fraudulent ...bushfire claims. In June 2020, officers from the Richmond Police District Rural Crime Prevention Team commenced Strike Force Munyana to investigate alleged fraudulent claims for grant money through a NSW Government scheme by a 34-year-old man and 33-year-old woman. Police will allege in court the man claimed he lost more than 3,000 head of cattle during the 2019 bushfires and attempted to claim compensation through an insurance company, whilst also applying for several NSW Government grant schemes for bushfire assistance. Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at an East Lismore property on Tuesday (15 December 2020), where they seized collectible coins, weapons and documentation. Following further investigations, police returned to the East Lismore property about 9.40am today (Friday 18 December 2020), and arrested a 34-year-old man. He was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with 14 offences including dishonestly obtain property by deception, dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, use false document to obtain financial advantage, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and possess prohibited weapon without permit. Later in the day, police located and arrested a 33-year-old woman. She was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with 15 offences including dishonestly obtain property by deception, dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, use false document to obtain financial advantage and possess unregistered firearm. Both were refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today (Friday 18 December 2020). Acting Corporate Sponsor for Rural Crime, Acting Assistant Commissioner Brett Greentree, said those who wish to abuse the system will be caught and put before the courts. The bushfires destroyed thousands of homes and stock across the state, as well as tragically taking lives. Our farmers have had to struggle through the bushfires after years of drought, so it is devastating to see some elements of society take advantage of the system that was put into place to support those who needed it. This is another example of some of the great work the Rural Crime Prevention Team do in conjunction with our police districts, Acting Assistant Commissioner Greentree said. Richmond Police District Commander, Superintendent Scott Tanner, said Northern Rivers residents can feel confident the NSW Police Force are watching those who wish to take advantage of bushfire relief. These support programs are put in place to help our landowners navigate out of hardship, with many Northern Rivers residents losing land and stock from the drought, then fires, and just a few days ago from floods. Richmond Police and our Rural Crime Investigators will not stop until they find those who wish to manipulate the system to their benefit, and those persons are brought before the courts, Supt Tanner said. Acting Rural Crime Prevention Team Coordinator, Detective Acting Inspector Damian Nott, said this result highlights the capability of our rural crime teams to target all crime types. Fraud related matters are serious enough in themselves, but when relief funds intended to support those affected by bushfire is allegedly unlawfully claimed, it becomes next level in terms of the deceit and criminality. This outstanding result really showcases the capability of the RCPT, particularly in bringing protracted, complex investigations to resolution, Det A/Insp Nott said. Investigations under Strike Force Munyana are ongoing.
