20.01.2022 A big thanks to everyone involved in last Saturday's Sausage Sizzle bonanza at Bunnings Lismore. It was a great day, and all told we managed to raise a little over $1000 for the club. The going was steady early, with the first tray of snags gone within the first hour. By 12:30 we had cooked and sold the first 300 snags, with supplies arriving in the nick of time for hungry shoppers. It was a real team effort. We couldn't have done it without the COVID controllers, BBQ Chefs, ...onions choppers ... and countless others who gave up their time. NOTE: Payment is required prior to taking the field in round 1. If registration is not deposited before Round 1 we cannot allow you to take the field (insurance etc).

15.01.2022 Important Notice for AFL 9’s @ Mortimer Oval - COVID Protocols. Firstly, if you are experiencing "Flu-like symptoms" - a dry cough, fever or tiredness/exhaustion, we strongly encourage you to stay home, and consider having a COVID test. - All players, parents/carers and training staff MUST sign in prior to commencing game (QR code will be near the clubhouse).... - Players must wash hands using hand sanitiser BEFORE AND AFTER your game - Social Distancing remain at least 1.5m apart from each other at all times when not playing. There are no huddles or unnecessary contact throughout - Get in and get out there is to be no socialising before or after your game. Please collect your belongings and exit the oval as soon as practical. - Bring your own water, snacks, fruit etc. Sharing of water bottles and snacks is strictly prohibited - Change rooms these are available for toilets or medical use ONLY. There will be no general changeroom use, showers etc. - All players are strongly encouraged to shower with *plenty* of soap when they return home. Many of us have had experience with sporting venues during COVID, however if there are any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to tournament organisers or Lismore Swans Juniors.

12.01.2022 LISMORE AFL 9's - EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Hi everyone .... we are looking at hosting an AFL 9’s competition at Gloria Mortimer in Lismore, and would like to gauge interest at this early stage. The comp is likely to start in *early* November and run for 6 weeks, with a cost of $600 to register a team (paid up front).... If you're keen to play, or want to know more, shoot us an e-mail to [email protected] (or reply in this thread). Note we don't need nominations for teams yet, but let us know if you're keen! AFL 9’s is the ‘tip footy’ of the AFL world. 9 players per team, Men and Women on the same field - in fact goals scored by Women are worth 9 points! 12.01.2022 AFL GRAND FINAL TICKET DRAW! The AFL and the AFLPA announced that the players are donating their 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final ticket allocation to community football clubs in Queensland AFL competitions. 2 tickets were provided to all 159 clubs. A draw was conducted last night, with an entry for every kid enrolled at Lismore Swans Jnrs. So we are proud to announce the winner ..... ... ELSIE LYNCH! Congrats Elsie - you're off to the AFL Grand Final! An amazing experience, and a moment in history with the first ever AFL Grand Final to be held outside of Victoria! A note from AFLPA President Patrick Dangerfield: "The players are grateful for the incredible support shown to them by the Queensland community throughout the 2020 season. To show our thanks, the players, through the AFL Players’ Association, are delighted to donate our Grand Final ticketing allocation to the 159 AFL community clubs in the state." This is a fun competition for everyone, and while we have unlocked some of our (long lost?) competitive juices, let's keep the game fun for everyone.
